Kelly Rowland is praising Jay-Z after the media mogul’s Grammys speech, in which he called out the organization for not getting it right.
“Shawn Carter is one of the greatest men I know and his words ring so loud to me,” Rowland told Entertainment Tonight during the Bob Marley: One Love movie premiere. “I couldn’t be more proud of him.”
The Destiny’s Child alum continued, “I’m just really happy for a lot of things that he said. I think that he made a lot of artists feel very seen and very heard in those minutes that he took on stage.”
On Sunday night, the rapper was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and when he took the stage with his daughter Blue Ivy, he took some shots at the Recording Academy.

Kelly Rowland will always have Jay-Z‘s back.
During the 2024 Grammys over the weekend, the 54-year-old rapper was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. In his acceptance speech, criticized the Recording Academy for never giving wife Beyoncé the Album of the Year award.
“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics that doesn’t work,” Jay said. “Think about that. The most Grammys. Never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”
While attending the Bob Marley: One Love premiere on Tuesday (Feb. 6), Kelly, 42, reacted to Jay‘s comments.

The rapper took the stage hand in hand with his daughter Blue Ivy as Beyoncé cheered them both on from the audience. At the start of his speech, he joked that his Grammy Awards used to be used as sippy cups for their daughter,...

The holidays were dominated by two movie musicals — “Wonka” and “The Color Purple” — and just two weeks into January, we get a third one. “Mean Girls” is likely to not only be the biggest movie of the extended MLK Jr. weekend, but of the entire month. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
Twenty years after Tina Fey‘s influential comedy “Mean Girls” introduced the world to the elitist high school clique known as the Plastics, with a cast that included Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lizzy Caplan and Amanda Seyfried, “Mean Girls” returns to theaters, this time as a musical transposed from a successful run on Broadway.
Fey is back as teacher Ms. Norbury, as is her “SNL” cast mate Tim Meadows as his character from the 2004 movie. They’re joined by a new young cast that includes Angourie Rice (from the “Spider-Man” movies) as Cady Heron – the...

Carol Burnett’s 90 Years of Laughter and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie were the big winners on night 2 of the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday, while Queer Eye — already sick with Emmys — took home yet another for Outstanding Structured Reality Show. So did RuPaul (for hosting Drag Race) and The Simpsons (Animated Series), naturally.
Burnett’s sentimental trip down memory lane won Variety Special (pre-recorded), while Still won for Outstanding Documentary and Director (Davis Guggenheim).
“This is very encouraging,” Burnett said from the stage, before telling everyone to drive home safely.
Barack Obama, who was sadly Ma from the awards show in downtown L.A.’s Peacock Theater, picked up a trophy for narrating Working: What We Do All Day, while Welcome to Wrexham racked up wins for Unstructured Reality Show, Editing and Cinematography.
Keke Palmer won the Emmy for Outstanding game show host for NBC’s Password – the...
