Although already sort of announced, it's become official that Lightning will distribute D. Kerry Prior's horror comedy The Revenant here in the States some time in 2012. David Anders, Senyo Amoaku, Cathy Shim, Louise Griffiths, Jonathan Mangum all star. "This breakout horror comedy centers around a fallen soldier who somehow finds he has joined the ranks of the living dead. Bart Gregory (Anders) has just recently been laid to rest - so why is he still up and walking around? The only person Bart can turn to for answers is his best friend Joey (Wylde), and before long the two pals have surmised that the blood is the life. In order to survive, Bart requires a steady supply of it. Convinced that no one will miss the drug dealers and killers who have transformed La....!"...

The time when men invade U.S. theaters is about to come and it has been marked with the premiere of "The Expendables" in Los Angeles. On Tuesday, August 3, the movie had its top-notch actors attending the event which took place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Black carpet was rolled to welcome bulked-up men such as Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke. To soften the bold atmosphere, those guys took along lovely ladies such as Jennifer Flavin who accompanied the film's director and scribe Sylvester, Rumer Willis and Emma Heming who sandwiched Bruce, and Anastassija Makarenko who happily stood next to Mickey.
More cast members including Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Senyo Amoaku, Charisma Carpenter and Amin Joseph also supported the special screening. Coming as guests, meanwhile, were Kellan Lutz, "The Last Exorcism" stars Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell, Rob Schneider as well as Bai Ling.

The first official look at The Expendables has hit the net. Running at over three minutes, the preview shows a plethora of action and a handful of comedy mixed in with the gore and violence. The upcoming 2010 action film, written and directed by Sylvester Stallone pays tribute to the blockbuster action films during the 1980s and early '90s. The plot follows a team of the world's most dangerous and highly-trained mercenaries who go on a mission to South America to overthrow and assassinate a powerful, evil dictator and his army, who have been causing devastation, chaos and torture for the last twenty years. Producer Avi Lerner has reported that the film will be cut down to two versions, a PG-13-rating edit and an R-rated version, both of which will be screen tested to see which one will be officially released. However what's really attracting attention is its all star cast listed below.

A trailer has finally arrived for D. Kerry Prior's undead, horror-comedy, The Revenant. Our boy rochefort gave the film a glowing review form Fantastic Fest and after finally seeing some footage, I'm really looking forward to checking it out.
Synopsis:
The Revenant is a story about an ancient pestilence recurring to infect modern society.
Officer First Class Bart Gregory is killed while fighting in Middle East. His body is shipped back to the United States and laid to rest, but before the lid can be put on his tomb, Bart inexplicably awakens in his coffin and climbs from his grave; confused, horrified--a moldy, putrefying living corpse--a Revenant.
The Revenant stars David Anders, Senyo Amoaku and Cathy Shim.
Trailer after the break.
Embedded video stripped, see full HTML version.

A new study called, get ready Nerds, “A thermodynamic basis for prebiotic amino acid synthesis and the nature of the first genetic code,” compiled by Ralph Pudritz and Paul Higgs at McMaster University in Canada is claiming that life in the Universe may be inevitable where there are the basic chemical building blocks and that the code for life, D.N.A. is built into the very basic physical laws of the universe. I wrote that sentence before coffee! Life is built on 20 amino acids and the most basic first 10 are all that is required for basic pre-biotic life. The first 10 seem easy to cook. The laws of thermodynamics seem to apply to the formation of these amino acids and therefore life. If life is a natural evolvement from simple to complex states given the right chemistry (now found to be even more common) and based on the universal law of thermodynamics...
