- Munshiram Varma was born in 1902 as Munshiram Chawla in the Punjab Region of British India. He was one of the founders of Varma Films, best known for Sohag Raat (1948), Patanga (1949) and Badal (1951). Children include two sons (Daboo & Pammi) and five daughters (Santosh, Bimla, Veena, Madhu & Rekha). Munshiram died in 1958 in Bombay, India.
