- Sal Ortiz was born on September 20, 1964 in Butte, Montana, USA. He is a production manager and producer, known for Power and Passion, My Brother's Keeper and Ladies Choice.
- As a soldier during Cold War, worked in US Army Military Intelligence.
- After military service, as a civilian, used to work for Defense Intelligence Agency (D.I.A.), traveling as necessary to Pentagon, Arlington Hall, Hawaii and other classified locations, (have Top Secret will travel).
- After working for D.I.A., interviewed with State Department as a precursor for a position with Central Intelligence Agency (C.I.A.) then interviewed with C.I.A. The interest to continue working in government Intel capacity diminished prior to 2nd interview for C.I.A. position due to family request. Left government Intel world and worked in civilian computer industry thereafter before changing career to Television industry.
- Due to technical and systems engineering background, used to troubleshoot and maintain mainframe computers, super mini computers and variety of other computer systems and networks (before PC's, MACs and laptops). Also trained and worked as a Broadcast & Automation Engineer and Technical Consultant for major TV shows and networks.
- Graduated from the UCLA: Television / Film & New Media program, received scholarships for excelling in Producer and Development curriculum. Received minors in Entertainment Law and Screenwriting.
- If us military veterans didn't do our job, you wouldn't have the freedom of choice of which mall or store to go to and of what to buy whenever you want. One would have a lot of restrictions. The main language would not be English. So make the time to thank a veteran, he and she is a reason you're free and independent. Be thankful and give them a job in the entertainment industry. They have transferable skills. A lot more capable than some of the knuckleheads I've met who've never served.
- Due to the high number of military veterans coming back from war zones with P.T.S.D. issues from spending excessive time in the war zone without ample rest, we should reinstate the draft to have more troops available to rotate. Civilians should have a mandatory military service commitment and vested interest in the United States as they become of age and taxpaying citizens.
