General Hospital (Gh) spoilers report Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) are officially a couple — and in love.
Spontaneously, love was in the air at Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) wedding to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Maxie couldn’t contain her true feelings anymore.
That being said, the fans are chattering that there might be more drama ahead before these two can really share any kind of happily ever after.
Did it all come too easy? We did wait more than a year for Spinelli to declare his love for the Maxonista, but will her worst fears of breaking his heart again come true? Or will they ride off into the sunset — finally?
One has to wonder whether the next big day Maxie will plan will be her own wedding day to Spinelli. Can they make it down the aisle this time while keeping their sanity and family intact?...

Michael Cohen is back in court Tuesday for a second day of testimony in Donald Trump’s criminal trial, detailing to the jury how he repeatedly lied about his role in orchestrating hush money payments to “protect” the former president.
In 2018, when the public learned that Cohen had arranged a $130,000 payment in 2016 to porn star Stormy Daniels in order to buy her silence about an alleged affair with the former president, the lawyer denied that Trump’s campaign or company had anything to do with the arrangement.

Climate change is getting worse day after day, and every uncomfortable conversation we’ve been putting off for decides is waiting for us just over the horizon. Caitlin Cronenberg’s debut feature Humane dives headfirst into that messy, chaotic crisis we’ve built for ourselves, in a chamber piece that has one affluent family forced to make the ultimate decision. It’s a classic thriller set-up with a premise ripped from the headlines of tomorrow’s newspaper, and a great cast of character actors ready to rip each other apart as soon as shit hits the fan.
The world of Humane is not unlike our own. With dwindling resources and increasingly inhabitable conditions, it’s like looking 5 minutes into the future. A future where fresh vegetable and meats are prohibited, and standing for any length of time in direct sunlight with no protection is practically a death sentence. But in...

Caitlin Cronenberg’s feature-length directorial debut, Humane, presents a world where environmental collapse is no longer theoretical. While the full extent of that collapse is never fully detailed, it’s bad enough where people can no longer expose their bare skin to the sun anymore. Naturally, instead of, say, regulating the environmental impact of big businesses, working with scientists, or increasing efforts toward sustainability, the governments of the world collectively decide on going full Thanos: 20% of the world’s population must be culled, and people are being encouraged to volunteer for euthanasia. Those who volunteer are given a $250,000 reward to distribute to their next of kin, and as you can imagine, lower classes and marginalized folks aren’t taking the idea of state-sponsored murder for cash very well.

Retired Judge Barbara Jones, who was appointed last November as the independent financial monitor of the Trump Organization, has been given sweeping new powers to run the troubled company, much to its lawyers’ chagrin.
After Judge Arthur Engoron‘s ruling last month, Jones, a former mob prosecutor, is effectively running the company after Trump and his sons Eric and Don Jr. were barred from running companies in New York for a fixed period.
The judge ordered Trump and his company to pay $355 million in restitution for decades of business fraud.
The company is now appealing the bans and fines.
Jones was assigned to serve as the Trump Organization’s independent monitor by Judge Engoron at the recommendation made by New York Attorney General Letitia James in September 2023.
Trump’s lawyers have quickly turned on Jones as she has amassed ever-greater power over the company.

With "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," director Jason Reitman sparked a new direction for the sci-fi comedy franchise pioneered by his father, filmmaker Ivan Reitman. Much like the younger Reitman taking the reins of his father's cinematic history, the film grappled with the legacy of the movies that came before by delivering an Amblin-esque family adventure soaked in the nostalgia of the original "Ghostbusters." The result landed somewhere in the middle of being wonderfully entertaining and borderline self-indulgent, and that's coming from someone who has nothing but respect for the groundbreaking 1984 hit that came before it.
Two years later, the spook-nabbing franchise is continuing with "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire," this time directed by "Monster House" filmmaker Gil Kenan. Leaving behind the dusty, rural Oklahoma setting of "Afterlife," the sequel brings the action back to New York City, where the unconventional Spengler family have been handed the baton, or rather neutron wand, of the original Ghostbusters.

General Hospital viewers have been missing John J. York, who plays Malcolm “Mac” Scorpio on the long-running soap, but there is a sign he could soon be returning to Port Charles. York hasn’t been seen on the show since last November, as he’s been undergoing cancer treatment. The actor announced last September that he’d be taking a “brief hiatus” from General Hospital, later revealing he’d been battling Myelodysplastic Syndrome (Mds) and multiple smoldering myeloma since December 2022. After beginning blood stem cell transplant treatment in November, York has been on the mend and is now set to make his first public appearance alongside his on-screen wife, Kristina Wagner (Felicia). The pair will host a special Zoom fan event on Sunday, July 14, where viewers will get to hang out with the beloved soap duo. “So much to talk about,” York said on X (formerly Twitter) while promoting the upcoming event.

The dystopian sci-fi film "Logan's Run" is set in a supposedly idyllic future society where residents above 30 mysteriously disappear. The hedonistic metropolis is enclosed by a dome, and those who choose to explore the world outside — and the secrets that it holds — are labeled "runners." Michael York stars in the film as the titular protagonist, an undercover police officer who infiltrates the runners only to find that he, too, opposes the laws that he once worked to uphold and helps them lead an uprising.
"Logan's Run" was nominated for its cinematography and set decoration in the 1977 Academy Awards. It even received a special achievement award for its visual effects. The futuristic set and costume design were almost identical to the smash-hit sci-fi adventure film "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope," which was released the following year. It's possible that "Star Wars" even drew inspiration from the 1976 film. However,...

Abel Ferrara has made a career out of staring unflinchingly into the abyss, interrogating man’s weakness and depravity and daring his audiences to look away. Faced with the catastrophic violence of the war in Ukraine, however, which he chronicles in the Berlin-premiering documentary “Turn in the Wound,” even the iconoclastic director finds himself at a loss — for words, and for easy answers.
“Why is the violence — that’s what it’s about,” Ferrara tells Variety. “Whether it’s there, whether it’s happening in Gaza and Israel — it’s happening all over the world. It has happened, it is happening, and it’s going to happen, and the question is, Why?”
Ferrara returns to Berlin four years after competing for the Golden Bear with “Siberia,” which starred Willem Dafoe in what Variety’s Guy Lodge described as a “beautiful, unhinged, sometimes hilarious trek into geographical and psychological wilderness.” The...

Were Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to give marriage another shot, they’d reportedly have King Charles III’s “blessing.” Ahead, what the Duke and Duchess of York’s second nuptials could look like. Plus, how their Christmas 2023 appearance “shifted the dial.” And why one royal biographer says Andrew and Ferguson’s “current arrangement” is likely to continue.
The king would give Andrew and Sarah his ‘blessing’ to get married again
It could be wedding bells for Andrew and Ferguson, the royal exes who have remained close decades after their 10-year marriage. Buckingham Palace hasn’t announced the union, but the Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle heard rumblings.
”A source whispers that Charles has indicated to Andrew and Fergie that he would give his blessing,” Hardcastle wrote. Meanwhile, Andrew, 63, doesn’t need to ask permission to marry because he’s not among the top six people in line to the throne.

First released in 1974, Kingmaker is a classic medium-heavy wargame that deals with the politics and conflict of the English War of the Roses – during which the forces of York and Lancaster competed for almost fifty years to determine who would hold the crown. This conflict ultimately led to the replacement of the Plantagenet line with that of the Tudor’s and only ended through a convenient marriage that essentially consumed the claims of both York and Lancaster into a single claimant – Henry VII.
In the new 2023 Kingmaker which has been extensively redeveloped by Alan Paull, there are four ways to play and several variants. There’s Classic Kingmaker – a potentially four-hour-long experience that takes the premise of the original game, streamlines it in almost every way and then demands that players compete until only one claimant to the throne (out of a starting fourteen) remains. Tensions continued to mount upon the doctors at York Memorial Hospital.
The Emerg nurses' work-to-rule action to protest the changes implemented by Dr. Devi didn't help matters on Transplant Season 3 Episode 7.
But their slowdown only brought to light problems that existed long before that.
The Oxford Dictionary defines the British concept of work to rule as "to follow official working rules and hours exactly to reduce output and efficiency, especially as a form of industrial action."
Neeta Devi means well. She's attempting to make the emergency department more comfortable for patients.
Also, Dr. Olsen, the medical director, and the board have given her the power to make changes to implement her policies.
But too many of those changes have fallen on the backs of the nursing staff, who make any hospital run as smoothly as it does by doing the little things off the books.

General Hospital actor John J. York has provided an update after revealing a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple smoldering myeloma.
He is looking to combat his condition with a bone marrow donor.

York found a donor through BeTheMatch, where individuals have a 29-79% chance of finding a donor outside of their family. York and his donor went through many tests in order to make sure his body would adapt.
York is well aware of the risks involved in the transplant.

In a lawsuit filed just before the deadline for the Adult Survivors Act, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1993.
The accuser, whose identity is protected due to the sensitive nature of the allegation, filed the lawsuit late Wednesday, and named Adams, the NYPD’s transit bureau and the Guardian Association as defendants. At the time of the alleged incident, Adams was an NYPD officer, and the filing states that the woman also worked for the city.
The three-page summons claims that the plaintiff was sexually assaulted by Adams in New York City in 1993 while both worked for the City of New York. However, it does not provide further details about the alleged assault.
The lawsuit alleges sexual assault, battery, employment discrimination based on gender and sex, retaliation, hostile work environment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The plaintiff seeks damages of at least $5 million,...

Judge Arthur Engoron, the New York judge overseeing Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial, has received hundreds of threatening messages that the court has deemed “serious and credible” since the former president began criticizing the court staff on social media.
Trump first started posting about Engoron and his law clerk on his platform, Truth Social, on October 3. Since then, threats against the judge have “increased exponentially” and are no longer considered “hypothetical or speculative,” according to court officer-captain Charles Hollon.
Trump’s comments have forced Engoron to impose a gag order prohibiting Trump from making statements about court staff in public.
Engoron has fined Trump twice for violating the gag order, with the former president now owing the court $15,000.
A New York appeals court temporarily lifted the gag order last week after Trump argued that it was a violation of his constitutional rights.

In its own way, Sol Saks' 1963 sitcom "Bewitched" was a subversive work. Inspired by movies like "I Married a Witch" (1942) and "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" (1957), "Bewitched" followed the everyday, quotidian, brightly-lit travails of a typical white suburban couple named Darrin Stephens and Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery).
The twist was that Samantha was a centuries-old witch, descended from a long line of magic-users. Endora (Agnes Moorehead), Samantha's colorful mother, would occasionally drop in, as would her father Maurice (Maurice Evans from "Planet of the Apes"), and uncle Arthur (legendary comedian Paul Lynde). The witches and warlocks on the show would often attempt to drive a wedge between Samantha and Darrin, but their love would prevail in the end.
Beginning in the show's third season, the Stephens had their first child, Tabitha (Erin Murphy and Diane Murphy). In the sixth season, they were joined by baby Adam (David Lawrence and Greg Lawrence).

General Hospital actor John J. York has been opening up about his cancer diagnosis, revealing that he’s ready to take it on with a positive attitude. The soap star, who has played Malcolm “Mac” Scorpio on the long-running ABC daytime drama for 22 years, announced last week that he has been undergoing treatment for two blood and bone marrow disorders — myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple smoldering myeloma. In a new interview with People, York revealed that he’s battled ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease since he was 17, so he’s prepared to face his cancer diagnoses head-on. “It’s just another thing that I gotta now take care of,” he said. “I went through life with colonoscopies, medicines, the whole thing, and always had to be under doctor’s care,” he shared, adding, “and living life. Everything’s good.” It was through these regular check-ups that doctors discovered York’s cancer.

When comparing Greta Gerwig's film "Barbie" to ancient writings, one might find that it bears the strongest resemblance to the Book of Genesis. Barbie and Ken are Adam and Eve, Barbieland is the Garden of Eden, and the Patriarchy is the Forbidden Fruit. Ken also serves as the Serpent in this metaphor. Unlike in Genesis, however, Eden remains the blissful paradise it always was at the end, and it's Barbie who leaves to grow up.
Gerwig has been open about the unexpected spiritual influences on "Barbie," having written an Apostle's Creed for her lead character. She also once noted that Barbie was created first, in 1959, with Ken hitting the market in 1960. Barbie was alone in the Garden before God created Ken out of her rib. Gerwig also held what she called "movie church" every Sunday while filming "Barbie," inviting her cast to worship at the alter of cinema at...

This The Walking Dead: Dead City review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 1
Picking up where a show left off should be old hat for the creative team behind The Walking Dead: Dead City. After all, The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead did that kind of thing all the time. Every few seasons, when there was a narrative need, they jumped forward in time, scrambled locations and places, and generally reset things as befitted the story they want to tell. As such, the new lives for Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) don’t feel jarring. We’ve already been through at least one or two Maggie reboots at this point; what’s another one?
The story is your basic action movie set-up. Someone’s got her child, in this case a teenage Hershel (Logan Kim), and she’s got to get him back...

Amazon’s explosive docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, has Duggar family followers talking. It has also introduced the masses to the Institute of Basic Life Principles, branded as a Christian ministry but called a cult in the docuseries. The Iblp, as its known, has had several major scandals, most revolving around its former leader. Bill Gothard previously ran the Iblp but stepped down in 2014 amid sexual misconduct allegations. While Gothard spent decades controlling the ministry, he was never really the face of it, at least not to the public. That role went to the Duggars. So, with Bill Gothard now out of power in the Iblp, we can’t help but wonder who is running the show. Officially, the Iblp is now being led by a board of directors. According to Bobye Holt, a former family friend, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are pulling the strings behind the scenes.

The subject of exactly how many homes the British monarch owns has often been the cause of a raised eyebrow – as, over many years, there has invariably been a spare house or country pile lying around and available for any family member deemed in need.
However, that looks set to change with the arrival of King Charles on the throne. National press reported last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been asked to vacate their British home near Windsor Castle, and now the Times of London reports other family members will receive the same news.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were informed in January they would no longer have access to Frogmore Cottage, their post-marital home in the UK, although it has been intimated they will be permitted to stay there, should they decide to travel to the UK for Harry’s father’s Coronation in May.

Paramore have mastered the art of maturing gracefully. Beginning with the band’s self-titled 2013 album, they have slowly peeled themselves away from the mainstream emo/pop-punk world they once dominated (all while dealing with constant lineup shake-ups). In the process, Paramore have found themselves attached to a different kind of musical nostalgia, zeroing in on the slick sounds of Eighties rock and New Wave without so much as a hint of corny pastiche. As omnivorous fans and champions of younger artists, they always remain steeped in pop’s ever-evolving present.
