The Pretenders are back with their new album Relentless.
Relentless, The Pretenders’ follow-up to 2020’s Hate for Sale, was produced by multiple Grammy Award-nominee David Wrench at London’s Battery Studios. Along with bandleader Chrissie Hydne, the album features performances from Kris Sonne (drums), Chris Hill (double bass), Dave Page (bass), and Carwyn Ellis (keyboards and guitars), as well as a track featuring Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead.
“I enjoy seeing the various meanings and origins of a word,” Hynde said of the album’s title in a press release. “And I liked the definition: ‘showing no abatement of intensity.’ So when it came to an album title, it seemed fitting. You know…to keep doing it. I think anyone in a band is constantly questioning if they should keep going. It starts as a youthful pursuit and eventually, it makes you wonder, why am I doing this? It’s the life of the artist.

The Motley Fool announced today that Chris Hill, longtime host of the Motley Fool Money podcast and radio show, is leaving at the end of the month. One of The Motley Fool’s longest-tenured employees, Hill leaves the company after nearly 26 years.
“Getting the chance to create and host Motley Fool Money has been the highlight of my time at The Motley Fool,” said Hill, who has hosted the show since its first episode in February 2009. “One of the things I’ve always loved is the team approach we’ve taken to helping listeners understand what’s happening on Wall Street, bringing a long-term perspective to daily market news, and offering stock ideas and analysis. We have a deep bench, and that same team approach will continue after I’m gone. With the show in such a position of strength, the time is right for me to explore the next chapter in my professional life.

Ruin Me is a horror film that makes fun of horror tropes. This title has already had a long run on the film festival circuit. Now, Rlj Entertainment is set to release the film on home entertainment formats, this October. In Ruin Me, several horror fans sign up for a Slasher Sleepout. In the 36 hour event, these six strangers are subjected to strange characters and events, in a remote wood. As well, Ruin Me stars: Marcienne Dwyer, Matt Dellapina, Chris Hill and several others. A preview of the film's wide release, in the United States, is hosted here. While on the road, writers Preston DeFrancis and Trysta A. Bissett have talked about this release. DeFrancis was studying directing in the University of South Carolina, while Bissett was researching scriptwriting (iHorror). Together, they developed several comedies and romantic comedies, before turning to horror. At a special haunting event, they found their...

The discussion around diversity in film production has been on the rise over the recent years with the #oscarssowhite campaign and success of films like Black Panther. Continuity, a non-profit whose mission is to expand diversity in media production, puts action behind this desire. Continuity is taking applications for their third annual media production training program. This program focuses on helping underrepresented filmmakers gain the skills needed to secure employment or start their own business in the media production industry. Applications for their new 36-week program are being accepted through April 30th at continuitystl.com.
“Minorities are dramatically underrepresented in media today, especially behind the camera,” explains Dan Parris, Executive Director of Continuity. “Our free, 36-week hands-on intensive filmmaking course provides skills-based training, mentorship and opportunities for untapped talent in our city.”
Starting August 2019, a group of 10 adults will have the opportunity to join the third annual media training program.

It’s been over a twenty years since Scream reinvented the slasher genre, heralding a new age of post-modern, self-referential horror. In the two decades since, the genre has found its way back to its more horrific, and in a lot of cases cliched, ways – with modern filmmakers, many of whom grew up in the 80s at the height of the slashers popularity, rediscovering what made the much-maligned genre so great. However, given that film, like life, is cyclical, it means its probably about time for yet another “reinvention.”
And to that end comes Ruin Me….
Every Halloween, more extreme haunted attractions open for business, each promising even more thrills. Some have taken this to a whole new level.
