Akshay Kumar and action star Tiger Shroff, who are awaiting the release of their upcoming movie ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, are all geared up for the Indian Premier League (Ipl). There’s one problem, though.
As the defending champions Chennai Super Kings, led by M.S. Dhoni, square off against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, Akshay and Tiger get stuck when it comes to choosing their favourite as seen in the new Tata Ipl 2024 promo.
Engaging in banter Akshay and Tiger can be seen lending their support to the two dynamic rivals, with Akshay rallying behind Dhoni and the Csk, while Tiger places his bets on Kohli and the dynamic Rcb.
Speaking about the promo, Akshay said in a statement, “‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ is all about action and entertainment and so is Tata Ipl 2024. It was exciting to shoot a fun banter promo with my ‘Chote Miyan’ Tiger Shroff...

New Delhi, May 12 (Ians) With 576 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 157.8, there is no doubt that Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis has been the stand-out batter of Ipl 2023. In a batting line-up where Bangalore’s batting has been hugely dependent on him, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, du Plessis being the upfront enforcer in power-play has been refreshing to witness, according to former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith.
“He’s played so well and been great to watch. He’s really upped his aggression at the top of the order. He’s 38 right now and is looking very fit and has managed to adapt and keep up with youngsters in terms of the way there is need to play. We spoke about not having anchor batters, and he’s turned himself into an attacking, dynamic batter at the top of the order,” said Smith, an Ipl expert for JioCinema,...

Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar claimed that Sky’s form rubbed off on Wadhera but the youngster played his own shots.
Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Gavaskar said, “When you are batting with Sky your confidence is boosted, but the best thing about Nehal Wadhera’s innings was that he wasn’t looking to play shots like Sky. The...

Despite some strong individual performances in the absence of some of their main players, both Kolkata and Mumbai have six points each, and are placed seventh and eighth respectively on the points table.
Former India leg-spinner Anil Kumble, who was the head coach of Punjab Kings last year, believes the task for the two teams is a challenging one, but it is also something which is not impossible.
"I have been a part of teams which have been in the second half of the points table through the half-way stage. It’s not easy to catch up. But having said that, it’s not impossible either. So, at this stage of the tournament, you have to sort of refresh and reset and then see what is your best possible playing eleven.

Bengaluru, April 15 (Ians) Virat Kohli’s fine half-century (50 off 34), followed by impressive performances by pacers Vijaykumar Vyshak (3-20) and Mohammed Siraj 2-23) led Royal Challengers Bangalore to an important 23-run win over Delhi Capitals in the 20th match of the Ipl 2023 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, here on Saturday.
It was the fifth consecutive loss for the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals and they are yet to open their account in the ongoing season, lying at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, it was the second win for Rcb in four matches and they are in the seventh spot in the table.

Kolkata witnessed a glorious show from the home team as the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs.
Batting first, Kkr scored 204 runs in the first innings, led by Shardul Thakur’s rapid-fire 68 runs in 29 deliveries and Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s 57 runs.
Rcb started well but as the star opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis looked like getting into the groove, the spinners were introduced, and it was all Kkr show from thereon. Kolkata, April 7 (Ians) In their first home game of Ipl 2023 at a packed Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders were in tatters at 89/5 in 11.3 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore had David Willey and Karn Sharma picking up two wickets in as many balls, with many fearing an embarrassing defeat for Kkr.

That stunning turnaround set the base for Kkr to thrash Rcb by 81 runs to get their first win of the tournament.

Kohli had stepped down as the Rcb captain after the 2021 Ipl season, followed by exiting as the skipper of the Indian cricket team across all formats. Since September 2022, Kohli has been in a rich vein of form internationally to break a prolonged lean patch, and began the 2023 Ipl season strongly with an unbeaten 82 to help Rcb beat Mumbai Indians by eight wickets in their opening game.
"To be honest, I have not seen much change, everything is similar. The technique looks solid; he has got good balance at the crease. He is still that ‘busy’ player with a lot of energy at the wicket. Mumbai, March 21 (Ians) Mumbai Indians (Mi) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (Rcb) by four wickets in Match 19 of the Women’s Premier League (Wpl) on Tuesday at the D.Y Patil Stadium here to take the top spot.
With the win, Mumbai hold the provisional top spot and will have to wait for the result of the match between Delhi Capitals and Up Warriorz to ensure their direct qualification to the final.
Amelia Kerr mixed guile, flight, and turn to pick up three wickets (3-22) as a disciplined bowling effort from the Mi bowlers restricted Rcb to 125/9 in 20 overs. Yastika Bhatia then provided a good platform with a 26-ball 30 before Kerr’s calculated knock of 31 not out off 27 balls helped Mi seal the chase after a slight stutter in the middle.

Mumbai, March 18 (Ians) Royal Challenger Bangalore opener Sophie Devine said her familiarity with the Brabourne Stadium after playing a few matches there helped her blast a 36-ball 99 to help her team to an eight-wicket win against Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League (Wpl) here on Saturday.
Devine put up a brilliant display of power-hitting as she blasted a 36-ball 99, hitting some of the biggest sixes and became the top scorer in Wpl with 266 runs. She muscled her way to her half-century off just 20 balls, hitting six boundaries and four maximums as she gave Rcb a big start along with skipper Smriti Mandhana (37 off 31), setting Rcb on course to victory.

Dubai, Nov 4 (Ians) Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the reasons why Royal Challengers Bangalore have come out with a much-improved performance compared to other Indian Premier League (Ipl) seasons and have been able to seal a spot in the playoffs in the ongoing tournament.
Chahal has picked 20 wickets in 14 matches for Rcb this season and is currently in top-five in the list of leading wicket-takers this Ipl.
According to former New Zealand batsman Scott Styris, Chahal has deployed a couple of changes to his bowling style and has adjusted well to the conditions on offer in the United Arab Emirates which in turn has helped him scalp wickets at crucial junctures of the game for Rcb.

Dubai, Oct 6 (Ians) Delhi Capitals off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who restrained himself from 'mankading' Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Aaron Finch, has stated that this was the "first and final warning" of Ipl 2020 and he won't stop himself from running out a batsman at the non-strikers' end in the remaining part of the tournament.
"Let's make it clear!!! First and final warning for 2020. I am making it official and don't blame me later on. Ricky Ponting, #runout #nonstriker, Aaron Finch and I are good buddies by the way," Ashwin said in a tweet.

Abu Dhabi, Oct 3 (Ians) Royal Challengers Bangalore's (Rcb) Navdeep Saini had bowled a beamer at Rahul Tewatia in the last over of Rajasthan Royals' (Rr) innings that hit the latter on the neck and sent him crashing to the ground on Saturday.
While Tewatia got back on his feet and smashed consecutive sixes off the next two balls, social media users caught the words written on Saini's shoes -- "F*** it! Bowl Fast" -- while the bowler checked up on Tewatia.
While the TV camera focussed on Tewatia, the frame also caught Saini's shoes -- and the words "F*** it! Bowl Fast".
It is not the first time such a message has appeared in a cricket context. Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who played for Rcb in 2015, sported a similar message on his wrist band during a Test series against Pakistan in December 2019.

Dubai, Sep 24 (Ians) Kl Rahul ended up ripping the record books with his 132-run knock, which came off just 69 balls, on Thursday for Kings XI Punjab against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
It was the highest score by a captain in the Ipl and the highest ever by an Indian player in the history of the tournament. It also helped Kxip to a comprehensive 97-run win.
However, the 28-year-old revealed that he was not too confident about his batting before the match. "I have actually been not so confident. I had a chat with Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) yesterday and I said that I am not feeling completely in control of my batting. He said you must be joking, you are hitting really well," said Rahul in the post-match presentation ceremony in which he was also declared player of the match.

However, the 28-year-old revealed that he was not too confident about his batting before the match. "I have actually been not so confident. I had a chat with Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) yesterday and I said that I am not feeling completely in control of my batting. Dubai, Sep 24 (Ians) Riding on a blistering century skipper Kl Rahul, Kings XI Punjab thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 97 runs in an Ipl encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Rahul's unbeaten 132 off 69 balls helped Kxip post a mammoth 206/3 in 20 overs. In reply, Rcb were bowled out for 109 in 17 overs.
Rcb needed big contributions from their star-studded top order to stand a chance in the mammoth chase. But what ensued was far from it, as Rcb were reduced to 57/5 inside nine overs with the young Devdutt Padikkal (1), Aaron Finch (20), Josh Philippe (0), captain Virat Kohli (1) and Ab de Villiers (28) all back in the hut.
Mohammed Shami put the early breaks on the Rcb innings, giving away just 14 runs in the three overs he bowled and taking the wicket of Philippe. Sheldon Cottrell dismissed Padikkal in the very first over of the innings before claiming the all-important wicket of Kohli in the third.
