- In an interview, Debbie said she was only 14 years old when she first came to American Bandstand. Dick Clark separately confirmed the first appearance date as 1970.
- On a reunion special of American Bandstand, Debbie mentioned her husband Gary Wayne and having her new baby boy, Daniel Peter. She said Gary was then with the Los Angeles Police Department. A later Bandstand episode referred to Debbie as a mother of four in Southern California.
- Debbie's regular dance partner on American Bandstand was Louie Novoa. They danced together from 1972 to either 1977 or 1979 depending on which Bandstand special you believe. The earlier special said it's 1977 while the later one said 1979. That later special credited her as Deb-E-Chaffin.
- In an Entertainment Weekly article from 1996, Debbie said her tenure on American Bandstand once led to a chaperoned date at age 17 with Merrill Osmond of The Osmonds. Debbie is referred to as Debbie Chaffin Paré in the article.
- On several episodes of American Bandstand, Debbie was said to be from Glendale, California.
