Adel Hakim was born on 13 October 1953 in Cairo, Egypt. He was an actor, known for Un été à Paris (1988) and Des mots de minuit (1999). He died on 29 August 2017 in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France.
Doctor of philosophy, he became an actor having studied under Ariane Mnouchkine and John Strasberg. He became a playwright and a theater director. His adaptation and staging in Arabic with french over-titles of Sophocles Antigone won a prize. He was co-director with Elisabeth Chailloux of the Théâtre des Quartiers d'Ivry.
