When it comes to the more famous romantic couplings the X-Men can lay claim to, it’s probably safe to say that pretty much everybody is familiar with pairings like Jean Grey and Cyclops or Rogue and Gambit. But, to comic book readers, there’s one that we haven’t really seen explored outside of this medium, and that’s Kitty Pryde and Colossus.
But when we take what’s unfolding in the books into account, maybe that’ll change soon enough, as the House of Ideas are allowing us to follow those two fan favorite mutants to the altar in the upcoming X-Men Wedding Special #1. Being a companion of sorts to the “‘Til Death Do Us Part” story arc found in X-Men Gold #26-30, it’ll be penned by series scribe Marc Guggenheim (TV’s Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow) and Kelly Thompson (Hawkeye, Rogue & Gambit). Not only that,...

All New Wolverine #22
Writer: Tom Taylor | Artist: Leonard Kirk | Inks: Cory Hamscher | Colours: Michael Garland & Erick Arciniega | Letters: Joe Sabino
Laura continues her journey into the larger Marvel Universe this issue teaming with everyone’s favourite space adventurers The Guardians Of The Galaxy. This is a new story arc that follows directly on from the previous ‘Immune’ arc. However there is enough information given to easily pick this issue up and enjoy it without having read the previous three. I can’t stress enough how much of a fan of three issue story arcs I am. I think I have mentioned it in every review so far. With all the guests stars that have appeared in the series so far Taylor does a brilliant job of keeping voices unique.

First having been announced as a one-shot, Marvel Legacy has since gone on to become the name of the publisher’s new initiative, which, as we recently learned, will pay homage to the myriad of great stories that got us to this point and pave the way for what’s yet to come.
What remained a mystery, though, was who would be tasked with ushering 53 ambitious titles into the next era. Well, fortunately for we the readers, the House of Ideas has divulged some of the first names to be crafting the highly anticipated titles.
First, let’s talk about The Falcon, since it already caught our attention when we learned that Sam Wilson will indeed be taking up the mantle once again. As it turns out, the “Take Flight!” arc will be penned by...

It’s that time of the month again to go through all comics laced with more than a hint of adamantium. This month I will bring you up to speed on the previous three issues of Weapon X, All New Wolverine #20-#21 and then review the first issue from the new creative team on Old Man Logan #25. Before I get into the reviews I must apologise for not giving proper credits for the books I reviewed last month, so that will be rectified from here on in.
Weapon X #2-#4
Writer: Greg Pak | Artist: Greg Land/Ibraim Roberson | Inks: Jay Leisten | Colours: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Joe Caramagna
The second and third issues of this series have a certain feel of the writer following a paint by numbers. That being said I am enjoying the series thus far, but because of the characters involved and the concept of Weapon X always appeals to me.

If anything, September will be an important month for Marvel because, if all goes according to plan, they’ll be just about ready to put their currently in progress crossover event, Secret Empire, behind them and poised to move forward with whatever their next major initiative may be. And while we haven’t been in contact with any flies on the walls over at the House of Ideas, we’re pretty sure the Marvel Legacy one-shot is the vanguard.
First, let’s talk a bit about Secret Empire because that seems like the logical thing to do. Not long ago, it was revealed that a tenth issue would be added to the limited series, something not unheard of when it comes to major events – especially those from Marvel. And although this would seem like a definitive end to the story, there where rumors swirling that an eleventh wasn’t out of the question.
From what we can tell, that’s not going to happen, but an epilogue of sorts in Secret Empire Omega #1 has been announced. Upon examining the solicitation below, it quickly becomes apparent that this will likely be an essential read given that it retains the very same creative team that worked on the mainline series itself.

Secret Empire Aftermath!
• Hydra has fallen, but the world is still not secure! As the heroes of the Marvel Universe stir from the wreckage of the battlefield, the inevitable rebuilding must begin.
• However, one question hangs in the air over the proceedings: What redemption can there be for Captain America?
40 Pgs./Rated T+ …$4.99
Should that meet its targeted September release – which may be a feat, especially when you consider that Secret Empire #6 has been delayed until July 19 – that’ll smoothly transition into the all important Marvel Legacy #1 (solicitation below). So, if the publisher does allow it to ship before Secret Empire concludes, we can only hope that it doesn’t completely spoil the crossover’s ending. But, then again, let’s not forget this is the same lot that released Who Will Wield The Shield? before Captain America: Reborn wrapped.

After years of putting the X-Men comic books on the backburner, Marvel has finally moved the spotlight back to the mutant superheroes. Among the many new titles being launched is Astonishing X-Men from writer Charles Soule and artist Jim Cheung, though the latter will only be sticking around for one issue.
That’s because Marvel’s big idea here is to have someone new join Soule each issue, with the likes of Aco, Phil Noto, Greg Land, Ramon Rosanas and Ron Garney all being lined up for subsequent instalments. What’s even more exciting though is we now know that fans can expect to see the return of Amahl Farouk, Aka the Shadow King.
If you watch Legion, you’ll already be familiar with the X-Men villain, and Soule has promised that we can expect big things from him in this series.
“He’s this incredibly ancient force of darkness – kind of a dream demon.

Although there will certainly be no shortage of titles featuring your favorite mutants over the next few months, one in particular that’s especially eye-catching is that of Astonishing X-Men. We could probably chat all day about why it’s so appealing, whether it be due to paying homage to the lauded book once penned by Joss Whedon or the fact that a “familiar menace has once again reared its ugly head – reborn, renewed and resurrected.”
Personally, I think the lineup of characters can sell the book on its own: Old Man Logan, Archangel, Mystique, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Psylocke and Fantomex. Seriously, how can anybody who had any measure of exposure to the X-Men during the 1990’s not be the slightest bit intrigued by that crew?
Perhaps that’s something writer Charles Soule is aware of, even subconsciously, but it sounds like he put together his own personal dream team,...

As a nearly lifelong fan of the X-Men, I’m happy to see the mutants regaining prominence among Marvel’s vast publishing line. With ResurrXion soon kicking off, one title that many will have their eyes affixed to is undoubtedly that of Weapon X.
Whether he’s headlining blockbuster movies or enjoying a slice of pie, it really seems like Old Man Logan can do no wrong these days. Well, apparently there are some who don’t share that sentiment and will be hunting down him and a handful of other mutants, effectively making for the strangest of bedfellows when the aged Wolverine finds himself backed into a corner along with the likes of Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Warpath and Domino. Needless to say, there’s no love lost among at least a few of those listed.

While there’s still a lot of biff-bang-pow for your buck this issue, Monsters Unleashed #3 also takes time to work through some plot points. Unfortunately, it also loses a bit of its momentum in the process.
The first half of the issue deals with the fun twist on the cliffhanger from last time. With the release of the second issue of Monsters Unleashed being less than one week away, Marvel is understandably allowing the hype train to gain as much momentum as possible. As such, they’ve released a preview in an attempt to sate the appetites of readers everywhere.
Uniting some of Marvel’s greatest superhero teams such as the Avengers, X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy, Monsters Unleashed pits a number of today’s top pop culture icons against, well, giant monsters. Sure, it may seem like an absurd notion, but not only is it making the dreams of some come true, but the publisher is apparently satisfied enough with the concept that an ongoing series is slated to kickoff later this year.

The Clone Conspiracy hasn’t finished yet, but Marvel has already announced that Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider is coming in April. As the latest addition to the Spider-Man family of titles, we don’t know a lot about what to expect as of right now, but something very interesting has been spotted on Greg Land’s variant cover for the first issue.
As you may recall, the response to Ben’s costume having a mouth of sorts in Mark Bagley’s designs wasn’t at all well-received, with fans taking to social media to ridicule the hero’s goofy looking smile. Others pointed out that it made him look a little too much like the villainous Spidercide, so is it possible that Marvel has taken all of that into account?
Well, while the mouth is still present on Bagley’s cover, it’s nowhere to be seen here.

Comic Books 101: Comic Books To Keep An Eye Out For In 2017
In 2016 Both Marvel and DC had their own version of companywide “reboots” to help improve sales and streamline their stories. For Marvel, the events of Secret Wars II opened up an “All New-All Different” Marvel Universe which saw the collapse of the multiverse (similar to DC’s Crisis on Infinite Earths) and “new” faces taking over for many beloved iconic characters. DC likewise followed up their New 52 line up with Rebirth! A way to slightly rework some of the areas that were lacking in their New 52 line up and get characters “back to basics”. Now with both companies seemingly back on track, what does 2017 have in store for them? Also what the heck is going on over with all those other indie comic book companies? Read on to see some of the big happenings coming in 2017!
