As Americans, we grow up with a few seemingly inborn values (similar to Robocop's directives) ... bigger is better, faster is better and if one is good, several is great (sometimes referred to as 'The More The Merrier' Philosophy). Well, some of our UK brethren have obviously gotten on board with these ideals and applied them to horror. The result? Slasher House...a film with one girl and four killers. I don't like her chances.
Starring Eleanor James as the unfortunate lead character, Red, Slasher House plants our heroine right in the middle of an abandoned mental asylum. (How do these things keep turning up abandoned? We've really got to do some research here and get some more competent people running these nut houses. Please get me Amadeus Arkham and Drs. Harleen Quinzel and Jonathan Crane to handle this). To make things worse, the place isn't completely abandoned. Stalking...

In the mood to watch something new but don't have a lot of time to spend in one sitting? Then check out the third and final installment of The Horror Vault Trilogy, which is out on DVD now and contains five separate tales of terror and depravity.
Back in May of 2008 Melissa reviewed the first installment of The Horror Vault (review here), and her advice to the filmmakers was to concentrate on quality over quantity and cut back on the number of films included (Volume 1 had nine films in all). It seems they took her advice as Volumes 2 and 3 both contain five each. Below is the list of what's included in Volume 3:
Synopsis:
Starting off, it's "A Christmas Haunting" directed by Kim Sønderholm and starring Kim Sønderholm, Russ Diapper, Tanja Bønke, Mette Løvendahl and celebrity model Katrine Poulsen. There are also some brief cameos by well known indie stars such as April Monique Burril,...

Upcoming Horror Movies.com has a great article on horror releases for the week of February 23rd, of which Colour from the Dark is but one. The trailer for Colour from the Dark puts into a visual sphere what bi-polar disorder must feel like. In one scene things are calm as character Lucia picks vegetables from her farm. Thirty seconds later this proud wife and sister is stabbing friends and family with a pitchfork. Happy then sad and back again. Have a look at the Colour from the Dark trailer below, which stars Debbie Rochon, and then visit the Uhm website to view over fifteen titles that will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray formats this following week.

British producer Neil Jones and director Stuart Brennan sent along a batch of exclusive stills (see them below) from their eagerly awaited horror indie Zombies Of The Night. The undead saga, scripted by Leo McKellen, is very close to finishing postproduction.
“The movie was conceived out of a frustration with other projects I was working on,” Brennan tells Fango. “I’ve been an advocate of the just-do-it approach to filmmaking, and I’m now at a stage in my career where projects are at the mercy of financiers and distributors, and that gets frustrating. It had been 10 months since I had last been on a film set, and I just rang up a bunch of crewmembers and asked if they wanted to spend a few days at a hotel in the countryside and shoot a feature.

The producers of the new sci-fi shocker Braincell gave Fango the exclusive first look at the movie’s trailer; check it out below the cut. The preview features a nice amount of blood, and also a bit of skin, so it ain’t work-safe!
Directed by Alex Birrell and lensed in Liverpool, England and Naples, Italy, Braincell (which we last covered here) stars Raine Brown as a young woman who discovers horrifying experiments with violent results taking place at a university where her uncle (Joe Zaso, also one of the producers) is a professor. Darkness Surrounds Roberta’s Eileen Daly, Necroville’s Billy Garberina and Colour From The Dark’s Eleanor James co-star; the music is by Marco Werba, who’s also scoring Dario Argento’s new Giallo. “There’s a lifetime’s worth of horror-film watching in Braincell,” Birrell tells us, and Zaso adds, “It’s a very savage...

Three of the most promising British horror directors have joined forces for an anthology feature which wraps principal photography this week. Pat (Killerkiller) Higgins, James (The Witches Hammer) Eaves and Alan (Jesus Vs. The Messiah) Ronald have pooled their talents for Bordello Death Tales, which aims to revive the British omnibus subgenre that flourished in the 1970s, and provided the exclusive pics seen below.
“Pat and I had been talking about doing a multistory horror project for a while, and came up with the idea of setting it in a brothel,” Eaves tells Fango. “We needed a third director, and Pat suggested Al, who’d worked with him on all of his films. What started as an idea in a pub has blossomed into a full-fledged feature with what I believe are three strong and original tales.”
