The delightful Colin From Accounts is back for season 2, and the first trailer has landed. It’s right here, in fact.
Colin From Accounts was one of the most wonderful surprises of 2022. Written by and starring real life husband and wife Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall, the warm hearted Australian sitcom follows the story of Gordon and Ashley, who meet when she flashes him while she’s crossing the street, causing him to lose concentration and run over a dog.
Deciding to care for him rather than have him put down, the two gradually get to know and, eventually, like each other while looking after the dog they call Colin From Accounts.
The synopsis for series 2 reads as follows:
After Gordon (Brammall) and Ashley (Dyer) are brought together in season one by a spontaneous nipple flash and the subsequent accident that injured the titular (no pun intended) dog, season two...

When The Jonas Brothers open their show in Brisbane by walking out to your animated kid show’s theme tune, then that theme song and that show have done way more than entertain some 6-year-olds. The show in question, “Bluey,” has been a phenomenon for a while — it’s approved by the kids of “Abbott Elementary” as well as millions worldwide — and the music by composer Joff Bush and a coterie of talented collaborators has fueled two albums and untold instances of “Dance Mode.”
Music has always anchored the wordless sequences where “Bluey” reaches its most poignant heights — whether gently cribbing from Gustav Holst as younger sister Bingo swims past the planets in her dream in “Sleepy Time” or ever-so-slightly tweaking a recurring theme as Rusty walks off the cricket pitch in “Cricket” and high fives his future self as that Rusty steps up to a much bigger stage. But the latest,...

In Paramount+’s imported Australian romantic comedy series Colin from Accounts, the star-crossed lead couple Ashley and Gordon’s meet-cute starts saucy but ends not-so-cute when, spotting him behind the wheel and liking what she sees, she impulsively flashes her nipple; distracted, he accidentally hits a dog, the titular Colin.
And as stars, co-creators and off-screen married couple Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall recounted it at Deadline’s Contenders TV panel, the inspiration for the series sprang from a somewhat similar real-life mishap.
“There was a small moment that happened when I was a nanny,” recalled Dyer. “I was pushing someone else’s child in a stroller and a man took his shirt off and I pushed the stroller into a lamppost. And I thought, ‘Oh sh*t – this must happen all the time.’ And I was kind of engaged with the idea of what happens when kind of attraction...

Paramount+ has picked up the second season of the hit Australian comedy Colin From Accounts. Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer return to write, executive produce and star in the new season, which is currently in production in Australia.
The show follows the lives of two flawed and funny people who begin an unconventional romance after being brought together when Ash (Dyer) spontaneously flashes her nipple at Gordon (Brammall), causing him to hit and injure a dog with his car.
In addition to the pair, the cast also stars Emma Harvie as Megan, Helen Thomson as Lynelle, Genevieve Hegney as Chiara, Michael Logo as Brett and Tai Hara as James.
As Deadline revealed in December, Season 2 begins with Ash and Gordon living together and trying to get their beloved, disabled dog back from new owners. Hurbert-Burns said in a recent interview there would be “a journey to see how our heroes get reunited.

Breakout Australia comedy Colin From Accounts is back in production.
An official green light of Season 2 of the hit Binge sitcom came in August, after writers and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer chose to down their pens in solidarity with WGA strike in the U.S. over the summer.
Exec producer Alison Hurbert-Burns from Binge told Deadline in October production would begin in “coming months,” adding: “As an Australian program it was outside of the strike, but they just felt it was the right thing to do.”
Brammall and Dyer finished the scripts once a deal was struck at the end of September. Production is now back underway across Sydney, with Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios returning the produce.

As with any romantic comedy, there's an implicit question at the heart of Colin From Accounts: Will Ashley (Harriet Dyer) and Gordon (Patrick Brammall), two people brought together by a near-fatal dog accident, end up together? Season 1 builds toward an answer as Ashley and Gordon address their own issues and work up the courage to take their relationship to the next level. By Episode 6, "The Good Room," they've moved past their early awkwardness, including a hookup that's abruptly halted due to Gordon's recent cystoscopy, and become a legitimate couple — they're even serious enough that Gordon is willing to suffer through an evening with Ashley's overbearing mother Lynelle (Helen Thomson) and her creepy partner Lee (Darren Gilshenan).

With the new series Colin From Accounts — streaming on Paramount+ following a Foxtel/Binge debut in its native Australia — creator/stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer have set themselves possibly one of the most difficult challenges in the history of romantic comedies.
How do you make a show in which, within the first five minutes, the main characters are responsible for running over an adorable dog and, by the end of eight episodes, have the audience liking those characters, if not necessarily rooting for their coupling?
The answer comes down to clever writing and the chemistry between Brammall and Dyer, who are married in addition to their collaborations here. Colin From Accounts never wholly shakes its “They ran over a dog!” bleakness — the dog, it should be emphasized clearly, is mostly Ok — nor does it wholly break out from the rom-com conventions it’s so keenly aware of. But it...

Directed by Trent O’Donnell, the series Colin From Accounts dwells on the story of a paralyzed dog and its two caretakers, Gordon and Ashley. The comedy is lighthearted, with a hint of romance. How the two bond over the dog, turning from complete strangers to a cute couple, has been depicted in the series. The age difference between the couple adds to the layers of the comic elements. The amazing cast includes Harriet Dyer, Patrick Brammall, and others. They have done complete justice to the first season of the series. Does Colin ignite a spark between the couple? Do they regret their decision to give Colin away to another family? Let us find the answers to these questions!

The circumstances that bring together the lovestruck leads of Colin From Accounts, an Australian comedy streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S., are anything but cute. In the opening minutes of the premiere, microbrewery owner Gordon (Patrick Brammall) is driving to work when medical student Ashley (Harriet Dyer) walks in front of his car and flashes her nipple as she passes by. Distracted by the early-morning nudity, Gordon accidentally hits a dog, and the two scramble to get him to a veterinarian before it's too late. They make it to the vet in time, but they're faced with a choice: Put him down, or pay for his expensive, life-saving surgery and adopt the "high-needs dog" as their own.

Not so long ago, the only Australian TV shows imported by the UK and US were soaps and the odd kids’ series. Neighbours, Home & Away, Prisoner: Cell Block H, Heartbreak High, and child trauma factory Round the Twist went overseas, but not much else.
It didn’t make for a very complete picture. 30 years ago, if you’d asked a British person to conjure up Australia based solely on its available TV output, they’d have pictured a land of bait shops, haunted lighthouses, prison wings, and cul de sacs where good neighbours become good friends. Ask one now, and thanks to streaming, it’d be a much broader church, based on viewing comedies, thrillers, dramas, detective shows and more.

James Hawes‘ Holocaust drama “One Life” will be the American Express Gala at the 67th BFI London Film Festival.
The film tells the true story of Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to WWII, rescued 669 children from the Nazis. Fifty years later, in 1988, Winton is haunted by the fate of the children he wasn’t able to bring to safety in England. It’s not until a live television show “That’s Life” surprises him with the surviving children – now adults – seated all around him that he can finally make peace with the loss he had carried for five decades.
The cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Flynn, Lena Olin, Romola Garai, Alex Sharp, Marthe Keller, Jonathan Pryce and Helena Bonham-Carter.
Hawes said: “This film pretty much begins and ends in London and says so much about the people of this city, its heart and its history.
