Cinekid Script Lab, the European initiative for the development of children’s films, has picked 12 feature projects for its sixth edition, featuring more than 50% women across the selected teams.
The six-month script workshop will begin during the Cinekid for Professionals event in Amsterdam (Oct 21-25) and runs through to the Berlinale in February 2020.
A total of 10 of the 17 writers on the list are women, while nine of the 19 producers are female. There are no directors attached at this stage.

Hannes Holm, the director of huge box-office hit and Sweden’s Oscar submission A Man Called Ove, will next tell the story of Swedish pop star Ted Gärdestad.
His next film, Ted-Show Me Love is produced by Cecilia Forsberg-Becker and Lena Rehnberg for Stockholm-based Stella Nova Film. Peter Birro (Waltz for Monica) writes the script.

Annica Bellander, who most recently produced the record-breaking hit A Man Called Ove, is leaving Tre Vanner to join StellaNova Film.
She starts the new job today (April 1) at Stockholm-based StellaNova.
Bellander was a marketing executive in the music industry before being appointed marketing director at distributor Nordisk Film. She joined Tre Vänner in 2012 to move into production.

Ruben Östlund’s Force Majeure (Turist) may have missed out on the shortlist for the Best Foreign Language Academy Award but it cleaned up at last night’s Swedish Oscars - the Guldbagge Awards.

A group of producers and entertainment executives is heading to New York for a series of talks and one-on-one networking sessions over October 6-8.
Film i Väst, the Swedish regional film fund, sponsors the trip, which is organised by London and La-based consultants MediaXchange.
Mediaxchange CEO Katrina Wood (pictured), said the aim of the delegation – which she described as “very much the cream of the crop in Sweden” – was to foster close ties and build towards a reciprocal trip in February 2015 during the Gothenburg Film Festival.
“The goal is to build a bridge between the industry there and the Swedes in a more substantial way then has been done in the past, which was very much on a project-by-project basis,” said Wood.

Stjernströmer Björk has previously worked in book publishing, as an agent and running her own publishing agency. Five years ago she joined production company Tre Vänner, first by taking responsibility for the acquisition of book rights like A Man Called Ove (currently in production) and the Karin Fossum Inspector Sejer series. She then took on the position as head of development at the company.
When the company was acquired by Svensk Filmindustri in autumn 2013 she moved with the Tre Vänner team to Svensk.

'As If I'm Not There', the feature film debut from writer/director Juanita Wilson (The Door) has secured EUR220,000 funding from the latest Eurimages co-production fund. The Irish / Macedonian / Swedish co-production is produced by Irish producers Nathalie Lichtenthaeler (The Front Line) from Wide Eye Films and James Flynn (Ondine) from Octagon Films. Lena Rehnberg (Let the Right One In) of Sweden's Stella Nova Films and Vladimir Anastasov (The Border Post) of Macedonia's Sektor Film Dooel are also producing. Filming is scheduled to begin on location in Macedonia and Sweden in September 2009 with a seven week shoot planned. Irish Dop Tim Fleming (Once, Wide Open Spaces) is lensing.
