Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s fourteenth episode, two time competitor and veteran “Pit Stop” guest Mo Heart rejoins Trixie for another chatty recap. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their conversation, Mo shares that they were in love with Xunami Muse this season and expected her to make the final four. Mo also knows Q personally and agrees with Trixie that her looks are “ridiculous” because “the boy can sew,” thinks Morphine Love Dion was sickening “from the moment she walked in,” and that the Sapphira Cristál “stumble” last episode gives the other girls a chance to win.

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s eleventh episode, the Etb for guacamole on Taco Tuesday queen of “All Stars 8” Jessica Wild stopped by the studio for her first recap experience. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Jessica and Trixie agreed that Sapphira Cristál is a queen they would be intimidated to compete against because she’s so successful in many areas, and of course Trixie wanted to know Jessica’s thoughts on Morphine Love Dion‘s makeup skills. Referring to the mini challenge, Jessica said that Plane Jane is the most delusional on the cast and Trixie made the point that delusional drag queens are not a bad thing.

Following Friday’s tenth episode, season 14 finalist Angeria Paris VanMichaels stopped by to share her thoughts on “Werq the World,” a tour she’s participated in herself. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Angeria backed Dawn and Morphine Love Dion up for being “so irritated” that they don’t have a challenge win to their name yet, but she was not forgiving of Nymphia Wind‘s ongoing reputation for feigning insecurity during challenge prep because it’s happened too many times. On her own chances competing in this challenge, Angeria said that she would have handled the “funk” aspect really well and she’s capable of singing and dancing. She also spoke very highly of...

Following Friday’s ninth episode, season 15 finalist and “Drag Race” superfan girlie Luxx Noir London makes her recap debut. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Luxx tells Trixie that she’s enjoying the new season and claims credit for the “Rate a Queen” twist because of how she rated the girls on her own season. Once again, Trixie wants to gag over how flawless Morphine Love Dion‘s makeup skills are and Luxx agrees that she’s “the mug of the season.” They also understand Dawn and Sapphira Cristál growing frustrated with their placements near the top because while they’re very good at their own crafts, other queens with more wins like Plasma, Q...

Following Friday’s eighth episode, reigning champion and Mother of season 15 Sasha Colby makes her recap debut to break down this season’s “Snatch Game” performances. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Sasha and Trixie have fun addressing the “unsolicited shade” of this season and how even when Plane Jane calls anyone “sister” feels like subtle shade as well. Sasha gives Jane some defense by admitting that as drag queens they all “just have a crippling desire for people to love us” and Jane is no different. When it came to the reading challenge of her season, Sasha was impressed by Loosey Laduca and Malaysia Babydoll Foxx; this season the standouts for her were Jane and Xunami Muse.

Following Friday’s seventh episode, musician and one-time judge of the show Orville Peck makes his “Pit Stop” debut. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Orville tells Trixie that he’s watched the show since season one and she shares that he acts like a drag queen when they spend time together in their personal life. Orville calls season 5 his favorite of all time because of how classic their “Untucked” episodes were. The two share commentary on large makeup like Dawn‘s considering former contestants like Trixie, Mimi Imfurst and Bianca Del Rio had to explain their “club kid makeup” back then, but now queens like Dawn and the Methyd family just get to exist.

Following Friday’s sixth episode, season 12 finalist Crystal Methyd stops by to “welcome the girls to the family” by “judging their awful outfits.” Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Crystal confirms that she’s rooting for her Missouri sister Q and that after a few episodes she finally gets the “character” of Plane Jane and is hoping for her to get in a physical fight. Crystal likens Jane to her own drag family member Daya Betty, saying she “knows what she’s in there to do,” but admits that she doesn’t like “Burger Finger” and doesn’t have as clear of a point of view with her drag as other girls like Dawn and Plasma.

Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, both Trixie and Maddy gave Q grace for her emotional reaction to being safe yet again because they see her as someone so very close to a win that they can understand the sting of not getting it. When it comes to Plane Jane‘s villain edit, Trixie can appreciate that Jane shouldn’t “punch down” in her comments on Amanda Tori Meating‘s drag, but at the end of the day it’s making good cat fights that we haven’t seen on the show in a while.

RuPaul’s Drag Race has entertained audiences around the world since its debut in 2009, and the series has only continued to explode all over the globe with international spin-offs. Every episode of Drag Race culminates in a lip sync battle between two (or more) queens to some beloved hit songs. But throughout all those years, Beyoncé songs were notably absent from the lip syncs. In recent years, however, Bey has become a more common lip sync artist.

Beyoncé has been a part of popular culture for over two decades, first as a member of Destiny’s Child and later as a solo star. But despite her worldwide fame and hallowed place in the LGBTQ community, Beyoncé songs were notably absent from RuPaul’s Drag Race for many years.

Is there any better way to kick off a party than to have Lizzo, fresh off an Emmy win for Outstanding Reality Competition, walk into the building to the band playing her own hit “About Damn Time,” moving her to run over and christen the dancefloor?
The afterparties for the 2022 Primetime Emmys started with the Governors Gala, which happened outdoors at L.A. The massive venue, basically a city block filled with bars and food stations at every corner, was space for Emmys host Kenan Thompson to take a victory lap, and the first stop for many winners, including Lizzo and Quinta Brunson and Sheryl Lee Ralph of “Abbott Elementary.” The latter pair moved through the party surrounded by a swarm of well-wishers almost certainly cementing that the ABC sitcom...

This story about “RuPaul’s Drag Race” first appeared in the Limited Series/Movies issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Fourteen seasons in and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is still sparking cultural conversations. Take the one that cropped up in January before the Season 14 premiere, when word broke that the long-running VH1 franchise would be introducing the show’s first straight male drag queen, Maddy Morphosis.
What, some fans of the show wondered, was a straight guy doing on a competition that is a celebration of the queer community?
“It’s not the first cisgender man who has auditioned for “Drag Race,” but it’s the first one who we felt like their drag was really authentic. It was really good,” executive producer Tom Campbell said. “Maddy challenged people in a really positive way and made for interesting conversations among my friend groups and the fans of the show. On this 14th season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” RuPaul Charles put 14 queens through her annual gauntlet of lipsync smackdowns, comedy roasts and game shows, soap opera spoofs, mini and maxi challenges, library reads and chocolate bar unwrapping to find “America’s next drag superstar.” In the end, only five queens remained with a chance to snatch the coveted crown and scepter. Was it Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden or Willow Pill that had the right mix of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent that Ru was looking for?

In the wise words of Shangela, "halleloo!"
The reunion format we knew and loved returned on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 15. And the queens delivered an entertaining night that kept us fed with all the delicious drama.
Tea was spilled. Emotions were felt. Arguments got yelled. "Reunited!" served the reunion we sorely missed.
There's something about getting the queens in a room together to dish the dirt that can't be topped.
Reunions that feel real and raw stand out amongst the best in reality TV, and Drag Race has served up plenty of amazing ones. Like, the reunion on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 will forever set the standard for the modern Drag Race reunion.
A great mix of emotional throwbacks and spicy drama to keep us hooked. You could say it gets our "fan favorite" award!
Plus, anything that erases the trainwreck that was RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 15 is a blessing in my book.

With the Daytona Winds still lingering in the atmosphere, Drag Race‘s nine remaining queens stepped out of the stink on Friday — and into the spotlight.
But first, RuPaul finally opened the library, giving the Season 14 queens a chance to read each other for filth. And let me tell you, these girls are literate. A design challenge has claimed another unlucky queen on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 6.
If a queen doesn't know how to put together an outfit or has an eye for fashion, they'll quickly be walking out the door. There's only so much personality they can show before the lack of craftiness rears its ugly head.
Unfortunately, the latest eliminated queen had a history of underwhelming outfits. And just like that runway ensemble, this round felt underwhelming as well.
"Glamazon Prime" was more filler than fire.
When the entire focus centers around the prep for the Maxi Challenge runway, the pacing takes a massive hit in the process. There are only so many chats about materials and outfits before it becomes repetitive.
And beyond Jorgeous' last-minute scramble to create a new look or Daya Betty snapping at Willow Pill, the Werk Room construction didn't have much weight to it.

There has been a lot of discussion on the internet regarding last weeks episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race for two main reasons. Firstly, people can’t seem to get over the fact that Keri Colbi decided to wear Jennifer Lopez’s actual Versace outfit on the runway (you know that green one that broke the internet!) for the Jlo inspired category. As Keri ended up the bottom two of the episode and then preceded to lip-sync in the flowy outfit which, If it was me, I would be so worried about ruining the genuine dress. The second reason everyone is still talking about last weeks episode is regarding the queen who battled against Keri in this lip-sync. After under-performing in the acting challenge Alyssa Hunter was placed in the bottom and eventually eliminated from the competition. I personally thought that Alyssa was going to go so much further...

In episode 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14, RuPaul Charles divided the queens into two groups to write and film superteaser spoofs in promotion of their own season. The comedy acting challenge was an opportunity to see the girls break out of their comfort zone and get a little bit “ugly,” but Kerri Colby kept to her own pretty ways and Alyssa Hunter played her character in one and only one note. In a decision the audience did not agree with, the judges sent Alyssa home, leaving only 12 queens to continue to compete for the crown.
This week, the remaining queens divide into groups yet again to create public service announcements aimed at protecting the careers of our dearly departed queens, gone too soon. Read below for our recap of episode 5 to see the return of Tempest DuJour, Jaymes Mansfield and Kahmora Hall in “Save a Queen.”

There’s really no shortage of ways to leave RuPaul’s Drag Race. You can sashay away with dignity after losing a lip sync, you can get disqualified for breaking the rules, you can fall on your own stiletto and send yourself home, or as we saw with one fan-favorite queen on Friday, you can be knocked out of the game due to an injury.
Needless to say, Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté‘s fellow contestants were gagged when the frontrunner appeared via video message to inform them that she rolled her ankle during last week’s acting challenge and needs...

I had to admit I do feel very sorry for June Jambalaya, who was the first queen to leave Drag Race this season. Her elimination comes right after we saw two previously eliminated queens get a second chance to compete in the race and Ru Paul introducing the new magic chocolate bar twist which means at least one other queen will get also get a second chance at some point in this season. So after a minimum of three queens were given a magic save, June was told that she had to leave the race. After the episode had repeatedly talked about second chances, she was the first officially eliminated which, if I were her, I would be incredibly frustrated about! As a viewer, I was really enjoying her African inspired drag that she had showcased in her limited time in the show and I can’t wait to see...

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Monét X Change runs down the tricks and trades of the newest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with a guest host. Following Friday’s fourth episode, Laganja Estranja defends Jasmine Kennedie, who took a lot of heat from the girls this week for her self-focused communication. Laganja is #TeamJasmine for bringing the drama and showing up authentically. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
Also in the episode, Monét gives Maddy Morphosis a hard time for taking so long to get comfortable in the competition (including a questionable choice for the JLo runway) and they share the perspective that having Carson Kressley and Michelle Visage on set as directors is an intimidating experience. As far as the super teaser final products, Laganja thought that Willow’s group was a cut above and that everyone had a moment.

In episode 3 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14, RuPaul Charles switched things up by bringing Orion Story and Daya Betty back into the competition after they were eliminated in the two-part season premieres. As Ru explained, their re-entry into the game did not come with strings, but rather with chocolate. Each of the queens chose a chocolate bar to hold on to throughout the competition, only to be opened upon their elimination for one last chance to be saved by the drag gods. After 42 looks walked the runway in a “pair of balls,” June Jambalaya fell to the bottom, lost the lipsync to Maddy Morphosis and opened the first bar. “It’s chocolate,” she said, and was sent home.

In this week’s sneak peak of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14 episode 4, Jasmine Kennedie, one of the many “safe” queens after last week’s fashion ball episode, begins to rub the other queens the wrong way with her communication style. Watch the full sneak peek preview video above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
Returning to the Werk Room from their first fashion ball, Jasmine spoke to herself in front of the other queens about the reasons why she thought she should have been better than “safe.” She even shed a few tears over the expectation she had for herself that she would have won the ball of her season. You get the sense from the other girls’ reactions that Jasmine’s focus on her own performance is self-centered in an off-putting face. Once RuPaul Charles made the decision to bring back Orion Story and Daya Betty in this week’s third episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” another queen’s fate was sealed as the new pork chop of the season. Based on her weak presentation of three animal print looks in the Hide n Chic fashion ball and a messy lipsync performance against Maddy Morphosis, June Jambalaya became the first eliminated queen of season 14. We asked in a recent poll if that was the right decision, and sure enough Ru and the other judges made the right call. Scroll down for your complete poll results at the bottom of this post.

RuPaul Charles twisted the competition of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14 in this week’s third episode by bringing back Orion Story and Daya Betty, the queens eliminated in the two-part premiere. With their re-entry, the field of queens shot back up to 14 and the main stage was set for a new queen to become this season’s pork chop as the first official elimination. After walking in three different looks, June Jambalaya was the queen the judges thought dropped the (fashion) ball. Do You think June was the right choice to be eliminated or should one of the other 13 girls have gone home instead?

In part one and part two of the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 14 premiere, the new set of queens were split into two groups and two queens sashayed away early. After failing to stand out in their talent show performances and their chances to save themselves in lip syncs, Orion Story and Daya Betty became the pork chops of the season.
This week, RuPaul Charles brought all of the girls together for the first time, but kept them in their groups as they strutted the catwalk wearing three different looks two fashion balls. Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race finally brought all of Season 14’s remaining queens face to face in the werkroom, though we’re using the word “remaining” pretty loosely.
Because RuPaul loves to remind us that it’s her show and she can do whatever she damn well pleases, she also brought back Orion Story and Daya Betty for a second shot at the crown. I wasn’t especially thrilled to see the past two weeks’ eliminations reversed, but it was totally worth it to witness the look on Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté’s face when Daya accepted...

It's double trouble for RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 2. Does anyone see deja vu?
The split premiere format welcomed a new batch of seven queens into the Werk Room to strut their stuff and show off their talents. Same structure, same pacing, and same season premiere glow, just with new faces in the mix.
Did the seven new queens steal the show? Or did RuPaul's Drag Race Season 14 Episode 1 set the bar too high?
Split premieres are a great way to get to know the queens. We learn their talents, get an idea of their drag personas and what fashion they're bringing to the main stage.
"Big Opening No. 2" was no exception. The second premiere week captured the same fun frenzy we had expected from a split premiere.
Though, the thrill of the uncertainty doesn't hit the same punch when we've already experienced this same round.
Oh this, y’all?...
