John Beasley Composer, Pianist, Arranger, Recording Artist, Producer
Veteran pianist-composer-arranger John Beasley is a prodigious
performer and a prolific composer working in many styles and genres,
with musicians from the jazz, classical, rock and pop music worlds, and
on various platforms, including recordings, TV, film, video games, and
commercials.
An original artist with a highly expressive and personal style, he
released his ninth album Positootly!, which has remained on the Jazz
Charts since its release in September 2009. His credit list reads like
a who's who list in the music world, including Miles Davis, Steely Dan,
Freddie Hubbard, Carly Simon, Barbara Streisand, Baaba Maal, Queen
Latifah, Christian McBride, Chaka Khan, and James Brown. He spent 10
years writing for TV shows such as Cheers, Star Trek, and Fame. On the
big screen, he has performed or created sounds for movies like Wall-E,
Finding Nemo, and Austin Powers. For the past few years, he has worked
on various reality shows as Musical Director or Lead Arranger,
including American Idol, Pussycat Dolls Present, and America's Got
Talent. When Beasley is not touring he is in his studio writing,
practicing, and chanting.
