Scarlett Lewis suffered every parent's nightmare when a gunman opened fire on a December morning in 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School, killing her six-year-old son, Jesse, and 19 other children. Now, months later, a San Diego-based musician is helping her celebrate Jesse's short life with three new ballads. "Jesse is a song to me, a beautiful melody that God gave me the music for and helped to write the words here on earth," Scarlett, 46, wrote in a letter to author and musician Alex Woodard. "His is a song about grace, beauty, light, and love, always." Inspired by the heartfelt words in...

New Found Glory. The name, for the twenty-somethings, will bring back happy, hazy memories of drunken teenage nights, unashamedly singing the band’s popular songs ‘My Friend’s Over You’ or ‘Head On Collision’ at the top of their voices. For the more musically knowledged and experienced thirty-somethings, the band represent a change in pop-punk. They are a band who made, and still continue to make, a deep groove in the pop-punk genre; a band who, while citing their influences and making them all too clear at times, made a sound their own and opened doors for future bands. An example of a band who have cited New Found Glory as an influence, and who have ‘made it’ is the hardcore band ‘A Day To Remember’. Let’s not forget the teenagers of today, either. Especially the ones who’re just starting to develop an ear for music. New Found Glory...

New Found Glory’s 1999 debut, Nothing Gold Can Stay, snuck beneath the radar to become a massive influence on the new millennium’s eruption of emo-soaked pop-punk. Since then, the Florida outfit has miraculously retained the same five members, the same steady pace of releases, and the same bouncy/bittersweet dynamic. It’s also stuck religiously to its chunky, melodic sound, and the new Radiosurgery is no different. That said, the group’s sixth full-length is the first since frontman Jordan Pundik and crew entered their 30s, and it’s starting to show. While steeped in New Found Glory ...

A viral hit song "Bed Intruder", which features heavily auto-tuned Antoine Dodson discussing an attack on his sister Kelly, has reached million views on YouTube and inspired Hayley Williams to hit the studio. The Paramore frontwoman made a "pop punk cover" of the track along with two pals New Found Glory's Jordan Pundik and Relient K's Ethan Luck.
The three recorded it in Nashville at Ethan's house. He wrote on his blog, "With all this hype of Antoine Dodson around the Internet, a couple friends of mine and I thought it would be fun to do our own version of 'Bed Intruder.' Everything was recorded at my home studio while New Found Glory had a day off from tour here in Nashville. Hayley came over this evening to add the finishing touches."

Thanks a rather impassioned speech about an attempted rape in his neighborhood, Huntsville, Alabama resident Antoine Dodson has become an unwitting YouTube sensation over the past month. Footage of Dodson's tirade, which appeared on a local newscast, has racked up millions of views, inspired a slew of remixes (one of which even cracked the Billboard Hot 100) and earned him a rather fervent fanbase ... which, apparently, includes Paramore's Hayley Williams.
On Wednesday night, a "punk-rock cover" of Dodson's speech — featuring Williams on vocals, with assists from New Found Glory's Jordan Pundik and Relient K's Ethan Luck — was uploaded to YouTube.
The song opens with Williams quoting Dodson's notorious "rapist in Lincoln Park" line; she also tackles a verse later in the song.

After years of running on the major-label treadmill, New Found Glory seems to have found a fitting home at Epitaph. To those who’ve followed Nfg’s career path, however, the title Not Without A Fight signifies something more than just rebounding on a new label. Even though 2006’s Coming Home won critical acclaim for its matured, nuanced songwriting, the album disappointed many Nfg fans for just that reason. Not Without A Fight seems most likely to please this latter group—the Warped Tour generation that’s long been Nfg’s bread and butter. “Maturity” remains a guiding principle ...
