The 2009 Dingle Film Festival begins today with an opening ceremony followed by the screening of Buster Keaton and Charles Reiner's classic 'Steamboat Bill Jr.' with a new full-length score performed live by Peter Blanchette. The festival, now in its 3rd year, has this year named comedy as its theme and will screen a line-up of films in that genre such as 'Monty Python's The Holy Grail', 'The Brian Cowen Story', 'The Truman Show' and 'The Big Lebowski'. And whereas festival director, Maurice Galway, tells Iftn he is excited about all the film screenings he says he is particularly looking forward to the screening of 'Spiderhole', the first Irish film shot using Red cameras, from director Daniel Simpson and producer Patrick O'Neill - both of whom will introduce the film at the festival.
