Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack revolves around “a teenage boy, Everett, and girl, Blake, whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature. Paramount has decided to not move forward with a second season of “Wolf Pack,” Variety has confirmed.
Based on Edo Van Belkom’s book series and created by Jeff Davis, the show follows two teens whose lives are changed when a California wildfire awakens a supernatural creature. Season 1 aired in Jan 2023 alongside the “Teen Wolf” movie. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rodrigo Santoro, Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson and Tyler Lawrence Gray starred.
Sources say Paramount hoped the audience behind the series would have grown from Season 1 to Season 2, but due to the dual Hollywood strikes, the likelihood of that happening was cut short since production was stopped. Season 2 would’ve arrived roughly two years after Season 1 debuted.
The series serves as the latest Paramount+ original to be canceled following “Joe Pickett,” which ended after two seasons in October 2023. Along with the rest of last year’s cancellations including “iCarly,...

Wolf Pack, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, will not return to Paramount+ for a second season.
Although the drama series never was officially renewed for Season 2, the team was actively working on it, with production having been slated to begin in February, sources close to production told Deadline. Series creator Jeff Davis told the cast about the cancellation this week.
It comes as Paramount+ continues cutting costs, which also includes mass layoffs. Bob Bakish addressed this in a memo to his team on Thursday that the company will continue to reduce its global workforce “to operate as a leaner company and spend less” after Deadline revealed over the weekend that the company was bracing for more staff cuts, thought to be in the hundreds including the programming teams.

Paramount+ is letting its wolves go.
The streamer has canceled Wolf Pack after a single season, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The series, an offshoot of former MTV favorite Teen Wolf and from creator Jeff Davis, wrapped its eight-episode run last March.
Sources say the streamer was keen on doing a second season of the series, but ultimately delays caused by the writers and actors strikes last year would have meant that a sophomore run would not have been ready until 2025. That, sources say, wasn’t going to work for Paramount+ as the platform would have had to spend more to market the show after being off the air for an extended period of time.
Star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who also exec produced the show, told The Hollywood Reporter in March that writing for a potential second season was already underway. “We plan to do one,” she said when asked...

After 26 years away from the supernatural monsters of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Sarah Michelle Gellar is back in the pack with "Wolf Pack." The Paramount+ series, created by Jeff Davis ("Teen Wolf"), is based on the book of the same name by Edo van Belkom. When a fire causes animals to flee the forest, and some teens are injured, they discover that werewolves are real and living among them. Some of those attacked have become wolves as well. The series also stars Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson, Tyler Lawrence Gray, and Rodrigo Santoro.
The draw for many fans, however, is Gellar's return. After all, she did star as Buffy, a groundbreaking show for the time about a young woman who was far more than she appeared to be -- a vampire slayer who not only fought monsters but had a bunch of them as friends.
It may be flawed and of its time,...

Long before she was Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar was a child star, landing commercial gigs. The star has had many prominent roles since then, so it’s unlikely most think of her for her Burger King ad. But it certainly made an impact on the actor. Gellar recounts how she was sued by a competitor at just 5 years old.
McDonald’s sued 5-year-old Sarah Michelle Gellar for her Burger King commercial
One of the first campaign ads Gellar did was for Burger King back in 1981. The commercial caused the 5-year-old to get into some legal trouble.
“I was the first person to say another competitor’s name in a job,” the star told Buzzfeed. “[They] turned around and sued the advertising agency, Burger King, and me at five!”
In the ad, the young Gellar is seen sitting on a bench outside a Burger King restaurant, where she tells the audience that...

Paramount+ has spooked up two hits with debuts “Teen Wolf: The Movie” and “Wolf Pack,” both of which hail from MTV Entertainment Studios, creator Jeff Davis (who’s under a multi-year deal at the studio) and MGM.
The former — a film revival of the beloved 2011 young-adult supernatural series that reunites a majority of the cast, including stars Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin — broke the streamer’s record for the most-watched original move in the first day of its debut.
The latter, which stars and is executive produced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, marked the platform’s most-viewed YA show since the “iCarly” reboot, making it the No. 2 YA series premiere overall in its first 24 hours.

Let’s face it, Sarah Michelle Gellar is the Queen of supernatural TV genre, due to her remarkable on the iconic show that is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. With that in mind, her eagerly anticipated return to the shows of that ilk comes with a great sense of excitement – and what’s even more exciting, is that we had the pleasure of speaking to her. The actress was in London promoting the launch of new Paramount+ series Wolf Pack, talking to us about the attraction to the show, and whether it came with a greater sense of consideration given the standards she has set for herself.
She also talks to us about Buffy, whether she ever watches it, and in fact whether it ever became normal seeing herself on the telly. Meanwhile, we also spoke to her co-star, the Brazilian Rodrigo Santoro, as he talks about collaborating with Gellar on the show,...

Horror television has been dominated by vampire shows based on books like True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, and Vampire Academy to name a few. Werewolves appeared on some, and also got their own show in Teen Wolf, based on the comedy movies. But Wolf Pack is based on the books by Edo van Belkom, but the Wolf Pack series changes a few things.

On paper, “Wolf Pack,” Paramount+’s newest supernatural teen drama, has it all. It’s a show with “Wolf” in the title, created by Jeff Davis, the same guy who created both “Criminal Minds” and the ridiculous and beloved TV show version of “Teen Wolf.” It’s got a diverse cast of hot 20-somethings playing teenagers who sometimes turn into wolves, and, most importantly, it stars supernatural teen drama icon Sarah Michelle Gellar. So it’s unfortunate that “Wolf Pack” doesn’t all come together, at least in the first two episodes made available for review.
The series centers on teens Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard), two opposite teens who both get bitten by some mysterious wolf-like creature when their school bus is derailed by rapidly spreading wildfires. Everett ends up in the hospital with a nasty bite that seems to be quickly disappearing, while Blake rushes home...

Scream queen Sarah Michelle Gellar is back on the small screen, and we’re here for it! Edo Van Belkom’s “Wolf Pack” will leap off the pages in a new TV adaptation starring Gellar. “Teen Wolf” creator Jeff Davis has a two-in-one rollout of wolf-themed stories arriving at the end of January with the original spin-off film coming out the same day as “Wolf Pack.” Davis serves as executive producer on “Wolf Pack” in addition to writing as a part of his multi-year deal with MTV Entertainment Studios.
Joe Genier, Mike Elliott and Karen Gorodetzky also serve as executive producers for Capital Arts, and Jason Ensler, Michelle Gellar and Christian Taylor executive produce as well on the Paramount+ original series. Gellar plays a major role in the series, trading vampires for werewolves.

Hardcore "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fans might already be aware that Sarah Michelle Gellar has expressed zero interest in returning for a "Buffy" revival. Gellar's disinterest is definitive, as she explained that the show exclusively dealt with adolescent struggles within a supernatural context, and her involvement in a revival would only serve to negate that core intention.
However, fret not: Gellar is making a comeback to the genre, as she is an integral part of Jeff Davis' supernatural teen drama, "Wolf Pack." No, this is not related to "Teen Wolf" in any capacity, despite Davis' involvement — the series will focus on teens wolfing out, sure, but offer interesting twists with regards to the origins of their transformations. After all, what's a coming-of-age drama without the risks of turning into a fanged creature of the night?

Premiering on Paramount+ on January 26, Wolf Pack is one of the most anticipated TV series of the year. Based on the titular 2004 book by Edo van Belkom, the drama series is best known for casting Sarah Michelle Gellar as the main character.
The show’s writer, Jeff Davis, is no stranger to werewolf dramas. He also wrote Teen Wolf, a TV reboot of the 1985 film. Recently, Davis shared that a real-life disaster inspired the first scene of Wolf Pack in California.

Before a deep dive into Paramount+’s latest supernatural teen drama “Wolf Pack,” a bit of housekeeping is in order. “Wolf Pack” is the creation of Jeff Davis, who also loosely adapted “Teen Wolf” (from the old Michael J. Fox film) into a six-season drama, for Paramount’s MTV. But “Wolf Pack” – built from the novel by Edo van Belkom – is not a “Teen Wolf” spin-off, and doesn’t take place in the same universe. But it is about werewolves, and it premieres immediately following the new culminating “Teen Wolf” movie. So that settles that.
That might make Davis’ newest project a tad bit confusing, but it’s also a pretty slick strategy to follow your hit series with a show that resembles it so closely that audiences might not resist its supernatural pull. Basically, Davis has cornered the market on teen dramas for people who stayed angry about Bella...

From 2011 to 2017, the beloved MTV series "Teen Wolf" brought new life to the original 1985 film of the same name. The show followed teenage protagonist Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a high school student who learns to balance his dual identity as a werewolf and protect his town from supernatural creatures. During its six-year run, "Teen Wolf" garnered a loyal fan base, and since its end, fans of the show have been eagerly anticipating a similar teen drama to sink their teeth into.

Plot: A raging California wildfire jumps onto a roadway, trapping a bus full of high school students. Everett and Blake encounter something lurking in the flames and smoke. Luna and Harlan cross the fire line in a desperate search for their missing Park Ranger father, and Kristen Ramsey, a very determined arson investigator, arrives on the scene.

Wolf Pack, the new werewolf series from Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, is a new take on the mythos of shape-shifting monsters. Rather than telling the same story we have heard countless times before, Davis adapts the novels of Edo van Belkom for a unique story following four young people who contend with abilities they are not prepared for. The series also serves as the long-awaited return to genre television of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Also starring Rodrigo Santoro, Wolf Pack hopes to generate a new fanbase as rabid as the one for Teen Wolf.

The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. At least, that's some of the thinking in Paramount+'s new series, "Wolf Pack, from "Teen Wolf" producer Jeff Davis. The new series follows a group of teenagers in California whose lives are changed forever when a wildfire wakes up a mysterious creature in the forest. The full trailer for the series, released Jan. 12, is jam-packed with stunning action, some terrifying horror, and steamy kisses. Watch it ahead.
Though "Wolf Pack" comes from Davis and has similar subject matter to "Teen Wolf," it's not set in the same universe. "Teen Wolf" creator Jeff Davis is back with another teen werewolf-centric adaptation, this time in the form of the Paramount+ series "Wolf Pack." The show is based on the book series of the same name by author Edo van Belkom, and will start off by adapting the first novel, also titled "Wolf Pack." When a local teen starts a wildfire, it ends up changing more lives than just their own. Arson investigator Kristin Ramsey (Buffy the Vampire Slayer herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar) is on the hunt, trying to figure out who started the fire and what it might have awakened in the forest. Along the way she will encounter -- and likely work with -- a group of teens who were changed by that night forever.
Despite loving werewolf stories, I never really got into the "Teen Wolf" TV show, probably because I haven't been a teen in well over a decade.

“I know that everybody gets confused by it, but I always say, ‘Nobody thinks Twilight is in the same universe as Interview With The Vampire,’” Jeff Davis told SFX Magazine. “There can be two werewolf shows that exist in separate spaces. Not necessarily darker, but a little more sophisticated in terms of themes. Teen Wolf was very comic book. It had a real sense of humor…...
