God of War is one of the strongest PlayStation first-party franchises and the creator has some advice on how Sony could have ended the recent State of Play on a higher note. David Jaffe is renowned for his sarcasm but one of his ideas genuinely made sense.
The PS5 has entered the latter stage of the console life cycle and it is no hidden secret that the gaming company is working on a new device that is rumored to be more powerful than the base model. It would make sense for Sony to lower the price of the original version.

God of War Ragnarok was a sequel to the hit 2018 reboot. The game was launched for the PS4 and the PS5 in 2022. During Sony’s 2024 State of Play Showcase, the game has also been confirmed to launch on PC.
The showcase began with the announcement and a reveal of Concord, an upcoming live-service first-person hero shooter; neither title stood out in the showcase lineup. The clear winner in the lineup was Ballad of Antara, which certainly seems promising.
God of War Ragnarok’s PC Port Overshadowed by Ballad of Antara The game is being developed by Tipsworks Studio and will be published by Infold Games.
One of the announcements made during the State of Play 2024 broadcast was that Ragnarok was coming to PC in September. The showcase was mostly underwhelming for fans as they there weren’t any announcements made by Sony, probably because the PS5 is in the later stage of its lifecycle.

Hellblade 2 was finally released a few days ago, after many years of waiting. While the game was rated 8.0 through critic reviews on Metacritic, the gaming community’s reception has been very mixed, for the most part.
One of the biggest issues seems to be the price of the game. After a user of r/IndianGaming brought up how different the prices are in Inr vs. Usd, people are infuriated at the audacity of the pricing, especially when accounting for the game’s length.

After almost five years since its announcement, Hellblade 2 is finally available, and the reviews are starting to appear, with a very good reception from the critics. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that this game is good.
The creator of the original God of War, David Jaffe is one of those less than impressed, and after taking to social media to air his disdain, he seems to have both support and criticism for those with some skin in the game.
The Director of the Original God of War, David Jaffe, Is Not So Happy With Hellblade 2 God of War creator, David Jaffe said that Hellblade 2 is pretentious.

It’s a known fact that Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to the record-breaking reboot, God of War is one of the most praised games that has hit the shelves in the last couple of years. The title brings engaging gameplay, a compelling narrative, and memorable characters. The game earned so much appreciation that it was a contender for the 2022 Game of the Year award.
In the last couple of years, we’ve seen Sony making a habit of porting its biggest exclusive titles to PC. So naturally, it was assumed that God of War Ragnarok would eventually make it’s way there as well. Fortunately, it looks like we won’t have to wait long for a PC port. Dealabs’ billbin-kun, one of the most reputable insiders in the community, has revealed that the PC port of Santa Monica Studio’s critically acclaimed action-adventure title is on its way.

If there was a list of the most violent games ever, Mortal Kombat and the Grand Theft Auto franchise would surely be on it. Which other games would make it to the list? When it comes to violence in video games, we have a long list.
So, it is unsurprising that one of the first things people look for in games is combat mechanics. How smooth is it? How responsive are the combat controls? These are the questions that keep getting asked in community forums. But what of the amount of violence? Can violence even be quantified?

God of War is one of the oldest and most successful PlayStation first-party franchises. Gamers everywhere are pretty much aware of how legendary this franchise is, even if they haven’t played one of these games. This franchise spans eight mainline installments that were released on major consoles and one very small game that was launched on mobile devices.
Besides releasing on various console generations, these games have gone through a number of directors. The franchise started with its creator, David Jaffe, then was taken over by Stig Asmussen, who worked on Gow 3. Finally, the franchise went to Cory Barlog, who gave it a soft reboot with God of War 2018. But David Jaffe is not very happy with the latest game, God of War: Ragnarok.

The first God Of War game which came out in 2005, was unique from other action-adventure games of its time. It was the brainchild of David Jaffe, who focused on making the game stand out with its combat, story, and visuals. Since then, the game that came on the PS2 has been a fan favorite.

While the game saw eight other installments being made, David Jaffe is only credited for making the first two games. Jaffe stepped down from the franchise and parted ways with Sony to move on and work on other projects. Even though he left the franchise, he has always been interested in the games.

Twisted Metal is a video game franchise that began in 1995 on the original PlayStation. David Jaffe, brought gamers a zany world that involved vehicular combat and cool character design. Winning a simple demolition derby served as the game’s main premise and goal. Between now and then, multiple sequels were released, with the last one being in 2012, although the franchise then lay dormant for around ten years.
Then in 2021, it was officially announced that Anthony Mackie would lead a Twisted Metal TV series that would feature iconic characters and imagery from the game, but would tell a unique, original story. The show premiered in the US in July of 2023, but it is being aired in the UK for this first time on Paramount+ later this month, on March 21 2024.

A new Twisted Metal game would be great, in fact, it was already in development. But, to the dismay of fans, now it’s not, courtesy of Sony. Over 30K employees have already lost their jobs to layoffs and now 900 more will be added to the list after PlayStation maker decided to let go of 8 percent workforce from the company.
Twisted Metal is among the best games Sony has published over the years. Several games from the series have been re-released as the company’s Greatest Hits program. The game follows a car combat theme, more like a demolition derby, where players can hit the opposing drivers with a variety of weapons available at their disposal.

“I feel like we’re in a time where all of us are trying to not forget our childhood… Twisted Metal is one of those forgotten gems that really brings you back to your youth.”
Hood-mounted Gatling guns, blood-splattered windshields, and a psychotic clown driving a deadly ice cream truck may seem like strange memories to file under the “childhood nostalgia” column. But for ‘90s kids who loved Twisted Metal, like Anthony Mackie, the vehicular mayhem of the long-running PlayStation classic conjures warm and fuzzies in the most delightfully demented way.
When Mackie signed on to produce and star in Peacock’s TV adaptation of the game, he knew it would be a chance to pay homage to an era that meant a lot to him. “I was formed and defined by the ‘90s,...

A few decades ago, video games were cheap enough to produce that developers could afford to take some creative risks when coming up with new titles. This miraculous sweet spot between accessible technology and an expanding audience resulted in highly successful games with a lot more personality than what you typically see in the industry these days. Mostly unconstrained by corporate interests and soulless market research, this era before the rise of live-service titles and abusive Dlc boasted some of the greatest gaming experiences of all time – and one of my personal favorites came in the form of Sony’s Twisted Metal Franchise.
With Twisted Metal finally being revived in the form of Peacock’s recently announced TV series (which features Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth!), we thought that this would be the perfect time to look back on the iconic vehicular combat series with a definitive ranking of every main entry in the franchise.

Rafe Judkins (“Wheel of Time”) has been set as showrunner for the co-production between Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in association with PlayStation Productions.
Variety provides the following synopsis: “Based on the massively popular 2018 video game, the show follows Kratos, the God of War, who, after exiling himself from his blood-soaked past in ancient Greece, hangs up his weapons forever in the Norse realm of Midgard.

God of War creator and controversial YouTube figure David Jaffe recently went on a tirade in which he laid much of the blame for Starfield‘s recent delay at the feet of Microsoft Gaming CEO and Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer.
Before we dive into those comments, it’s important to understand some additional context about this story. First off, in case you haven’t heard, Bethesda recently confirmed that they have decided to delay Starfield and Redfall from 2022 to the first half of 2023. While Redfall did not previously have a specific released date beyond a vague September 2022 window, Starfield previously had a highly publicized 11-11-22 release date. The announcement didn’t really come as a shock to many who were familiar with Starfield‘s development hurdles, but it did draw quite a few reactions from fans and industry figures.

In an interview posted on David Jaffe’s YouTube channel, Days Gone writer/co-director John Garvin (who has since left developer Bend Studios over what was implied to be personality differences) suggested that part of the reason why the game will reportedly not be getting a sequel is that not enough people bought it at full price.
“I do have an opinion on something that your audience may find of interest, and it might piss some of them off,” said Garvin. “If you love a game, buy it at f-cking full price. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen gamers say ‘yeah, I got that on sale, I got it through Ps Plus, whatever.”

Despite being scheduled to launch this year, Sony has remained remarkably quiet about God of War: Ragnarök.
The sequel – which will presumably see Kratos and Atreus go to war against the Norse gods following the death of Odin’s son Baldur – was first revealed last year during a special digital-only summer showcase and fans have heard next to nothing about the anticipated title ever since. Long periods of silence such as these often precede news of a delay (or worse), and while we don’t for a moment think that the next installment is in any danger of being cancelled, being pushed back several months is definitely possible. Developer Santa Monica has never given a specific release date beyond an incredibly vague 2021, though, so for all intents and purposes, a return to Midgard is still projected to go ahead as planned.

The God of War name was picked at random, as one of three potential titles thrown into a hat.
Here's an interesting glimpse behind the scenes into the not-always-glamorous world of video game development: as it turns out, the title for God of War was picked out of a hat at random because the developers couldn't agree on a name for the game.
The God of War series debuted during the PS2 era, with David Jaffe, who was working at Sony's Santa Monica Studio at the time, being credited as the franchise's creator. He directed the first and second games in the series, which were released in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Stig Asmussen then directed God of War III for PS3, before Cory Barlog came in to direct the 2018 God of War revival for PS4.

Originally announced back at PlayStation Experience 2014, David Jaffe’s Drawn To Death has finally been given a release date. The PlayStation 4 exclusive shooter will launch on April 4 in North America and Europe, and will carry a cost of only $19.99.
Diving headfirst into the often troubling world of teenage imagination, Drawn To Death is a super-stylized third-person shooter. The game pits up to four people against each other, which plays off the experience Jaffe gained while working on the classic Twisted Metal franchise. While it was originally pitched as a free-to-play title, extensive beta testing has determined that the game would work best as a full-priced product.
If you’re thinking to yourself “Oh boy! Another hero-based shooter!”, Jaffe hears you. In an interview over on the PlayStation Blog, The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency head explained why Drawn To Death is different from the likes of Paragon and Overwatch.
