Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, which this week is a special Hidden Gems edition of the show featuring a lineup of matches never before seen on television! Let’s get into the review and see what went down…
Match #1: Samuray Del Sol def. Alan Angels The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:
It was an X-Division showcase as Alan Angels went one-on-one with Samuray Del Sol in Chicago, which was the site of this year’s historic Bound For Glory event. Despite Angels’ efforts to rip off the mask of Del Sol, he was unable to vanquish the Luchador. Del Sol would connect with Salida del Sol off the top rope to score his first singles victory in Impact Wrestling.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Mk Ultra def. Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:

Universal has landed the Christmas comedy package for Naughty, which is set to be directed by Olivia Wilde and is based on a script by Jimmy Warden.
Warden will continue writing the screenplay for Universal, while producing along with Wilde on the project. There is no word on casting, but the synopsis from Universal points to a mother, Mallory, whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trash-bag ex is to find Santa Claus and convince him to testify in her divorce hearing.
Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara will produce through the LuckyChap banner after their success with Barbie. Wilde most recently directed, starred in and produced Don’t Worry Darling, which went on to earn around $90 million worldwide.
Don’t Worry Darling also starred Florence Pugh and Harry Styles and premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it dominated media attention.

Hollywood is leaving milk and cookies out for Olivia Wilde this holiday season with news that she’s striking a deal with LuckyChap to direct Naughty, a comedy described as Bridesmaids in the North Pole. Cocaine Bear writer Jimmy Warden wrote the script with Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara, producing through LuckyChap.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, Naughty follows Mallory, whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trashbag ex is to find Santa Claus in the North Pole and convince him to testify in her divorce hearing.
In case you forgot, LuckyChap produced Barbie, which earned $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office. Combine Barbie‘s success level with Wilde’s in-demand status as a filmmaker, and you’ve got a recipe for making money fall in a blizzard-like fashion.
Wilde’s next film is the biographical sports drama Perfect, starring McKenna Grace and Thomasin McKenzie.

Don’t worry darling, Olivia Wilde is back with another movie: a Christmas comedy titled “Naughty” and backed by Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap.

Match #1: Bobby Lashley def. Butch The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After being abandoned last week by Brawling Brutes teammate Ridge Holland, Butch was determined to prove himself as a solo competitor against Bobby Lashley. Despite an extraordinary effort from Butch, The All Mighty laid waste to his determined opponent with a wicked Spear.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Santos Escobar def. Joaquin Wilde The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Though Joaquin Wilde was looking for retribution for the vicious attack on WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar drove his former Lwo cohort into the canvas for the three-count. When Escobar attacked Wilde after the bell, however, Dragon Lee charged to the ring to make the save with a beatdown.

Antonio Banderas, Jean Reno, Harris Dickinson and Talk To Me breakout star Sophie Wilde join Nicole Kidman for erotic thriller Babygirl.
We’ve heard stories circulating for some time regarding A24’s Babygirl, having reported on the casting rumours as far back as March of this year.
Nicole Kidman’s name has always been attached to the project, and it seemed for a while like the film might get an exemption from SAG-AFTRA and shoot throughout the actors’ strike.
That didn’t happen, but the project now has an official production date and an intriguing cast that has also been announced, via The Hollywood Reporter, as appearing alongside Nicole Kidman in the production.

Horror often asks for a lot of empathy and understanding from its audience. It begs us not to roll our eyes when someone drops a weapon that might give them the upper hand or when they run upstairs and not out the perfectly safe backdoor. Some films, like The Strangers or Night of the Living Dead, create narrative reasons for questionable behavior, which works as we ride with the characters. But then there’s Talk to Me, which paints a painful portrait of someone going through it. Mia (Sophie Wilde) does a lot of which an audience might disagree, but the film excels because it makes her hurt palpable and, more importantly, understandable. Talk to Me makes cliché tropes feel real because it builds its foundation on heartbreak, loneliness, and the things we do to make ourselves feel better when everything feels hopeless.

“Talk to Me” is, unquestionably, the horror movie of the year. A fast, funny, very scary campfire story about a group of Australian teens who treat a cursed hand that opens a doorway to the spirit realm like a common party drug. (“One more time!”)
What makes the movie even more impressive is that it was directed by twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, known mostly for their YouTube channel RackaRacka (with nearly 7 million subscribers), full of prankish, impish content that still exhibits a technical knowledge and playful willingness to experiment. (A video simply titled “DC vs Marvel (Avengers Battle)” has 74 million views.)
The Philippou brothers went from YouTube to having their movie released by A24. A24 is also, of course, putting out a limited-edition line of merchandise. And you know what? They seem thrilled.
TheWrap spoke to the Philippou boys on the day that “Talk to Me” hit theaters and they were overjoyed.

Though Olivia Wilde has had a few major long-term romances - including with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis and ex-husband Tao Ruspoli - none have been quite as high-profile as her romance with Harry Styles.
Styles and Wilde were first linked in 2021 while they were working together on the film "Don't Worry Darling," which Wilde directed and Styles starred in. The two initially attempted to keep their romance low-key, but after it went public, their relationship wound up being a major topic of conversation in the buildup to "Don't Worry Darling"'s release. Styles and Wilde reportedly split in November 2022, though it seems some aspects of their relationship have remained intact - including a possible tattoo Styles may have gotten in honor of Wilde, which fans spotted in photos shared on July 31.
Prior to Wilde, Styles was linked to the likes of Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner, though most of those relationships were kept relatively private.

Adelaide teens take an occult party game too far in this terrific debut from Australian YouTube celebrities (and twin brothers) Danny and Michael Philippou. Inventive, creepy and confidently directed, it’s one of the best horror films of the year.
After a deeply disturbing prologue, shot in an impressive single take, the film centres on Mia (Sophie Wilde), who’s grown more and more distant from her father (Marcus Johnson) since the traumatic loss of her mother, two years previously. Accordingly, Mia spends most of her time at her best friend Jade’s (Alexandra Jensen) house, which is slightly awkward, because Jade is dating Mia’s ex-boyfriend, Daniel (Otis Dhanji).

Actress Olivia Wilde has been having a difficult time getting over former boyfriend Harry Styles lately. Following their whirlwind romance and release of their film, ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ last year, they went separate ways.
Styles is currently wrapping up his world tour, but appears to be far from Wilde’s mind at present, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
The actress was recently seen out-and-about on a coffee date with a friend and despite recent rumours that Styles is rejecting her continued advances, Olivia seemed to be totally unfazed.
In the streets of Los Angeles, she was seen wearing a casual striped tank top and baggy jeans. She dolled up the look with a simple gold necklace and tote.
As per ‘Mirror.co.uk’, it wasn’t too long ago, though, that her outfit told a different story.
In June, Wilde was spotted wearing what appeared to be Styles’ old t-shirt seven months after their breakup.

There’s no doubt that Jacqueline Bisset is a screen icon, but do we really need yet another meta commentary on the pitfalls of Hollywood with a lauded star as its only anchor? Bisset stars in “Loren and Rose,” written and directed by Russell Brown, and hitting select theaters after an extended tour of regional American film festivals. The drama follows aging starlet Rose (Bisset) who is looking to revive her career and takes multiple meetings with up-and-coming filmmaker Loren (Kelly Blatz) as he is casting his big break feature.
Within a few minutes of extreme exposition, Loren narrates that Rose’s most iconic role was playing a white nun who falls in love with a Black priest. Yet, Rose is best known to the public for playing the lead in pulpy sci-fi franchise “Mega Gators Mom.” Rose’s celebrity status, no matter which film of hers you love best,...

For years, fans have been wondering if Miles Morales would make his way into live-action. But if producer Amy Pascal is to be believed, that wait may soon be over.
While speaking with Variety during the red carpet premiere of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" in Los Angeles last night, Pascal -- who has produced all of the Tom Holland "Spider-Man" films, the two "Venom" movies, and the two "Spider-Verse" films -- said there are even more Spider-projects on the way.
When Variety's interviewer apparently asked if a live-action Miles Morales movie is in the works, she confirmed it is, saying, "You'll see all of it. It's all happening."
That's great news -- if it's actually true. It would certainly make financial sense for Sony to double down on its Spider-properties and mine that IP for as much as it possibly can, especially given how popular Miles has become in the wake of these animated films.

Terra Potts has decided to exit her role as executive vp of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures after a 13-year stint at the studio.
Potts, who is one of the few African American women to ascend to a senior executive-level position at a major Hollywood studio, led global campaigns for films including Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-nominated Elvis, Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling and, more recently, Evil Dead Rise. She also was in charge of DC Studio’s highly anticipated 2023 summer tentpole The Flash.
Pott was promoted to executive vp after serving as serving as senior vp of multicultural marketing and publicity. In the key role, she helped target a more diverse and broader audience. Films she worked on in that capacity included Creed, Jackie Robinson biopic 42, Judas and the Black Messiah and The Curse of La Llorona and box office sensation Crazy Rich Asians.

Noah Hawley’s FX series Alien has found one of its leads in Sydney Chandler, the network has confirmed.
Back at January’s TCA, FX boss John Landgraf said that the Fargo creator was in pre-production on Alien with an eye on starting production this year. The series reportedly takes place before the days of Sigourney Weaver’s alien fighter Ripley. It’s the first story that takes place in the Alien franchise on Earth, 70 years from current day.
Alien brings Chandler back to work at FX, the actress having made her television debut in the network’s series Pistol from director and executive producer Danny Boyle. That six-episode series, which premieres May 31 exclusively on Hulu, centers around the legendary Sex Pistols. Chandler portrays singer-songwriter Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders.

Though she has an extensive TV CV, Olivia Wilde has so far restricted her directing work to films. That's set to change, as she has boarded a potential adaptation of Jennifer Egan's award-winning book A Visit From The Goon Squad.
The tome, which tends to defy easy definition, comprises a set of thirteen interrelated stories with a large set of characters all connected to Bennie Salazar, a record company executive, and his assistant, Sasha. The book centers on the mostly self-destructive characters of different ages who, as they grow older, are sent in unforeseen, and sometimes unusual, directions by life. The stories shift back and forth in time from the 1970s to the present and into the near future. And as for the "Goon Squad" of the title – that refers to time robbing characters of their youth.

A24 has optioned Jennifer Egan’s novel “A Visit from the Goon Squad” and its sequel “The Candy House” for a TV series, with Olivia Wilde attached to direct, a rep for the actress told TheWrap on Friday. The “Don’t Worry Darling” helmer will also executive produce with Jennifer Fox.

CinemaCon has reportedly ramped up its security protocols after Olivia Wilde was served child custody papers on stage during last year’s event.
The 39-year-old actor-director was presenting her Harry Styles-led thriller Don’t Worry Darling when a court process server handed her a brown envelope.
Wilde later called the incident a “sabotage” attempt by her ex-fiancé, Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis.
A source told Variety at the time that Sudeikis “had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered”.
Variety now cites CinemaCon sources as confirming that “extra layers of security” have been put in place to prevent similar debacles.
These new measures reportedly include security guards around the stage and the studios presenting will now get to decide who sits in the front row.
