- James Barclay grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and divided his time as a youth between the stage and the ice-hockey arena. When dreams of playing in the NHL didn't pan out, he took up golf and eventually became a professional in 1993. In 2000, he packed his bags and moved to Europe, where he shifted his focus to film-making and began to write, produce and direct his own work.
