Exclusive: Apple TV+ has opted not to renew for a second season Amber Brown, its single-camera kids/family comedy series based on the bestselling books by Paula Danziger, which is headlined by Sarah Drew and child actor Carsyn Rose. The news comes more than eight months after the series’ 10-episode first season was released on July 29. I hear the options on the cast have lapsed.
The Boat Rocker-produced Amber Brown, which also stars Darin Brooks and newcomer Liliana Inouye, was written and directed by Bonnie Hunt, who also served as executive producer and showrunner.
The series stars Rose as the title character, an everykid who is going through what children of divorced partners experience, and making sense of her new family dynamic through her sketches and video diary. Drew plays Amber’s mother; Brooks plays Sarah’s boyfriend, Max; Inouye plays Amber’s friend Brandi Colwin.

Alex Barima (Daniel), Chantel Riley (Lucy), and Deven Mack (Hoagie) star.
Matt Fernandes is the creator/showrunner of “Daniel Spellbound.”
Matt Fernandes, Arthur Spanos, Tammy Semen, Ivan Schneeberg, David Fortier, Jon Rutherford, Chapman Maddox serve as Executive Producers.
Merrill Hagan is the show’s executive story editor.

The newly announced cast will be a part of the three previously announced episodes for the upcoming season, all of which are written by co-creator Seth Meyers.

Nick Bruel’s “Bad Kitty” children’s books are getting an animated television adaptation courtesy of entertainment company Boat Rocker.
The series, which has sold more than 20 million copies since it was first published in 2005, tells the story of a housecat called Kitty who regularly causes havoc at home.
“Whether she is trying to be good or be quiet and behave, it seems that trouble finds a way to her,” reads the synopsis.
Boat Rocker have a number of kids and family series on their slate, including “Dino Ranch” for Disney, “Daniel Spellbound” for Netflix and “Amber Brown” for Apple TV+.
“I asked Kitty how excited she was to have a series produced by Boat Rocker,” Bruel said. “She yawned and reminded me to clean her litterbox before slipping into her late morning, pre-afternoon nap. I, on the other hand, am delighted to be working with Boat Rocker on turning...

Exclusive: Erik McCurdy’s comic strip Stuffed is set to be turned into a television series.
Boat Rocker, which is involved in animated series including BBC’s Danger Mouse and Nickelodeon’s The Loud House, has teamed up with The Operating Room, which is behind Fox’s Hawkmaster on the animated project.
Stuffed centers on the outrageous, curious and absurd adventures of an irrepressible little girl and her adventure-ready plush toy guild. Together, they journey beyond the highest mountain to rescue a mythical Yeti, beneath the deepest ocean to solve a pirate riddle, outside the edge of the galaxy to make contact with alien beings and occasionally to the kitchen for cookies.
The comic debuted in 2018 and has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on social media.
“The heart and soul of Stuffed is childhood imagination, which is why it is such a joy to create,” said McCurdy.
