Corey Deshon’s debut cult thriller screens in the market today [Monday 23] at 9.30am and centres on a young woman inducted into a bizarre family as their new surrogate daughter.
As Daughter navigates through this twisted family dynamic coping with the loss of her own freedom, dark secrets about the past are revealed, leading to even darker implications about the future.
Starring alongside Dien are Elyse Dinh, Ian Alexander and Vivien Ngô.

Exclusive: Yellow Veil Pictures has acquired world sales rights to Corey Deshon’s debut feature Daughter and will introduce the project to buyers in Cannes later this month. Casper Van Dien, Elyse Dinh, Ian Alexander and Vivien Ngô star in the pic about a young woman inducted into a bizarre family as their new surrogate daughter.
Daughter is the first feature from writer/director Deshon, writer and consulting producer on the third season of ABC’s A Million Little Things and writer on the upcoming Netflix political thriller series The Night Agent.
Van Dien (Starship Troopers) plays Father, Dinh (HBO’s Watchmen) is Mother. Alexander plays Brother and Ngô (Queen Sugar) marks her first feature lead turn as the titular Daughter.

Exclusive: Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up North American rights to James Kermack’s action thriller feature film Knuckledust, and is eyeing a release for later this year.
The movie stars Moe Dunford (Vikings), Kate Dickie (The Witch), Phil Davis (Face), Alex Ferns (Chernobyl), Olivier Richters (Black Widow), Jaime Winstone (Tomb Raider), Gethin Anthony (Game of Thrones) and Sebastien Foucan (Casino Royale).
In Knuckledust, police discover an elite fight club where they find seven underground levels, filled with the dead bodies of fighters from around the world. Only one man is found left alive. The task force has to work out if he’s a mass murderer or the lone survivor.
The deal was negotiated by Miles Fineburg on behalf of Samuel Goldwyn Films and Gregory Chambet of WTFilms on behalf of the filmmakers.
