- Elspeth Domville is a journalist and archive producer, researcher and rights clearance specialist whose career spans over 25 years working in documentary, feature films, dramatic television, factual programming, advertising and for national museums. Starting her career as a news reporter and then producer, she moved on to long format programming with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's renowned Documentary Unit. She formed her own company in 1998 and has since worked on hundreds of hours of television programs and films around the world. Her regular clients include HBO, PBS, the BBC, CBC, Channel 4, HISTORY, Discovery, National Geographic, ZDF, ARTE and the Smithsonian Channel. She has worked on a number of theatrical film releases as well as exhibits for several prominent museums and national galleries around the world. She is a strong supporter of education and professionalism in this field and in that spirit is a founding member (2005) and current President of the Visual Researchers' Society of Canada (2015 - present). She has sat on numerous professional panels at film festivals and industry events and regularly gives master classes. Productions she has been involved with have gone on to win over 100 awards among them a Peabody and a place on the 2013 Oscar short list for Best Feature Documentary. Her work has been honored directly with several nominations including five Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Awards (the equivalent of an Emmy Award or a BAFTA).
