The Berlin prize-winner from Lila Aviles has secured a number of international sales.
Mexico has selected Berlin festival prize-winner Totem, written and directed by Lila Avilés, as its submission for this year’s international feature Oscar.
The family drama premiered in competition at this year’s Berlinale and won the Ecumenical Jury Prize. It also screened at the recent Telluride festival and at this week’s San Sebastian festival and is part of the line-up for next week’s BFI London festival.

There was sad news to share about Evil Dead: The Game, as there won’t be any more content developed for that game… but moving over to a video game inspired by a different long-running horror franchise, there is some very cool news to share about the Puppet Master video game, which is free to play on Steam! An update to that game has brought in five new characters and two new game modes.
Most of the new characters are inspired by Puppet Master 4 and Puppet Master 5. The evil Sutekh is back, the big bad from Puppet Master 4 and 5 has made his way into Puppet Master: The Game. Beware, he is not alone, he has brough his own terrifying troop of little minions that want to play with you! Will you and the Puppets be enough to fight back the demonic forces from the underworld!?

Lila Aviles’ Totem and Felipe Galvez’s The Settlers are among the films selected for the Horizontes Latinos strand of the 71st San Sebastian International Film Festival.
The 12 Latin American titles are competing for the Horizontes Award of €35,000 which is split between the director and the Spanish distributor.
Totem first premiered at Berlinale earlier this year, picking up the Ecumenical jury prize before collecting further awards at Hong Kong and Jerusalem. The Mexican drama is told from the perspective of a seven-year-old girl as her family descends into crisis around her.
