This Lord of the Rings article contains spoilers for The Rings of Power.
While the first season of Amazon’s The Rings of Power bowed all the way back in 2022, we’ve yet to hear when season 2 will finally arrive on the streaming service. But during the wait, we have learned quite a few things about the upcoming season through set photos and updates from the show’s stars, including Morfydd Clark, who spoke to Den of Geek last year about what’s next for Galadriel. The latest update comes from actor Charlie Rich’s Instagram Stories, where he seems to confirm that Gavi Singh Chera (The Undeclared War) is set to play Annatar, one of the Dark Lord’s other forms in J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium, in season 2.
It’s important to note that Amazon hasn’t officially confirmed who Chera is playing, so take the following with a grain of salt.

However, Villarreal mounted a spirited comeback. Juan Foyth’s commanding header in the 26th minute and Alexander Sorloth’s exquisite finish in the 40th minute equalized the scores.
Four minutes into the second half, Alex Baena’s curveball went past Marc Andre Ter Stegen, placing Villarreal in the lead.

Madrid (Spain), Aug 14 (Ians) Fc Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez launched a blistering attack on La Liga and referee Cesar Soto Grado after his side’s title defense started with a 0-0 draw away to Getafe on Sunday.
Neither side was able to score in a match that lasted an incredible hour and 55 minutes, with 10 minutes of injury time added in the first half and 15 at the end of the second half to compensate for the constant stoppages provoked by Getafe’s tactics.
Barca’s Raphinha was sent off for elbowing Getafe defender Gaston Alvarez. Xavi was also sent to the stands for his protests at Getafe’s attempts to break up and stop the play with time wasting and a non-stop stream of fouls and off-the-ball incidents, reports Xinhua.
Speaking to the press afterwards, Xavi pulled no punches with what he had seen.

Madrid (Spain), Aug 12 (Ians) La Liga champions Fc Barcelona will open their title defense with a difficult away game at Getafe on Sunday evening.
Barca coach Xavi Hernandez should have something approaching a full squad after the club was able to find the necessary finance on Friday to inscribe Ronald Araujo and Ilkay Gundogan into their first-team squad, and others such as Alejandro Balde and Oriol Romeu should have been written into the squad by Sunday’s match.
However, Barcelona have been depleted by the departure of Franck Kessie to Saudi Arabia during the week, while Ousmane Dembele’s move to Paris Saint-Germain was confirmed on Saturday morning.
That means Xavi will still have to include some B-team players in Sunday’s squad, with Fermin Lopez and impressive 16-year-old winger Lamine Yamal also likely to travel.

Madrid (Spain), Aug 8 (Ians) As defending champions of La Liga, Fc Barcelona, coached by Xavi Hernandez, will be the team to beat this season. However, several factors could hinder Barca’s title defense and their ambitions in Europe.
The primary point of discussion ahead of the new campaign is that Barca won’t be hosting games at Camp Nou Stadium. Due to significant renovations, they’ll play at the Olympic Stadium, which seats just under 56,000, far less than Camp Nou’s 99,000. Consequently, many fans won’t see games in person, and a running track around the field will distance players from fans, potentially affecting the home advantage.
The Camp Nou has always been a stronghold for Barca. But with the Olympic Stadium not offering the same aura, coupled with potential pitch quality concerns, it may impact Barca’s game play, a Xinhua report said.

Madrid, May 17 (Ians) Fc Barcelona’s men’s and women’s teams celebrated their respective league title wins through the streets of the city, cheered on by hundreds of thousands of fans lining the streets.
The women continue to be unstoppable, claiming another title with a 100 percent record, while the men assured the title with a 4-2 win away to Espanyol on Sunday night, with four games left in the season, reports Xinhua.

Speaking on Catalan TV network, TV3 after Barca claimed this season’s La Liga title late on Sunday night, Laporta explained he had tried to build bridges with Messi in the wake of the Argentinean’s move to Paris Saint Germain after being unable to fit his wages into the club’s tight wage ceiling.

Messi will be out of contract with Psg at the end of the season, reports Xinhua.

Madrid, April 11 (Ians) Fc Barcelona failed to open a 15-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga but nevertheless extended their advantage to 13 points after a 0-0 draw at home to Girona on Monday night.
Despite the lack of goals, it was an entertaining game, although Barca clearly missed the injured Ousmane Dembele and Pedri once again.
The first half may not have produced any goals, but it had plenty of entertaining football, with both sides creating chances.
Viktor Tsygankov fired just wide for Girona in the opening minute, while Robert Lewandowski and the lively Ansu Fati had efforts just wide at the other end before Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga had to react quickly after Santiago Bueno’s loose back-pass looked to be heading into the net, a Xinhua report said.
Taty Castellanos then fired into the Barca side-netting with the match only in its 12th minute,...

Barcelona, April 6 (Ians) Karim Benzema scored a hat trick as Real Madrid took advantage of important injuries for Fc Barcelona to overturn a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal to book their place in the final with a 4-0 win in Camp Nou Stadium.
Three second-half goals from Benzema after a vital opener from Vinicius Jr on the stroke of halftime put Madrid on their way to a final spot against Osasuna on May 6, reports Xinhua.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti picked an attacking side, with Benzema, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo in attack and Fede Valverde in midfield, while Xavi Hernandez’s options were limited by injuries with Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele all sidelined.
Barca started stronger, with Lewandowski seeing a shot deflected wide and Raphinha heading at Thibaut Courtois before great defending from Ronald Araujo denied Vinicius Jr and a quick Madrid counterattack.

Madrid, April 4 (Ians) Fc Barcelona and Real Madrid meet for the fifth (and final) time this season when they play the return leg of their Copa del Rey semi final on Wednesday night.
After losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in their first meeting of the campaign, Barca have won the last three clashes between the two sides, beating Real Madrid 3-1 in the Spanish Supercup, winning the first leg of the semifinal 1-0 with a defensive display in the Santiago Bernabeu in early March and then beating their eternal rivals 2-1 in their second La Liga meeting in the Camp Nou, two and a half weeks ago.
Although Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti continues to insist that he is relaxed about his future, the Italian must know that very few Madrid coaches who lose four times to Barca in a single campaign are likely to hold on to their jobs.

Madrid (Spain), March 11 (Ians) Fc Barcelona face a difficult visit to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night a week ahead of the El Clasico clash against Real Madrid.
If Real Madrid beat Espanyol in this week’s encounter, Barca will kick off with a six-point lead over their rivals and a win in the San Mames Stadium would see that gap extended to nine points ahead of the meeting with their title rivals. Any other result would see Madrid go to Barcelona with a chance of moving within touching distance at the top.
Xavi Hernandez’s side are boosted by the return of Robert Lewandowski after a muscle injury that has sidelined him for two weeks, while Gavi is back to provide bite in midfield after his suspension, reports Xinhua.
However, Ronald Araujo misses out through suspension after being sent off last weekend against Valencia, while Pedri and Ousmane Dembele are still injured.

Madrid, March 3 (Ians) Fc Barcelona produced a rock-solid and very untypical defensive display to beat Real Madrid 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal.
Real Madrid dominated the ball and had Barca pinned back for much of the game, with Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde all outstanding; Madrid barely produced a save from Marc Andre Ter Stegen all game.
Without Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele, Barca opted for a pragmatic approach, with Franck Kessie in the starting 11 and Raphinha and Ferran Torres carrying the visitors’ attack.

Madrid, Feb 25 (Ians) Fc Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez attempted to take some importance from his side’s exit from Europe at the hands of Manchester United on Thursday as he spoke to the press ahead of Sunday’s La Liga trip to Almeria.
Depending on the result of Saturday’s Madrid derby, Barca will go into the match in Almeria with a lead of between five and eight points over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, reports Xinhua news agency.
Xavi’s side now only has domestic competitions to focus on after their exit from the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, which has meant another blow to the club’s economy.

Madrid, Feb 22 (Ians) Fc Barcelona travel to Old Trafford on Thursday aiming to keep their European ambitions alive when they take on Manchester United in the second leg of their Europa League tie.
Barca still have options in the tournament after a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou last week, despite being under pressure from United for long periods of the match, and Raphinha’s equalizer from a cross that deceived everyone to end up in the net has left the tie in the balance.
However, if Barca want to avoid another painful (and expensive) early exit from Europe, they will have to end Manchester United’s impressive form at Old Trafford, where the English side is unbeaten in its last 17 home matches; the last time United were beaten at home was against Spanish opposition when Real Sociedad beat them 1-0 on September 8th.

Doha, Nov 30 (Ians) Spain coach Luis Enrique was giving nothing away about his line-up to face Japan on Thursday in the last round of matches in Group E.
A draw will be enough to see the Spanish through and even a defeat would possibly still see them into the last-16 on goal difference and the coach is expected to make some changes as he rests players such as Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, while preferring not to risk Gavi and Rodrigo Hernandez, who have struggled with slight physical problems in the last couple of days.
“We are not going to speculate with any player,” Enrique told the press ahead of his game, before adding that whoever played, Spain would go for the win.
“We want to win to be first in the group of death. We have no intention of speculating because we want to be the first,” he said.

Doha, Nov 29 (Ians) Spain have two minor injury worries ahead of their World Cup Group E match against Japan on Thursday, with midfielders Gavi and Rodrigo Hernandez both currently working on their own.
Gavi spent the second day after Spain’s 1-1 draw against Germany, which has put them on the verge of qualifying for the last 16, working on a static bicycle after suffering a knock on his right tibia on Sunday night, while Hernandez also worked in the gym.
Both players are expected to be available to face Japan, where a draw would be enough to see Spain into the last 16, although the Spanish need a win to ensure they qualify as group leaders, reports Xinhua.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, midfielder Koke insisted Spain would go flat out for a win in the game.

Doha (Qatar), Nov 22 (Ians) Spain kick off their FIFA World Cup campaign against Costa Rica on Wednesday looking to build on their performance in last summer’s European Championships, where they reached the semifinals before losing on penalties to eventual champions Italy.
Spain coach Luis Enrique has put his faith in a young squad of players who, despite their youth, already have plenty of experience in domestic and European football.
Unai Simon is a fixture in goal, while Aymeric Laporte and Eric Garcia will probably play in central defense, with Jordi Alba and Dani Carvajal as the full-backs.
There could be a Barcelona trio in midfield, with Gavi and Pedri accompanying either Sergio Busquets or Manchester City’s Rodri, while Alvaro Morata will lead the attack, partnered by two of Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati.

Madrid, Nov 15 (Ians) Spain’s veteran Fc Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is on the verge of his fourth World Cup, after 2010 where he helped Spain win their first title, 2014 and 2018.
Now he will once again be a key member of the Spanish midfield in Qatar, despite his age of 34.
“It’s been many years in the front line, enduring many things, both in the national team and in the club, passing continuous tests,” he said in an interview with Spanish ‘Panenka’ magazine.
He said Spain coach Luis Enrique has the full support of his players.
“Luis Enrique is the person most responsible for all the players in the squad. He is the one who works day by day, and knows all of them and what they can contribute. He is the one who prepares the matches and convinces us of the idea of game with facts and explanations. We are with him to the end,...

Madrid, Nov 12 (Ians) Spain coach Luis Enrique had few surprises when he named his 26-man squad for the World Cup on Friday from the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation just outside of Madrid.
The coach has picked a squad with an emphasis on youth, including players such as Fc Barcelona trio Ansu Fati, Gavi and Pedri, and other youngsters such as Yeremy Pino, Hugo Guillamon and Nico Williams, while again ignoring calls to include Paris Saint Germain’s veteran Sergio Ramos.
There is the experience in defense, with Jordi Alba, Dani Carvajal and Cesar Azpilicueta all included, although there was no place for Athletic Club Bilbao’s Inigo Martinez, with Valencia’s Hugo Guillamon, who can also play in midfield if needed, given the nod.

Lewandowski’s first goal saw him control a pass from Jordi Alba before striking home, while his second was a measured shot into the far corner of the Villarreal goal, reports Xinhua.
Barca coach Xavi Hernandez rang the changes with Marcos Alonso playing in central defence, while Torres, Gavi and Fati all came into the side, with Sergio Busquets and Eric Garcia among those dropping to the bench.

Madrid, Oct 19 (Ians) Fc Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is expected to bring changes when his side entertains Villarreal at Camp Nou on Thursday.
The game comes on the back of last week’s 3-3 draw at home to Inter Milan, which almost ended Barca’s hopes of advancing in the Champions League and Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid, where Barca rarely looked as if they were going to get anything from their eternal rivals, reports Xinhua.
Barca were flat and lacked a change of pace in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and also looked vulnerable to Madrid’s rapid counterattacks: something that Villarreal, with players such as Arnaut Danjuma, are also highly effective at.
Xavi is likely to bring Ansu Fati into his starting 11 for Ousmane Dembele, whose form has dipped in recent matches, while youngster Gavi also looks certain to be back in the side.

The first French player to win the prestigious individual football prize since Zinedine Zidane in 1998, Benzema had his best season ever at Madrid, finishing with 44 goals in 46 matches and becoming the top scorer in both domestic and continental tournaments, reports Xinhua. A highlight for the 34-year-old came in the knockout stages of the Champions League when he grabbed two consecutive hat-tricks against Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16, and Chelsea in the quarterfinals.

The love triangle was in full force as Eve was torn between the two loves of her life.
Gavin reunited with Eve on La Brea Season 2 Episode 3, shocking her and making Levi jealous since he and Eve had just restarted their relationship.
This episode highlighted the flawed and complicated relationships between the trio. It also explored taking responsibility and protecting your own. While Lucas was still an impulsive hothead, he has evolved and now cares about others too.
This was the first episode that both story arcs were down in 10,000 BC, which flowed better without interrupting to go topside to 1988.
Let's discuss the reunion we've all been waiting for. Eve had so many regrets about Gavin and missed him so much.
I can’t believe you’re actually here.

Poor Eve. Gavin sounded so determined and romantic, and she had to be confused.

Madrid, Oct 10 (Ians) Fc Barcelona had to withstand a second half fightback at home to Celta Vigo to cling on for a narrow 1-0 win in the Camp Nou on Sunday in the eighth round match of La Liga.
Barca controlled the first half completely, with Gavi and Pedro running the midfield, and it was no surprise when Gavi set Pedro up to score from close range in the 17th minute.
Everything changed after the break, with Celta seeing a goal ruled out for a close offside, while Marc-Andre ter Stegen produced two excellent saves to deny Iago Aspas and Oscar.
Barca will have to improve considerably if they are to beat Inter Milan in the Champions League ahead of next weekend’s El Clasico against Real Madrid, reports Xinhua.

Freetown, Oct 5 (Ians) The government of Sierra Leone has introduced the Human Papillomavirus (Hpv) vaccine to protect girls from cervical cancer, said a press statement by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS).

Madrid, Oct 3 (Ians) Spanish giants Fc Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have vital Champions League matches away from home on Tuesday night.
Barcelona visit Inter Milan and need to avoid defeat following their 2-1 loss away to Bayern Munich in their previous group game.
That defeat means another loss in Milan would suddenly leave Xavi Hernandez’s side with a lot of work to do to reach the last 16 of the competition, and Barca’s delicate financial situation means they cannot afford to miss out on the knockout stages.
Xavi still has a long list of injuries to contend with, as Ronald Araujo, Hector Bellerin and Memphis Depay all miss out again, but Frenkie de Jong may be able to play, while Sergi Roberto and Eric Garcia are also likely to come into the side. Gavi will also play after suffering a minor injury scare in Saturday’s 1-0 win in Mallorca,...

Madrid (Spain), Sep 30 (Ians) Injuries have affected the plans of Fc Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez ahead of his side’s visit to play Mallorca on Saturday.
The international break saw Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Memphis Depay and Frenkie De Jong all pick up injuries (long-term ones in the case of Araujo and Depay), while Kounde and De Jong are unlikely to be fit for Saturday.
To make matters worse for Xavi, right back Hector Bellerin suffered a calf injury in training and is also out of action for between two to three weeks.
That means Sergi Roberto is almost certain to start on the right of the Barcelona defense, although the fact he is recovering from injury means Eric Garcia could be asked to move across from central defense, with Gerard Pique partnering Andreas Christensen at the heart of the back line.

Madrid, Sep 27 (Ians) Spain face a vital match in Portugal on Tuesday night with a place in the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League at stake, but also with eyes on the more immediate future.
La Roja need to win in Portugal to ensure their spot in the final phase of the Nations League, but after their 2-1 defeat at home to Switzerland on Saturday, coach Luis Enrique also needs a good result to take to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Spain will kick off their World Cup campaign against Costa Rica on November 23, with only a friendly against Jordan on November 17 as preparation for the main event, and that leaves Luis Enrique very little time to sort out some major problems which were evident on Saturday, reports Xinhua.
The coach has the excuse that some players who in normal circumstances would be in the squad — including Mikel Oyarzabal,...

Madrid (Spain), Sep 15 (Ians) The last round of matches in La Liga before the international break is starting to look vital for three top-flight coaches, while the Madrid Derby is the highlight of the weekend.
Real Madrid visit Atletico Madrid with a 100 percent record in both La Liga and the Champions League after their hard-fought victory against Rb Leipzig on Wednesday.
The big questions ahead of the match are whether Karim Benzema will have recovered from the muscle injury which saw him sit out the Leipzig game and last weekend’s win at home to Mallorca, while Atletico fans are wondering if it is time to change the policy towards Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico’s loan agreement with Barcelona for the French striker means they have to pay 40 million euros at the end of the season if Griezmann plays more than 45 minutes in a certain percentage of matches.

Madrid, Sep 14 (Ians) Fc Barcelona on Wednesday confirmed that 18-year-old Spain international Pablo Martin Paez Gavira ‘Gavi’ has agreed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the end of June 2026.
Gavi’s contract ends months of speculation over his future, with talks bogged down partly due to limitations of the wage ceiling imposed on Barcelona by La Liga, but the departure of Miralem Pjanic to the United Arab Emirates a week ago freed up salary to allow the deal to be completed, reports Xinhua.
The fact that Gavi didn’t celebrate his 18th birthday until August 5 also meant he couldn’t sign a professional contract, despite making 57 first team appearances for the club and playing 10 times for the Spain national team.
The new deal contains a release clause of one billion euros, the same as other Barca players, such as Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Ronald Araujo,...

Juba, Sep 13 (Ians) Backed by the World Health Organization (Who), South Sudan’s Ministry of Health announced the launch pf a reactive measles vaccination campaign targeting 37,390 children aged between six months and 14 years.
In a joint statement, the Ministry and Who said that the exercise is underway in Juba County which has a history of recurring measles outbreaks with one outbreak confirmed in 2017 and a more recent one in 2019, reports Xinhua news agency.
The campaign aims to achieve at least 95 per cent coverage to interrupt the ongoing transmission of the measles virus in the county.
Acting Who Representative for South Sudan Fabian Ndenzako said Covid-19 has disrupted immunization programs around the world, increasing the risk of severe outbreaks.
“Vaccine remains the most cost-effective preventive measure against measles. Thanks to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the ongoing reactive campaign focused on building immunity among over 37,000 children who are vulnerable to measles infections and its complications,...
