The third installment in the “Rocky” spinoff film series stars Jordan as the title character, boxing star Adonis Creed. Last week’s episode of The Mandalorian introduced Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano into live-action, gave her plenty of chances to dual wield her lightsabers and also revealed Baby Yoda’s real name and backstory, so “The Tragedy” had a lot to live up to. And after an exposition-heavy outing, Mando and Grogu’s latest adventure was basically one long action sequence, and all the better for it.
Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett returned alongside Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand, forming an alliance with the title hero as they tried to protect The Child from an onslaught of Moff Gideon’s forces. An episode with so much going on needed a steady hand to steer the ship, so Jon Favreau wisely recruited Robert Rodriguez for his Star Wars debut, and the multi-talented filmmaker didn’t disappoint.

Disney and Lucasfilm would like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to be a victory lap. And on one level it certainly will: no matter what it’ll make money and will probably be the biggest film of the holiday period, too. But as the finale to their Sequel Trilogy, it needs to go above and beyond merely being just a hit.
After all, Disney’s stewarding of the franchise has taken several knocks over the last two years, including continued problems with directors, a fractious relationship with the fan community post-The Last Jedi and the critical and financial failure of Solo. If The Rise of Skywalker is considered a disappointing finale, then the whole Sequel Trilogy will be tainted.
With the world premiere now behind us though and press screenings taking place across the world, the embargo has finally lifted on social media reactions and thankfully, it looks like J.J. Abrams has nailed it,...

Ever since Sony announced their Tom Hardy-starring Venom movie, fans have been wondering what (if any) connection it would have to Spider-Man. While I suppose a completely disconnected film might work, the foundation of Venom’s character is his hatred for the webslinger – stemming from Peter Parker’s rejection of the symbiote after he realized it was trying to permanently bond with his body. Though both Sony and Marvel have denied any chance of Spidey swinging by for a cameo, a source is now saying that “he knows” Tom Holland is going to appear in Venom.
Said source is writer/director Jon Schnepp, who’s directed Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros and the feature-length documentary about the aborted 1990s Tim Burton Superman project, The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened? His opinion on this comes via Collider Video Head of Development Kristian Harloff, who today Tweeted the following:

After asking celebrity guests to say I Love Movies, Fandango is now inviting other collaborators to its Movie3Some. The ticketing company’s Movieclips brand has taken up residency at YouTube Space La, where it is shooting a weekly series dedicated to current films.
