Drake’s Certified Lover Boy arrived Friday with a track list that features songwriting credits for the sampling and interpolating of the Beatles’ “Michelle,” the Notorious B.I.G., Right Said Fred and, most controversially, R. Kelly.
According to WhoSampled, Certified Lover Boy’s stripper ode “Tsu” utilizes the same symphonic intro found in Kelly’s 1998 single “Half on a Baby.” Due to the sample, Kelly is also a credited songwriter on the track, alongside Drake, the track’s producers (Harley Arsenault, Noel Cadastre, Oc Ron G) and Christopher Cross, Timbaland and...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.”)
“The Masked Singer” brought together its nine remaining Season 3 contestants, a.k.a. the “Super Nine” finalists, for a special supersized episode on Wednesday. By the time the two-hour installment ended, we were down to the “Super Eight,” as one more competitor was eliminated and unmasked: The White Tiger.
During the episode, Group A’s Kangaroo, White Tiger and Turtle, Group B’s Banana, Frog and Kitty, and Group C’s Astronaut, Rhino and Night Angel all performed for the first time against contestants outside of the initial lineups they were put in for the third season of the Fox singing competition.
After they sang their chosen songs, it was time for “Masked Singer” panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, along with the studio audience, to choose the “weakest” contestant for elimination. They picked White...

Diane director/screenwriter Kent Jones on his terrific cast: "I'm working on a movie with Andrea Martin? That woman is a genius. So is Mary Kay, obviously. You know, Joyce Van Patten, I just watched Mikey and Nicky before I made the movie." Photo: Anne-Katrin Titze
In the final instalment of my conversation with Kent Jones on Diane, which stars Mary Kay Place and is executive produced by Martin Scorsese, we discussed the casting by Jodi Angstreich of Joyce Van Patten, Andrea Martin, Deirdre O'Connell, Estelle Parsons, Barbara Andres, and Phyllis Somerville in meaningful roles, watching Elaine May's Mikey and Nicky before filming, the soundtrack that includes Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, John Cage, Right Said Fred, the Peppermint Trolley Company, and what is or is not a MacGuffin.
Kent Jones: "Mary Kay and I talked about what she would move to and that would be the Leon Russell song.

Now that Game of Thrones' most recent season has come to a close, it's been pretty hard to accept the fact that we won't be seeing Jon Snow, the saddest, sexiest bastard in all of the seven kingdoms, on our TV screens every Sunday. Luckily, Jon's offscreen alter ego, Kit Harington, is currently filming the movie The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, where he was spotted listening to music during some downtime in between shooting scenes. What's on his iPod, we wonder. What music might the great Jon Snow jam out to when he's not taking down Ramsay Bolton or fulfilling his destiny to save the world? We have a few ideas: "Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi "The Wall" by Bruce Springsteen "Zombie" by The Cranberries "Don't Hold the Wall" by Justin Timberlake "Daddy Lessons" by Beyoncé "Winter Song" by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michelson "Sometimes...

Any man who can make Right Said Fred politically resonant is clearly doing something right. And John Oliver is such a man. He certainly dreamed up a novel way to trash Syria's Bashar al-Assad on his HBO show, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. After news reports that the dictator downloaded iTunes tracks from Lmfao, Chris Brown and Right Said Fred, Oliver noted, "He's half mass murderer and half your creepy sophomore-year roommate." But then he brought on Right Said Fred to rework their Nineties-cheese classic "I'm Too Sexy" into...

In 2011 that film was Oscar winner The King's Speech. Now he is Oscar-tipped again for Les Misérables. Here the 'tough guy' director, who made his first film while still at school, talks about the epic he sees as a timeless 'anthem for the dispossessed'
It was almost two years ago that I first met Tom Hooper. He was with Colin Firth, and their film, The King's Speech – which Hooper directed and in which Firth starred – was weeks away from winning its Oscars. It was a heady occasion. An excitable Hooper did most of the talking (Firth detests interviews) and the film – about the struggle George VI had with his speech impediment when he came to the throne in 1936 – became the unlikely winner that delighted everyone who saw it: an impossible act to follow.
And yet, today, Hooper is attempting to trump it on an epic scale. He has taken on...

Welcome to No Fact Zone’s weekly roundup of cultural references on The Colbert Report. From Darcy to Danger Mouse, String Theory to Shakespeare, we’ve got the keys to this week’s obscure, oddball, and occasionally obscene cultural shout-outs (hey!).
Cheerio Zoners! Another smashing week on the Report! It was great to catch a glimpse into British culture. I usually only get that from my favorite Brit Coms. I nearly broke a rib laughing during the tea segment! And how about James Franco? He really is living my dream. If I had the chance, I’d go back to school in a heartbeat! What were your favorite segments?

In what I've decided to dub the weirdest 6 minutes I've spent on YouTube in a significant amount of time, here is a music video for a version of The Beatles' "Let It Be," as sung by a convoy of American and European celebs from the 80's and 90's. Some of them still respectable, some of them cult figures, and others are... Has-beens would be putting it kindly.
Throughout the song, the video keeps up an impressive level of befuddlement by slowly trickling out weirder and weirder appearances. Robert Englund? Right Said Fred? Tonya Harding? Wait, Glenn Close? Carlton? How? More importantly, why?!

I don't know what it says about me that I recognize pretty much all of these people. It was just the other day that I was asking people if anyone else remembers Michael Learns to Rock, to no avail. This video kind of...
