Dermot Mulroney has been cast in the CBS drama pilot “Bunker Hill,” TheWrap has learned. The drama follows a young Silicon Valley tech titan who enlists a veteran surgeon with a controversial past in starting a hospital with a cutting-edge, “new school” approach to medicine. Mulroney will play Walter Wallace, a brilliant surgeon committed to saving lives who might care a little too much about his patients. Though it was prematurely cancelled in 2012, the horror comedy TV series Todd & The Book of Pure Evil has lived on through the memories of its loyal fan base, been discovered by a new audience on home media, and will return in an animated film in the near future. Last fall, I had the great pleasure of speaking with the series' co-creators and main cast, who looked back on fighting evil... with mixed results.
In this second part of Daily Dead's retrospective on Todd & The Book of Pure Evil, Alex House (Todd Smith), Maggie Castle (Jenny Kolinsky), Bill Turnbull (Curtis Weaver), Melanie Leishman (Hannah B. Williams), Shawn Pierce (music composer), and series co-creator Craig David Wallace discuss their time on the truly unique series that showed the humor, horror, and often blood-soaked trials and tribulations of high school.

[Originally appeared in the January 2015 issue of Deadly Magazine] Think back to your worst memory of high school. If it doesn’t involve a giant bone-crushing baby, rock and roll zombies, or a Satanic guidance counselor, then you didn’t go to Crowley High, the setting for the beloved TV series Todd & The Book of Pure Evil.
Comprised of two seasons that originally aired from 2010–2012 on Canada’s Space network, Todd & The Book of Pure Evil follows Todd Smith, a heavy metal-loving high school stoner who, along with his best friend Curtis, major crush (and strongly independent) Jenny, and the brilliant Hannah, is forced to face the monsters and evil powers unleashed by The Book of Pure Evil.
The twisted tome (believed to be bound in the foreskin of Judas) can be found by the tormented, the humiliated, and the depressed—making high school its perfect home. For 26 episodes, Todd and his friends (collectively known as “the Gang”) hunt...

Dylan McDermott is coming to "Shameless"! Wait, that's not right. Derbel McDillett is coming to "Shameless"! Also not right. Dermot Mulroney is coming to "Shameless!" That's the one. The frequently-confused-for-McDermott actor will be joining the fifth season of Showtime's acclaimed series, playing "ex-bad boy and recovering addict Sean Pierce," who will be the new manager at the diner diner where Emmy Rossum's Fiona got a job at in last season's finale. Though it will be a new character, he's essentially filling the slot of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who was introduced in that exact capacity (and with that history) in the season 4 finale. It's a shame Morgan couldn't stick around, given how good he was in that episode (and how refreshing it was to see him in full character actor mode for the first time in a while), but I suppose the same diner can't employ two different ex-bad boy recovering addicts in managerial capacities.

You know that dream everyone seems to have at one time or another, when you’re naked and (fill in the blank – on stage/in class/at the office) in front of clothed people? How about the one where you have a test for a class you forgot to drop? On this week’s Haven, according to the TV spot and clip, that’s what happens to Nathan (Lucas Bryant). And So. Much. More. We don’t know whose trouble it is, but who cares?
First, though, we have an “Inside Haven” featurette, this week about Haven‘s music, with composer Shawn Pierce.

Chicago – It’s a weird week at the video store (do they still have those?) or in the New Releases section of your favorite Video On Demand service. There’s some real junk that we’ll get to (“The Internship”) along with some flicks that are just too good not to break out into their own special Blu-ray reviews (“Before Midnight,” “The Conjuring” — both must-sees). And then there’s a unique array of catalog releases and TV seasons. Those could easily fall through the cracks if not for the informative What to Watch. All of these are new to Blu-ray, some for the first time and some in anniversary/special editions. At least one will grab your attention.

Last week’s episode of Nikita was shocking on multiple levels. First, it dared to kill off a fan-favorite character. Second, it dared to burn down its own house. Nikita has always been a trigger-happy show and has dared to kill off high profile characters before (R.I.P. Percy), but killing one of its white-knight heroes was earth-shattering. In addition, we all knew the days of Division being able to operate as a clandestine force for good would be short-lived with all those allegedly reformed agents chaffing under the imposed-constraints. We just did not suspect that it would be this short. Division literally imploded once the recruits figured out that their own government was coming to exterminated each and everyone of them, effectively reneging on the deal to give each a pardon in exchange for their service in tracking down the rogue Division agents.

Nikita, Season 3, Episode 18: “Broken Home”
Written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett
Directed by John Badham
Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on the CW
The boiling tensions in Division came to a head last week, pushed forward in no small part by Amanda. With Ryan out of commission, Nikita captured, and Alex mentally compromised, the leadership of the covert organisation was at the weakest level it has been since Percy’s death, making the results of this coup truly uncertain, particularly on a show that has never been hesitant in shaking up the status quo, starting all the way back with the death of major characters Thom and Jaden in season one. This week’s episode explores the fallout from the Division coup and Nikita’s capture, delivering another shocking episode that gives the audience a glimpse into what makes Amanda tick, and leaves Division irrevocably changed.

Next month a devilish new agent shows her face at Division when the CW’s Nikita premiers the new cast member, actress Jessica Camacho. You might recognize Camacho from ABC’s Last Resort, a great show that ended after only 13 episodes and won’t be seeing a second season order. TVLine had the exclusive news about Camacho’s guest appearance. Might it get bumped up to recurring status? Or will her dark intent endanger her health? We’ll have to wait and see.
Camacho’s episode will show on the CW on April 5th, when her character, Rachel, is proven to have quite an agenda. Certain to remind fans of Nikita herself, Rachael has designs for breaking free of Division’s power forever. Currently working as a technical operations staffer, Rachael is one of the few assets left in the shadowy organization’s hold.

The CW’s Nikita (Fridays, 8/7c) last week shockingly “killed off” its stalwart Navy Seal after Amanda framed him for a horrendous crime — but of course, he’s not really gone. Dillon Casey‘s crime-fighting alter ego has instead been forced into a full-time Division gig, living underground with a few rogue agents and Alex, the one (temporary?) bright spot in his turned-upside-down life.

Nikita, Season 3, Episode 5: “The Sword’s Edge”
Written by Albert Kim

Nikita took an unexpected hiatus for the past two weeks, as the CW shuffled its schedule to allow this current season of America’s Next Top Model to round out its cycle, before moving the story of Division and its once and current star agent an hour ahead on Fridays to 8 pm. Switches like this can be tough on a show; a hiatus often takes out a show’s momentum, and a time shift invariably causes an initial drop in viewers. However, this can also present an opportunity for a show to return in an even stronger fashion than before, and entice new viewers. It was this challenge that Nikita faced this week, and rather than see it as an obstacle, the show took it as a challenge,...

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.

Sean Pierce (Dillon Casey) has a lot on his plate these days. Even as a relative newcomer to the action-packed world of Nikita, the former Navy Seal has found himself with a mountain of troubles to overcome, and tonight he once again comes face-to-face with Problem No. 1, Nikita (Maggie Q), after capturing Birkoff and putting him in the (incredibly scary and torture-happy) hands of Amanda.
“Birkoff’s a trading chip,” says Casey. “But Nikita has one of her own — the black box. So they’re going to have to face each other one-on-one.”

As Nikita‘s newest addition, Sean Pierce already has his hands full — of women! Dispatched by Oversight (aka Mom) to keep an eye on Division and its new leader Amanda, Sean has now set his sights on Nikita. But to take her down, he may have to manipulate Alex, the one person inside Division he kinda-sorta likes.

When he's not busy making hilarious viral videos for Funny or Die, Dillon Casey spends much of his time being mysterious and deadly on The CW's 'Nikita' (Fri., 8Pm Et).
As the enigmatic Sean Pierce, former Navy Seal and current Oversight-elected overseer of Division, Casey is living out many a macho fantasy; he's kicking ass, handling weapons, and (somewhat ineptly) attempting to seduce a troubled rogue agent who just so happens to look like Lyndsy Fonseca. Not a bad job if you can get it.
Casey features heavily in this week's action-packed installment of 'Nikita,' in which he once again comes face to face with our titular heroine. Yesterday, I spoke with the actor about Sean's motivations, his impending showdown with Nikita and whether his questionable seduction techniques will improve over time ... Light spoilers ahead.

You don't have to look hard to find Lyndsy Fonseca on TV. The 24-year-old actress can be seen in Lifetime's star-studded breast cancer anthology "Five" (Oct. 10), appears regularly in flash-forwards on "How I Met Your Mother" and currently co-headlines with Maggie Q on the CW's "Nikita,"
During the Oct. 7 episode, "Knightfall," her rapidly-evolving character goes after one of her late father's associates in -- something that seems to speak a lot to her arc this season.
"I don't think Alex has been more driven in her life," Fonseca tells Zap2it. "She's basically going to start taking control of herself and doing things her way."
Fonseca also breaks down how different this second round of "Nikita" has been and what it was like working with such an intimidating ensemble of women on "Five":

When Nikita returns to the CW this September it will do so with Dillon Casey. The former Vampire Diaries and Torchwood alum is being described as somebody who will be testing his skills against Maggie Q, and a possible love interest for Lyndsy Fonseca’s Alex. TV Guide described Casey’s “Sean Pierce” as “a handsome, upstanding former Special Forces commander is tasked by Oversight to observe and report on Division’s dealings”, which of course leads him to Melinda Clarke, thus Fonseca. Casey has a history going after CW desirable, having had his eyes set on Elena Dobrev in his stint as ‘Noah” on the network’s Vampire Diaries.
Nikita was renewed last May and the second season debuts on the CW on September 23rd. You can check out our various reviews of episodes from the first season under our Nikita menu.
