Anthony Esteban is a French born director, writer, producer and cinematographer. He was born in Lyon, France, in 1979, but grew up in Nantes, France, from age 7. As a teenager, he became fascinated by Hollywood cinema, in particular adventure and science-fiction films such as E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the original Star Wars trilogy. In 2000, he enrolled with the CinéCréatis film school in Nantes where he studied cinematography and digital visual effects. He was the visual effects supervisor on the end of studies short film Sleepcatchers, and went on to produce the short thriller Les Innocents (The Innocents) for his production company Western Films.
After a hiatus of about fifteen years during which he traveled the world and obtained a Bachelor's Degree and a PhD, Esteban settled in the Netherlands and returned to film making in 2020 with the short documentary film Wild Card. Since then, Esteban has been prolific, with several short documentaries and portraits of artists.
A life-long car enthusiast, Esteban also combined his passion for cars and for film making by creating the YouTube channel Every Car a Story. Every episode of the show, hosted by Esteban himself, is the portrait of a classic car, presented with exquisite cinematography, catchy music, and attempted humor.
In recent years, Esteban has made a push to get more and more involved with the music scene by directing music videos for various bands, including Sodom Billy's and Black Fuse.
As of 2024, Esteban is working on the 3rd season of Behind The Wheel, a documentary on the war in Ukraine (Dreams and Nights of War), and a short film inspired by cosmic horror writer H.P. Lovecraft: Dreaming No More.
