Alexis Adkins is originally from Decatur, GA. A rather precocious
child, her parents taught her to read and write at age 3. At this time,
they discovered the challenge of painting over a toddler's heavy handed
use of black crayon (capital A's as high as she could reach around the
room). This early bit of art was well, the writing on the wall.
Initially her creativity was stoked to quell childhood fears of
thunderstorms, snakes, and such. This laid the foundation for the birth
of DixieMouse Productions .
In her teenage years she tried her hand in the music scene, fronting
bands, writing lyrics, working in a recording studio in Houston. Over
time her lyrics took a more poetic bend, then short stories. From this,
she learned how her words have the ability to make people laugh,
distract them form their daily lives, put them at ease; giving the
opportunity to share her rare perspective into human interactions and
perceptions.
Meticulous and methodical as she is passionate and dedicated, Alexis
Adkins created DixieMouse Productions. Currently it is the home to
scripts she has written, giving voice to a new type of female while
incorporating what she calls "Social Physics", for every action in a
social movement - especially when going to extremes - there is an equal
and opposite reaction.
Her goal is to incorporate other unique voices, giving them the
opportunity to be heard and the light they deserve.
