Exclusive: Sony Pictures International Productions is ramping up two sequels to 2023 German box office hit The Three Investigators – Legacy of the Dragon (Die Drei ??? – Erbe des Drachen). Both adventure mysteries are co-productions from Wiedemann & Berg Film and Deutsche Columbia Pictures Filmproduktion in cooperation with Kosmos Verlag.
The sequels, The Three Investigators – Carpathian Dog and The Three Investigators – Isle of Death, will be shot back-to-back in the Canary Islands, with principal photography beginning in February. They are scheduled to reach cinemas on January 23, 2025 and January 22, 2026, respectively. Tim Dünschede, who helmed the first picture, will direct both films.

The first German production from the world’s leading Internet TV Network is set in a German town in present day where the disappearance of two young children exposes the double lives and fractured relationships among four families. In ten, hour-long episodes, the story takes on a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986.
Dark is directed by Baran bo Odar, whose latest critically-acclaimed film Who Am I - No Systerm Is Safe, starring Tom Schilling and Elyas M’Barek, was a German box office sensation. Who Am I premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2014, won three German Movie Awards and the Bambi for “Best German Film.” Odar’s next film will be Sleepless Night with Oscar®-Winner Jamie Foxx.
