Another contestant has been eliminated on The Voice. Nick Hagelin's journey was cut short one week before the semifinals and two weeks before the finale.
BuddyTV took part in a conference call with Nick. He talked about competing against Paxton Ingram for the Instant Save, working with two coaches (and how their styles differ), if he was worried his story would overshadow his talent and the truth about leaving his record deal.

The results aren't quite as much of a slam dunk as they were for the Top 10 eliminations, but they're still pretty big. Roughly 70% of you agree with me that Nick Hagelin will be cut short of the semifinals on The Voice season 10. A small number of you are evenly split between Shalyah Fearing and Paxton Ingram, but that likely means that one of them will be joining Nick in the Bottom 2. But let's find out if the majority of us are right or if The Voice is in for a real shocker to set up the semifinals.
Remember, this is a live blog, so stay on this page and refresh every 15 minutes or so to get the latest updates on who is staying, who is leaving and if Christina will actually go through with what she has been threatening to do all season and just show up topless.

The Top 11 was a night of upsets for The Voice. It's true that favorites like Alisan Porter and Hannah Huston did as great as ever, but it was some of the less noteworthy contestants who had a bigger night. The maligned Paxton Ingram proved that maybe Blake Shelton wasn't as foolish as we all assumed for keeping the young singer. Mary Sarah, also of Team Blake, had a performance that reminded The Voice fans that she has a powerhouse of a talent. It was a good night for Team Blake, in other words.
While Team Blake was thriving, other teams did not do so hot. Team Pharrell really has only one contender in Hannah Huston. Daniel Passino showed little improvement from the previous week. Team Christina's Nick Hagelin is becoming a bore. Most surprisingly, it was Team Adam's Shalyah Fearing who had a down night. Shalyah perhaps had her weakest...

If nothing else, the votes that resulted in the Top 12 on The Voice proved that season 10 will have a lot of surprises in store. It's not just the fact that the coaches were allowed to save one artist from their team that threw things out of whack. I'm not sure how many would have anticipated Nick Hagelin being one of the two members of the very talented Team Christina to move forward in the competition based on America's votes. The single elimination at stake in the Top 12 makes the target a lot smaller. It is a very bright target, though, and should be easy to predict, even factoring in the wildcard of America's Instant Save.

The results show for the Top 12 of The Voice season 10 were full of surprises. Who would have anticipated Daniel Passino becoming the first coach comeback to ever move on to the Top 12? Nick Hagelin, of all Team Christina's talented crop, was one of the two special people who got a spot in the Top 12 by America's votes. Coach Adam Levine evidently wasn't expecting both Laith Al-Saadi and Shalyah Fearing to move on to the Top 12 judging from his reaction.
The biggest surprise (and mistake) came from Team Blake. Blake chose Paxton Ingram to move on to the Top 12 and might have ended up seriously weakening his team in the process. Team Blake might be a long shot to win season 10 of The Voice but this decision might have lowered the team's chances even more.
