Milorad Dodik's recorded racial slur about Novak Djokovic's family ignited backlash and prompted an apology.
A recent recording has surfaced featuring Milorad Dodik, President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (Rs) entity, making a racial slur while referring to Novak Djokovic and his family, as per N1. The incident took place before Dodik's guest appearance on Serbia's state TV (Rts).
The video, published by Rs MP Nebojca Vukanovic, shows Dodik in conversation with journalist Gradimir Papic, where he uses offensive language to describe the Djokovic family's business dealings.
It comes after the 2023 Srpska Open which was held in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Atp 250 tournament which was organized by Djokovic's family and also attended by Novak Djokovic himself, who lost in the quarterfinals to Dusan Lajovic.

Nick Kyrgios was supposed to play at the Srpska Open according to Novak Djokovic's brother Djordje who is the tournament director.
Both Novak and Djordje Djokovic are active in tennis. One brother is one of the best players in the history of the sport while the other handles the Serbia Open trying to make it one of the most respectable tennis events in the world. This year that event was held in Banja Luka as the Belgrade Tennis Centre underwent renovations ahead of an Atp 500 bid next year.
It was a pretty good event with a lot of good players showing up alongside Novak Djokovic who ultimately lost to eventual champion Dusan Lajovic. One player Djordje hoped to see was Nick Kyrgios who was apparently willing to play some clay tennis in Banja Luka.
The contract was never signed, but I am still in contact with his people to this day.
