Brother of Bengie Molina and Yadier Molina. Their father was inducted into Puerto Rico Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame on the same day José and Bengie won the World Series with Anaheim.
Selected in the 14th round by the Chicago Cubs in 1993.
As a backup catcher for the New York Yankees, Jose became the third Molina brother to win a World Series ring when the Yankees won the Series in 2009. Bengie won with the Angels in 2002 and Yadier won with the Cardinals in 2006.
