Scott Eathorne is an Australian entertainment publicist and
award-winning filmmaker based in Melbourne.
While studying a BA in Communications (Marketing Major) at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Scott's passion for independent film led him to begin a relationship with New-York based production company Velveteen Films. He assisted with publicity for the US release of their first feature film A Touch of Fate, starring Desperate Housewives Teri Hatcher. Scott then assisted on-location with publicity for the company's next feature, Shooting Livien, starring Jason Behr, Dominic Monaghan and Australian actress Sarah Wynter. He produced the EPK for the film (included on the US DVD release), and was also the publicist for the film's Australian release. Scott is now publicist and Associate Producer for Velveteen's next feature, Hickory Nation, starring Kris Kristofferson, Molly Sims, Aimee Teegarden, Brian White and Jesse James.
In 2006 Scott set up Quikmark Media, taking on clients in the film, music and publishing industries. It was also around this time that Scott wrote what would be his first financed short film through Quikmark, Selling Hopkins, funded by Screen Australia and The Film & Television Institute. The quirky dramedy world premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival, and has emerged as an audience favorite, winning awards and gathering rave reviews internationally. It is currently available for sale on Indieflix. Scott's second short film, a dark drama entitled Mockingbird, earned him the Best Screenplay award at the 2009 WA Screen Awards and continues screening at festivals around the world. Scott is currently writing his first feature film project.
Through Quikmark Media Scott focuses on entertainment public relations and continues to work with industry clients in Australia and the USA.
