The remastered release of “David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars” in stunning 4K leads the pack with a pre-sale to Nhk Japan already in place. Woody Randall has a brilliant idea for a Married at First Sight spin-off and we’re here for it, so let’s hope Kinetic content is paying attention.
There have been some Mafs success stories over the years – Woody and his wife Amani Aliyya being one of them.
He reasoned in the post that a lot has changed since we last saw them on TV, and it’s time for an update.
Many couples have gone on to have kids, and it would certainly be entertaining to have cameras capturing their lives post-mafs.
That would be a welcome addition for Mafs fans, who’ve been complaining that the franchise has gone downhill.
This season might arguably be the worst yet, with the show’s first-ever runaway bride. Furthermore, four of five couples already opted to divorce, and the final pair is heading in that direction.

Rolling Stone once released a list of the 100 greatest musicians and deemed The Beatles artistically superior to Little Richard. The “Good Golly, Miss Molly” singer responded to the list in an essay. In a similar vein, Paul McCartney had a lot to say about Little Richard.
Little Richard said he led the way for The Beatles and The Rolling Stones
In 2010, Rolling Stone released their list of the 100 greatest artists. The Beatles topped the list, while Little Richard came in at No. 8. The “Tutti Frutti” singer wrote an essay for the list.

In retrospect, it might look inevitable, the sticky-sweet commercial marriage between soda pop and pop music. (Catchy jingles worked. Why shouldn’t catchy hit songs work even better?) But in actuality, it was far from a sure bet back when Pepsi started formulating their strategic play to become the drink of a “new generation.”
The storied Pepsi pop pivot dates back roughly to 1960 — read: pre-bikini America, still largely an Eisenhower-drab sea of crew cuts, including Elvis, who’d been unceremoniously shorn and shipped off to the army. It was an...

Yes, Jimmy Page ruined Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson’s guitar, but it’s not like the Led Zeppelin founder stopped by the house and swung it into a wall. Instead, Page’s playing inspired Lifeson to mimic him, just like one of the Zep guitarist’s solos massively impacted Eddie Van Halen’s style.
Jimmy Page’s ‘How Many More Times’ solo had ‘the biggest impact’ on Rush’s Alex Lifeson
Flashback to the popular music scene of early 1969. The Beatles were still the biggest band in the world. The Rolling Stones (Beggars Banquet) and Jimi Hendrix (Electric Ladyland) released seminal albums a few months earlier, and The Who were working on their rock opera Tommy.
Then Led Zeppelin entered the mix.

“Carlos” has one of the best openings I’ve ever seen — or heard — in a music documentary. We hear Carlos Santana, waxing philosophical and wise (as he’s prone to do). Intercut with his words, at throbbing intervals of about 20 seconds (and at top volume), are the iconic organ-and-bass notes — Bom Bom!…Bom Bom! — that open “Oye Como Va,” the 1971 hit by Santana. I’ll confess that “Oye Como Va” is one of those classic-rock radio staples I feel like I’ve heard more times in my life than I ever need to. (Sort of like “Moondance” and “Tempted” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”) Yet “Carlos,” instead of assaulting you with the song, severs those four notes from it (Bom Bom!…Bom Bom!) and blows them up into a piece of pop art, like a Warhol sound painting. It asks us to hear the magic of what Carlos Santana...

‘Burden Of Proof’ Recap & Ending, Explained: Who Was Responsible For Jennifer Pandos’ Disappearance?
Burden of Proof, HBO’s brand-new documentary directed by Cynthia Hill, takes us through the case of Jennifer Pandos, who disappeared from her home at the age of 15. Stephen Pandos wants to prove his parents’ involvement in his sister’s disappearance. It has been 22 years since she was last seen, and ever since, there has been tension between Stephen and his mother and father.
Spoilers Ahead
Stephen Pandos’ Theory
With the advent of technology in the late 2000s, Stephen hopes he will be able to prove his suspicions because his parents were at home with Jennifer, and nothing would have happened without their knowledge. As an audience, it is depressing to watch the parents, Margie and Ron Pandos, being questioned by their only son. No one deserves to be treated with such humiliation, even if it means they will be proven guilty. Stephen is obsessed because he thought his parents were supposed to protect Jennifer,...

For a show that is so massive and has such high stakes, six episodes are really too few for it to leave as big an impression as intended. Citadel is still a really fun show and possibly just an opening for something much larger, the Citadel Spyverse, but we wish there was just a little more to make it wholesome. Still, we have more spies to look forward to, and we will definitely be looking forward to the return of Nadia and Maison soon enough.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In Episode 6?
Mason, Carter, and Nadia are taken by Manticore agents to give Dahlia what she needs in order to get Aasha, Nadia’s (and Mason’s) daughter, back. Type O Negative are widely considered the definitive goth metal band, so it’s only appropriate that on World Goth Day (May 22nd), a new AI-generated video for the group’s song “Halloween in Heaven” has been unveiled.
The late Peter Steele originally penned the track as a tribute to Dimebag Darrell, and it was included on what would be Type O’s final album Dead Again in 2007. Dimebag even appears in the new video, alongside the many rock heroes Steele mentions in the song’s lyrics: “Bonham on drums, Entwistle on bass, as guest morticians / Bon Scott on vox, Rhoads just for kicks, on guitar Hendrix / Lennon sits in with his friend George but where is Morrison?”
“An artificial intelligence video for an artificially intelligent band!” remarked Type O Negative’s Johnny Kenny, invoking the band’s signature self-deprecating sarcasm.

Farewell to Tom Verlaine, for some of us the greatest American rock guitarist not named “Hendrix.” Verlaine, who died Saturday at 73, could hit cosmic heights that no other guitar virtuoso could reach. He made his bones in the 1970s with Television, the garage band who created a new kind of psychedelic sublime in the Cbgb punk scene. Television made two of the Seventies’ best guitar albums, Marquee Moon and Adventure, until they fell apart, just as they were hitting their musical peak. But the music Verlaine got out of his...

Jimi Hendrix solidified his spot in rock music history in the late 1960s with three albums performed with his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. And although each album was a significant piece of work, Hendrix didn’t have much of a say in how the album covers looked when they sat on store shelves.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience released their debut album Are You Experienced in May 1967. The original UK version of the album featured an image of Hendrix wearing a cape with his arms wide open as he towered above his bandmates, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell.

Flea has led tributes to Tom Verlaine, the frontman for rock band Television, after his death was announced on Saturday (29 January).
Verlaine was the guitarist, songwriter and lead figure of the New York City band, which was mainly active in the mid-Seventies.
The band is most known for the 1977 album Marquee Moon, which is highly regarded as one of the foremost punk releases.
Verlaine frequently collaborated with musician Patti Smith throughout his solo career, and they once dated while they were part of the emerging punk scene in New York.
His death was announced by Jesse Paris Smith, the daughter of Patti Smith, who said that he died “after a brief illness”.
Since the news broke, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea is one of several musicians to have paid tribute to Verlaine online, sharing that he’d been an influence on his and bandmate John Frusciante.

Ronnie Wood and Jimi Hendrix might be two of the most recognizable classic rock guitar players ever. Wood played a stolen bass alongside Jeff Beck in his group in the late 1960s, was a creative driving force in Faces, and found worldwide fame with The Rolling Stones. Hendrix became a legend almost as soon as people heard his masterful guitar playing. Yet when they shared an apartment, Wood said Hendrix confessed that he hated one aspect of his music.

He was born and raised in the United States, but Hendrix had to go to England to find an appreciative audience. But they definitely appreciated him.
Three of his early singles — “Hey Joe,” “Purple Haze,” and “The Wind Cries Mary” — were top-10 hits in Britain in early 1967, per the Official Charts Company.

Ronnie Wood found worldwide fame with The Rolling Stones, but he was a well-known musician who played with world-class musicians before that. He stole a bass and played it in the Jeff Beck Group. Playing Guitar alongside Rod Stewart in Faces came next. Though known, he wasn’t Rolling Stones famous yet, and Wood got kicked out of his apartment as he was trying to be a friend to Jimi Hendrix and his dog.

As Wood writes in his autobiography Ronnie, he and Hendrix lived in soul singer P.P. Arnold’s building in London.

Ronnie Wood didn’t have to wait long to become a notable musician. Before joining The Rolling Stones, he was a teenage star in The Birds, who had some success in England, played a stolen bass in the Jeff Beck Group, and then switched to guitar in The Faces. But that progression might not have happened if Wood’s guitar playing hadn’t been inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s gift.

In my many years of seeing live music, few sights were as dispiriting as the first time I saw David Crosby up close. In the early Eighties, he played a solo show at New York’s Town Hall. Walking onstage, looking a little overweight, unkempt and shaggy in an untucked shirt and baggy pants, he plopped down on a wooden chair. His voice was a bit raspier than we’d heard on his records, and the blissed-out smiles and stage patter he was known for were Mia. At one point,...

Mike Schank, a tremendously gifted guitarist who gained millions of admirers as the preternaturally unfazed friend of passionate low-budget filmmaker Mike Borchardt in Chris Smith's documentary "American Movie," has died at the age of 56.
Smith's film took art houses by storm in 1999, and its enthusiastic reception came freighted with more than a tinge of guilt. Schank and Borchardt were Milwaukee eccentrics trying to complete a handmade horror movie. I vividly remember watching the documentary at New York City's Film Forum and wincing at the uproarious laughter generated by Borchardt's pained direction of his elderly Uncle Bill (whose financial investment is the only reason he's anywhere close to completing the shoot). It was, undeniably, funny. But anyone who's ever tried to muscle through an underfunded shoot had to identify with Borchardt's frantic direction. He knew what he needed, and he fervently believed he could get it out of Bill.

The “Bff Quiz” was a staple of the Eighties teen girl magazine. Back then, the media treated young women with open contempt. Female friendship was deemed too fickle and too poisonous to be determined by feelings – no, the only way to know if your bestie was really your bestie was to have them answer 12 hypothetical questions. Would they tell you if your new Esprit skirt was actually hideous? Would they get jealous if you started dating one of the popular boys? Would they douse your body in holy water if a supernatural entity took possession of your soul?
In My Best Friend’s Exorcism, banishing demons is the ultimate test of teen girl loyalty. It’s a devilishly smart and self-aware take on the current trend for Eighties horror homage, lovingly adapted from Grady Hendrix...

Directed by Damon Thomas (Penny Dreadful) from a screenplay by Jenna Lamia (Good Girls), My Best Friend’s Exorcism has the following synopsis:
Surviving the teenage years isn’t easy, especially when you’re possessed by a demon. It’s 1988, and best friends Abby and Gretchen are navigating boys, pop culture, and a paranormal force clinging to Gretchen like a pair of neon legwarmers. With assistance from overly confident mall exorcist Christian Lemon,...

There are many layers to the mystique of the Chelsea Hotel. Long before it became a hipster hangout, the 12-story, 250-room fortress, built in the 1880s, was home to Mark Twain. In the ’50s, the Chelsea played host to assorted literary figures, the first of whom to lend it a dissolute aura was Dylan Thomas, who was living the lush life in room 205 when he became ill and died in 1953. The beats moved in, and so did Arthur Miller after he divorced Marilyn Monroe and Arthur C. Clarke while he was writing “2001: A Space Odyssey.”
But it was Andy Warhol who put the stamp of underground cachet on the Chelsea when he shot his three-and-a-half-hour multi-screen ramble “The Chelsea Girls” there in 1966. By the time that Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe took up residence in 1969, they already saw themselves as the next generation in the Chelsea tradition of bohemian squalor.

U.K.-based distributor Dcd Rights has acquired Grammy-nominated feature documentary “Music, Money, Madness… Jimi Hendrix Live In Maui.” The 90-minute documentary chronicles guitar legend Jimi Hendrix’s visit to Maui in July 1970 and details how he became ensnared in “Rainbow Bridge,” an ill-fated independent film produced by his manager, Michael Jeffery.
Jeffery secured a 300,000 advance against the promise of a soundtrack album by Hendrix — the first time a movie was funded solely by an album. Jeffery hired Chuck Wein, a former associate of Andy Warhol, to direct. However, without a script or professional actors, the shoot was proving one of excess. With Hendrix and the Experience already booked to play Honolulu, Wein, desperate to feature the band, planned to film them playing on the slope of the dormant Haleakala volcano. The show was a success but the film, less so.

Not only are audiences eating up HBO’s “Euphoria,” Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” and Paramount +’s “The Offer,” but viewers have also been turning to music streaming platforms to find the songs from the series. And music supervisor Jen Malone is fast becoming a household name as the mastermind behind the tunes. “We always want to cross our fingers and toes and make sure it clears,” she jokes as she refers to music clearance, which is integral to those moments. A show’s tunes often begins with the script. “Those songs are the ones we have to get the jump on immediately and get cleared and ready for the production,” says Malone. “The approach with a lot of shows is to bring us back to a certain time, and certain songs will always do that.” Here she breaks down some key music on her series.
