Meredith is a struggling mother abandoned by her family and partner after the appalling death of their newborn son. Alone in her house after separating, she becomes more and more isolated, unaware that the death of her baby has caused the birth of something far more sinister. An entity conceived from tragedy that is determined to make her relive over and over again the darkest moments of her existence and keep her family forever torn apart.
Mom is another heavy-handed look at post-partum depression wrapped up in the skin of a genre film – in this case a haunted house film. It’s something we’ve seen plenty of times before, and the filmmakers here don’t really try and stray away from cliche.

Watching Christmas horror movies is a proud tradition for spooky fiends looking to escape their post-Halloween blues and the agonizing two months of forced consumerism and awful music blasting in every department store. The films in this very specific category are known for subverting the cheer and innocence associated with the holiday, and often focus on characters experiencing isolation because their family situation is far from those depicted in generic Hallmark Christmas movies. Every year, we are treated to new ideas on how to make Christmas creepy, and this year fans should be snuggling up on the couch to view is The Sacrifice Game.

Producer and distributor, Media Ranch has begun representation of two Korean formats from Diturn, the company of “The Masked Singer” creator Park Wonwoo.
“Round Table” is a proven singing game-show format created by Park that was a hit in Korea on Kbs 2. It involves celebrities without singing ability needing to sing to win the contest.
“Love Maze,” in which a maze stands between two potential lovers, is a new format co-created by Park and Something Special CEO Hwang Jin Woo, who introduced the parties.
This contract is the first deal between Media Ranch and Diturn. It has the goal of building a collection of intellectual property from leading format creator Park, who also created another global hit show “Lotto Singer.”
The representation deal is also the continuation of a productive relationship between Media Ranch and Something Special. They have already seen four other formats go to market over the last two years.

A hard-partying pack of teens come across a mysterious vintage game and can’t resist giving it a try. They each place a thumb on it and suddenly, they all get pricked, their blood running and pooling into the game. A clock lights up, counting down. At the end of the countdown, one of the teens dies – in a rather spectacular way. The countdown begins again. The game instructs the teens to kill or be killed. Whatever the case, someone will die by the time each countdown ends, and it can either be one of them, or… well, anyone else. This is not great news for anyone who lives remotely nearby as the teens have no...

With little over a month to go until Austin plays host to SXSW 2017 for another year, organizers of the annual showcase have announced that James Franco’s drama The Disaster Artist has been added to the stacked lineup.
Based on Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell’s non-fiction book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, Franco’s passion project is set to recount the infamous story behind The Room, Tommy Wiseau’s widely-derided pic that has since gone on to become something of a cult classic. No release date has been set, but we know that the feature will be written and directed by Franco, who stars as the eccentric Wiseau, and features a cast comprised of Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Josh Hutcherson, Ari Graynor, Jacki Weaver, and former Community star Alison Brie. Bryan Cranston and Zach Braff are among those set to cameo.
