Adam Clayton, longtime bassist for worldwide hit rock band U2, has married his girlfriend of four years, Brazilian model Mariana Teixeira De Carvalho, reports the BBC.
The news outlet says the couple, who got engaged earlier this year, quietly wed at the Dublin registry office in Ireland on Wednesday (Sept. 4). Reportedly only U2 guitarist The Edge (real name David Evans) and his wife Morleigh Steinberg were in attendance.
However, a large celebration with family and friends is expected this coming weekend in France, with speculation that it will take place at Eze les Roses villa outside Nice, which is owned by Bono and The Edge. The festivities kick off on Friday.
Clayton has been engaged twice previously -- once to model Naomi Campbell -- but this is his first trip down the aisle. It is also Mariana's first marriage. Clayton has a son from a previous relationship.
