While many couples and lovebirds will be going to the theaters to see Fifty Shades Darker on Valentine's Day, there has been a growing cult of people who enjoy watching horror films on this holiday. If you or your significant other enjoy this type of film and prefer celebrating Valentine's Day at home, I suggest watching The Tribe.
The Tribe becomes available today on iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play/YouTube, Vudu, Xbox Live, Sony PlayStation, and Vimeo on Demand.
The Tribe centers on a family of three young sisters, played by Jessica Rothe, Anne Winters, and Chloe Beth Jones. The siblings live out their days after a pandemic has consumed most of the known world. One day a stranger, played by Michael Nardelli, suddenly shows up; and their world changes in ways they never could have imagined.

The indie horror title Ascent to Hell has been completed. Recently, the film was at Cannes, France. Here, Ascent to Hell was shown before sales agent Apl Films. As well, the film was shown to distributors, for a future release. This title looks at a real life tragedy, the New York Triangle Factory Fire, in which hundreds of workers were killed or injured, while working in a rundown sweatshop. The film, from director Dena Hysell, stars Azura Skye (One Missed Call), Bill Sage (We Are What We Are), John Randall Hennigan (aka WWE’s Johnny Nitro) and Cayleb Long. The film's first ominous graphic is hosted here. The story begins with Kate (Skye). She is set to close a lucrative real estate deal, with a wealthy investment manager (Sage). However, the plans are put to the side as the duo experience strange going-ons, in an old building. Now, they must...

Apl Film have announced they have acquired the international sales rights to Rumpus Room Productions and Elpis Film’s thriller/horror, Ascent to Hell. Sales are currently underway at Cannes Film Market, and we have your first look at the international sales key art/poster.
Kate (Skye), an ambitious commercial real estate agent has her sights set on a big contract, with a wealthy investment manager (Sage). The deal is lucrative, but it is suddenly on the rocks as Kate and Mr. Browning, and the rest of the people involved in the deal must survive a mysterious supernatural trap. In order to escape with their lives, Kate must find the clues to the building’s past.
Inspired by the New York Triangle Factory Fire, which left hundreds of female workers dead, Ascent to Hell is a classic ghost story about this former sweatshop and the ghosts that are trying to escape.

There's another film on the way taking the moniker of The Factory. Not to be confused with the John Cusack-starring thriller which hit DVD this year, The Factory is a film by Dena Hysell and it's set to star Azura Skye (American Horror Story), Bill Sage and John Hennigan, says Variety.
According to the outlet, the film "chronicles a group considering buying an old factory who then get trapped inside trying to escape the demons from the factory’s past."

What would horror be like without women? It would suck ass. Sure, a big guy is intimidating, but women as killers (or their creators) make everything so much more interesting. Which is why we're happy to remind you it's Women in Horror Month, time to give blood - and cash - to charity.
As it has in the past, Women in Horror Month is sponsoring a Massive Blood Drive as a way to motivate us to get out and give blood - the medical way so it can be reused, not the splatter all over the floor way! To book an appointment, call 1-888-z-donate.
In addition Gratwick Films has taken up the charitable torch and started a fundraising campaign for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation based around its film The Perfect House.
Women in Horror Month, led by founder Hannah Neurotica, is now in its third year and going strong.

Although we all know her from The Office, Jenna Fischer and dipped her toe into the film world with supporting roles in such films as Blades of Glory, Walk Hard, and most recently, Hall Pass. Her next film, in wihch she has a lead role, actually did a festival run in 2010 and will now see a limited release. From The King of Queens executive producer and writer Michael J. Weithorn comes A Little Help. It looks like a perfectly harmless, if predicable, light comedy. I don’t trust any recommendation from Pete Hammond, but I may eventually check this out.
Fischer stars next to Chris O’Donnell, Rob Benedict, Daniel Yelsky, Kim Coates, Brooke Smith, Lesley Ann Warren, Ron Leibman , Zach Page, Arden Myrin, Aida Turturro, Michelle Hurst , Michael J. Weithorn, Dena Hysell, and Joe Gressis. Check out the trailer and poster below via Apple.

Mickey Rourke is going from taking hits in the ring to doling out hits himself.
The Oscar nominee for "The Wrestler" is set to star in "St. Vincent" for Occupant Films and Secret Handshake Entertainment.
He'll play a hit man who returns to New York to complete a botched hit. Masquerading as a priest, he finds himself hearing the confession of the man who he is targetting.
Walter Hill, who directed Rourke in the 1989 gangster tale "Johnny Handsome," is helming the project, based on an original script by Cameron Young.
Production is slated to begin later this year. Stuart Ford's Im Global is currently selling international rights outside of North America, while Icm, which also reps Rourke and Hill, handles North American rights.
Occupant's Keith Calder, Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino and Secret Handshake's Dena Hysell and Joe Gressis will produce.
