The greatest thing about the body-swap movies is that nobody expects anything else from them than being entertaining. Unless they aspire to bring some big message across (bad idea), they are designed to make the audience either laugh or shudder. That said, not everyone has Carl Rainer's ability to make a screwball comedy like “All of Me” (1984), blessed with hilarious dialogues and unforgettable performances by Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin, nor the creepy vision of a body swap penned by Mike Werb and Michael Colleary for John Woo's “Face Off”, with John Travolta in his scariest role so far. It is clear that all of them, be it good or bad use the proved recipes with the same basic ingredients, because what else can you do in a body swap movie, then swapping people in each other's bodies? The opposites always qualify for the plot, and fine seasoning is needed to make it work,...

Yes, the premise is pretty goofy. And, yes, I’m well aware of how awful this film could turn out to be. However, I’m more than willing to give Hyo-jin Kang’s “Revolver Gangster Gang” the benefit of the doubt. The first full-length trailer, which has been embedded below for your cinematic convenience, is an amusing way to waste about two minutes of your questionably precious time. And despite the obvious language barrier, it’s pretty easy to see that the cast and crew aren’t taking this silly concept — think “The Golden Girls” meet “Set It Off” — very seriously. The film opens in South Korea this March, with a DVD to follow at some point during the summer.

Wearing its unlikely plot - of three very senior citizen lady bank robbers - with pride, its full length trailer time for Hyo-jin Kang’s Korean action comedy Revolver Gangster Gang. Alas again it’s not English subbed, so lots of the comedy is lost in the dialog, but the great visual (keep an eye out for the embroidered Pistol cosies) gags are open to all.

I’m a sucker for a heist flick, especially if the picture in question is coated with a thick layer of comedy. Doesn’t matter what brand of comedy, really, just as long as there’s some sort of chuckle-inducing levity to be found in the story. Judging from the trailer posted blow, “My Wife is a Gangster” director Hyo-jin Kang’s latest effort “Revolver Gangster Gang” promises to be just as off-beat as the filmmaker’s previous endeavors. How could you possibly go wrong with a bunch of old ladies robbing banks? Think “Steel Magnolias” meets “Bandits”, or “The Cemetery Club” by way of “Heat”. Regardless of how you pitch the idea to yourself in the bathroom mirror, the movie looks entertaining, and I’m all about being entertained. “Revolver Gangster Gang” will hit Korean theaters this March. Several posters and the aforementioned teaser lie below. Huge kudos to...

If we weren’t already sold on the idea of ‘My Wife Is a Gangster’ director Hyo-jin Kang’s latest quirky criminal themed action comedy Revolver Gangster Gang - about three very mature international lady bank robbers - then the fantastic new teaser posters for the film, would have pretty much sealed the deal. It all looks like highly enjoyable nonsense, and its released in Korea in March.
