In 2020, while the pandemic dominated headlines, entertainment news brought a bit of sunshine as the coveted star of such classic comedies as Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, and Little Shop of Horrors, Rick Moranis, was set to make his return to acting after taking an extended break from his career to spend time raising his children after his wife passed. One of the most beloved family movies that Moranis also iconically starred in is the 1989 Disney film Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, which was brought to life by Jumanji director Joe Johnston. Along with Moranis’ return came the return of that nostalgic property as Disney announced a legacy sequel titled Shrunk.
Shrunk was to star Rick Moranis and Josh Gad, along with Johnston returning to direct. Since its announcement, however, not much has been heard about the project. The movie would, unfortunately, get delayed a number of times due to several factors. According to Deadline,...

Josh Gad offered an update on the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot, Shrunk, in which he was set to co-star alongside original franchise star Rick Moranis.
“A lot of u ask me what’s going on with this film,” the Beauty and the Beast actor wrote on Twitter. “Truth is, we were inches from starting and then Covid hit, inches from starting again & then my schedule exploded with conflicts, inches from starting again & budget got the best of us.”
He suggested if people want to see the reboot come to life, they should reach out to Disney and let the company know they’re interested in it. Gad also shared an unofficial poster for the film.
Shrunk would have served as a continuation of the original franchise, which included 1989’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, 1992 sequel Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and 1997’s straight-to-dvd follow-up Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.

Inspired by real-life couple Jennifer Carter and Solomon “Sol” Chau, All My Life is the sanitized, sanded-down version of what probably would have been a very interesting documentary that wouldn’t require the sugary artificiality of a script that feels like it was written by a mall focus group recruited exclusively from customers of Williams Sonoma and Pink by Victoria’s Secret. In this narrative version, Carter (Jessica Rothe) and Chau (Harry Shum Jr.) are imagined as twenty-somethings living their lives in search of “something more” as Jennifer’s voiceover tells us upfront.
Jennifer is a student who never seems to have any professional interests; Sol works first in marketing but has a true passion for food. While out a sports bar with friends, Jennifer and Solomon bond over a margarita and decide to meet up for a run and a trip to the farmers market the next day, where they...

At first, “All My Life” looks like a typical romantic comedy: Girl and boy meet cute, banter playfully, flirt, go on a fun first date and fall in love during montages set to pop songs.
But if you know anything about the Marc Meyers movie starring Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr., you know going in that this is not a rom-com. It’s based on a true story, and all the promo materials spell out that this is a movie about a couple dealing with a serious illness. It’s a drama rather than a comedy, so call it a rom-dram – and if that phrase seems slightly dismissive, it’s appropriate for a movie that plays up the sentimentality and never escapes the feeling that it’s a light look at a heavy subject.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and “All My Life” is nothing if not...

In these highly cynical times, it might be hard to process the true-life tale of a young couple’s romance cut short by terminal illness. But the warmth and touching tenderness of “All My Life” melts even the coldest of hearts in its quest to deliver happy and sad tears. Unlike the phony, syrupy, and predictably manipulative devices of a Nicholas Sparks romance (which contains the base similarity that someone dies tragically), this three-hankie weepie holds a surprising amount of heart and hope to accompany all the cathartic crying.
Jenn Carter (Jessica Rothe) is just an average college student, getting her master’s degree in psychology and hanging out with friends Megan (Marielle Scott) and Amanda (Chrissie Fit). But a chance meeting in a sports bar brings about the greatest moment of her life: meeting Solomon “Sol” Chau (Harry Shum Jr.), a digital marketing analyst whose true career passion lies in cooking.

Victorian cinemagoers have propelled Christopher Nolan’s Tenet back to the top of the local box office, with exhibitors in the state further encouraged by loosening of capacity restrictions from today.
The Warner Bros. title, now 13 weeks in release Australia-wide, brought in $512,954 from 139 screens, advancing to $13.5 million.
IMAX Melbourne reopened last Thursday with back-to-back screenings of the thriller, with Nolan having recorded an exclusive message for the cinema.
It is one of just 13 sites in the world to screen it on IMAX 1570 film; the majority of Tenet was shot with IMAX 15 perforation 70mm (1570) film cameras.
“All upcoming sessions of Tenet are largely sold out and we will be releasing more tickets this week to accommodate demand,” IMAX Melbourne Gm Richard Morrison tells If.
Tenet‘s result meant Australia was once again the second highest performing market for the film last weekend after the US. Globally, the title has now reached $US356 million.

New Delhi, Nov 11 (Ians) Actor Josh Gad has no qualms in admitting he is very vulnerable, and says he is in touch with his insecurities.
"I hate to admit this, but I think I'm very vulnerable," Gad told Ians.
"I'm definitely somebody who is in touch with (his) insecurities and I have the financial bills from my therapists to prove it. I think there is an earnestness that clearly resonates with my characters because there's a part of me that is in touch with my emotions. I'm in touch with those things that make me vulnerable," he added.
On the work front, Gad will be seen in the upcoming sequel of the 1989 blockbuster "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids". Joe Johnston is returning to make the sequel titled "Shrunk" with Todd Rosenberg writing the script.

While most studios are delaying movies into next year, Universal has added a new film — romantic drama “All My Life” — to the release calendar and plans to open it in U.S. theaters on Dec. 4.
The movie, starring Harry Shum Jr., will be available on premium digital rental services a few weeks later on Dec. 23.
Universal’s decision to debut “All My Life” in theaters during the pandemic comes after the studio forged a pact with AMC, the world’s largest movie theater chain. Under the agreement, Universal can put new movies on premium video-on-demand within three weeks of their theatrical premieres. In return, AMC gets a cut of the digital profits and promises not to boycott Universal movies in retaliation.

Rick Moranis is leaving his decades-long hiatus from live-action acting to join Disney’s sequel to its 1989 blockbuster “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” Variety has confirmed.
Moranis will reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski, the crackpot scientist who accidentally shrunk his children (and the neighbor’s kids), then accidentally made his infant child enormous in 1992’s “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid,” and then accidentally shrunk himself and his wife in the 1997 straight-to-video sequel “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves!” — which was also the last time Moranis acted in a live-action feature.
In the new film, which has the aptly condensed title “Shrunk,” Josh Gad will play Szalinski’s son (played by young actor Robert Oliveri in the 1989 and 1992 films), who, yes, accidentally shrinks his family. Original director Joe Johnston is returning to make the sequel, with Todd Rosenberg writing the script.

Exclusive: We hear that Lionsgate has closed motion picture rights to produce a hybrid live-action movie based on Ubisoft’s Rabbids video game franchise. Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, who were behind such mega hits as Beauty and the Beast and Wonder are producing with Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The studio and producers are in advanced talks with Isn’t It Romantic‘s Todd Strauss-Schulson to direct. Alex Young from Mandeville will serve as an executive producer.
The Rabbids video games has sold more than 15M units to date and the animated television show airs in more than 110 countries. ‘Honey I Shrunk The Kids’ and ‘Captain America: First Avenger’ director Joe Johnston is reportedly in talks to return to the film for it’s Disney reboot.
Having pitched the idea to Disney, who lapped up the chance for a bit of nostalgia, Josh Gad is also in the driven seat to star in the film. Gad would play Wayne’s – played by Rick Moranis in the original – grown-up son, who follows in his father’s footsteps by not only becoming a scientist but also accidentally shrinking his children.
In the original 1989 film, Moranis plays Wayne Szalinski, a scientist and father who accidentally shrinks his teenage son and daughter, along with the two brothers from next door, to just a quarter of an inch in size. When they are thrown out with the trash, the four kids must travel through their backyard to return home while fending off insects, lawnmowers and other obstacles.

The Szalinski family is at it again. Disney is reportedly working on a reboot/belated sequel to classic 80s movie Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, with Mouse House favorite Josh Gad (Frozen 2) set to star. The film, simply titled Shrunk, will revolve around Nick Szalinski, the son of Rick Moranis’ Wayne from the first pic, who follows in his father’s footsteps and accidentally shrinks his kids with his wacky invention.
Based on a script from Todd Rosenberg, the studio is said to have originally planned to drop the movie on Disney Plus, but is suitably impressed with the material and wants to give it a theatrical release instead. Given this, they’re said to be in talks with original director Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) to helm the picture, after initially considering other filmmakers.

“Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” director Joe Johnston is in negotiations to helm Disney’s upcoming reboot of the film franchise, “Shrunk,” with Josh Gad in talks to star.
Gad pitched the story idea to Disney earlier this year, and the studio jumped on board the idea of reviving the classic 1989 pic starring Rick Moranis. “Shrunk” will mark the third sequel following the original film, with “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid” and direct-to-video “Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves” bowing in 1992 and 1997, respectively. Johnston was not involved with either film.
The studio met with other directors but felt bringing Johnston back was a perfect fit for all involved. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing through their Mandeville Films and Television banner, with Todd Rosenberg penning the script.

One of the main reasons that Happy Death Day was such a fun and entertaining movie was because of its star, Jessica Rothe. She was awesome in the movie, and she has just landed a new lead role in a new film at Universal Pictures called All My Life.
The movie is inspired by the true story of Jenn Carter and her husband Solomon Chau. The story follows “a young couple as they plan their wedding in the face of devastating news.” The devastating news was that Chau was dying from cancer. You can read the full story of what happened here. It a very touching but sad story.
Rothe will play the bride who is inspired by Carter. The movie is being directed by Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer) from a script based on Todd Rosenberg’s 2017 Black List script.
Rothe just wrapped the Amazon’s series Utopia, an adaptation of the U.

Developing a rapport with hotel staff members is not uncommon for celebrities, especially those who travel frequently enough because of work or press opportunities to have multiple encounters with folks who carry their luggage, make up their rooms and serve them food. But when comedian Sebastian Maniscalco warmly greets the Four Seasons Los Angeles server who’s about to take his order, he’s not just commemorating the umpteenth time he’s popped in for a Cobb salad; rather, it’s because they worked side by side almost two decades ago while Maniscalco was quietly building what has become a comedy empire.
It’s that tireless, immediate man-of-the-people relatability that has helped him connect with one audience after another, and eventually, carried him from one side of the table to the other where he is celebrating 20 years in comedy.
Maniscalco might be an under-the-radar performer to many among the teen...

Chicago – “When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way … “ And there is no more appropriate way to lyrically pay tribute to a classic staging of the Leonard Bernstein/Stephen Sondheim musical, “West Side Story.” There is a new staging currently at Lyric Opera of Chicago, which runs through June 2nd, 2019. Click here for more details and tickets.
Play Rating: 4.5/5.0
The musical first opened in 1957, and its message of fearing the “other” – by adapting the universality of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” – will resonate as long as people suffer through their bigotry. Two rival gangs, girl-from-one-side-guy-from-another then meet/fall in love, tragedy ensues, and along the way are one of the greatest collections of songs/lyrics in one musical, so standard that they are practically in everyone’s DNA. It’s “West Side Story,” babies, and this latest adaptation at the Lyric Opera of Chicago is spot on entertaining.

Shrunk is the tentative title of Disney's developing reboot/sequel to 1989 classic Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is getting a reboot movie - titled Shrunk – over at Disney.
It's not exactly breaking news that the Mouse House has been planning to reboot or remake a whole bunch of its older live-action movies (in addition to its animated movies), many of which will hit streaming platform Disney+ but the reboot of the classic size-adjustable family classic is apparently heading to cinemas after it was initially planned as a direct-to-streaming project.
Josh Gad is set to play an older version of Nick Szalinski, Wayne Szalinski's spectacled son in the original 1989 film; a concept that, technically, classifies Shrunk as a sequel, but “reboot” seems to be the dominant taxonomy for this project at the moment.
