NBC has yet to make decisions about three of its comedies.
American Auto, Grand Crew and Young Rock all remain on the bubble after the network unveiled its fall schedule with these three shows absent from fall and midseason.
NBC said “decisions are yet to be made” on the trio.
American Auto comes from Superstore creator Justin Spitzer. The series premiered its second season in January and it ended its 13-episode run in April.
Starring Ana Gasteyer, Harriet Dyer and Jon Barinholtz, American Auto hails from Spitzer and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. Written by Spitzer, American Auto is set at the headquarters of a major American automotive company in Detroit, where a floundering group of executives try to rediscover the company identity amidst a rapidly changing industry.
Harriet Dyer, Humphrey Ker, Michael B. Washington, Tye White and X Mayo also star.
Spitzer executive produces via his Spitzer Holding Company with Kapital’s Kaplan.

Exclusive: We’ll be seeing more of André the Giant on Young Rock. Matthew Willig, who recurred as the character on the first season, has been promoted to series regular for Season 2 of Dwayne Johnson’s NBC comedy series inspired by his life. The series comes from Johnson and Fresh Off the Boat creator/executive producer Nahnatchka Khan.
Willig’s André, one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling, commands respect wherever he goes. André was very private and didn’t let many people in, but he was very close to the Johnson family and had a unique and beautiful relationship with Dewey (Johnson’s nickname when he was a young boy) who idolized the 8th Wonder of the World.
Willig appeared in 6 episodes in the first season.

When it came to mounting the NBC half hour series Young Rock, getting it real, and getting it right, warts and all, was key for Dwayne Johnson and the actors portraying the younger version of the wrestler-action star and his family.

All of the major studios are making a concerted effort to increase the amount of diversity and representation in their biggest projects, and while the Fast and Furious franchise has always boasted a culturally rich and ethnically diverse ensemble, it’s never felt the need to shout about it from the rooftops in an effort to score societal brownie points.

"We wouldn't be gangsters if we always did what we were told..." Quiver Distribution has debuted a new official US trailer for the New Zealand gang drama Savage, which originally premiered at the London Film Festival last year. We also posted the original Nz trailer a few months ago before its release there. Inspired by the true stories of New Zealand's street gangs across 30 years, Savage follows Danny at three defining moments in his life as he grows from a boy into the violent enforcer of a gang in New Zealand. "Danny and Moses, who were both raised on the streets, shuffled through New Zealand's juvenile justice system, and ultimately became high-ranking members of an infamous Maori street gang -- despite the fact that Danny is white." Starring Jake Ryan as Danny, and John Tui as Moses, along with Chelsie Preston Crayford and Olly Presling. This looks gritty and intense,...

"Everyone should see who you are!" Madman Films has released the first official trailer for a New Zealand drama titled Savage, which premiered at the London Film Festival last year. This looks like one hell of a film. Not a story I was expecting to see, but I dig it - some solid footage in this trailer. Here's...

Local films from directors Jo-Anne Brechin and Steven McGregor are among the 12 world premieres to feature on the line-up for Miff 68½ – Melbourne International Film Festival’s upcoming digital-only iteration.
To run August 6-23, the event will encompass some 69 features and 44 shorts from 56 countries – an impressive number given the rights complications inherent in putting together an online showcase. Forty-nine per cent of films are from a female director, and all films are available to stream across Australia.
Miff artistic director Al Cossar said: “I’m delighted to say that, despite the extraordinary circumstances of 2020, Miff’s ‘radical act’ is to keep going and continue on our mission to bring you the world through unforgettable screen experiences. At Miff, we are driven by a deep understanding that film has the ability to entertain, inspire, illuminate and empower audiences in a way that few other...

Dwayne Johnson isn’t done with his Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw franchise yet! He has big plans for the future, and in a recent interview with MTV, he shared his vision for the franchise and said he’s looking to build a whole new team around Hobbs moving forward. He explained:
“The dream is that we create a team around Hobbs that the world will love. Create a team around Hobbs that is montley crew of unique characters, but all the best in class at what they do. All of them self deprecating in their humor. The whole crew, that’s what I would like. Then when they’re best in their class, they’re lethal and they can kill and kick ass. But, then they just have the greatest time. That’s the goal.”
