In 2020 Troy founded billycartco. It's a dynamic, Australian creative ideas studio conceived to develop high quality, production-ready, engaging children's screen entertainment with lovable individual characters and magical storytelling at its heart. The focus of billycartco. is to engage young kids during screen time by keeping them connected, entertained, and creative while encouraging their desire to share their viewing experiences.
Troy began his career in television as an Art Director for SBS Television in Sydney, Australia. He then became Art Director of Daytime Emmy® nominated series 'Hi-5 USA' for Discovery Kids. Troy then spearheaded the 'Hooley Dooley's' rebrand, defining the 'How 2' series in conjunction with Warner Bros Home Entertainment. Troy also created the landmark live-action series 'The Dandy Lionz' - all singing, all rock, all 'live-action entertainers' troupe developed for the screen in conjunction with Essential Media, including touring live throughout Australia, Asia, and the Middle East.
Troy re-established 'Powerkids - Brisbane's Annual Children's Festival' as Festival Director, commissioning new theatre works and live performance experiences for children, he engaged well known established brands like 'Yo Gabba Gabba' and 'Peppa Pig' for performance seasons at the festival and Australian tours. For Brisbane Festival, Troy commissioned and programmed international performances for the Family Program at the festival hub and in various pop up venues around Brisbane, including the 'Spiegeltent', where he also produced and developed the acclaimed cabaret 'Bang! Bang!' featuring Australia's darling Rhonda Burchmore.
Troy is a design graduate of NIDA [National Institute of Dramatic Art] and in 2007 was awarded the Mike Walsh Travel Scholarship where he first traveled to kidscreen summit in NYC, to network to pitch, and begin his career as an emerging creator of screen content for children across the world.
