All seven episodes of Peacock’s “Wolf Like Me” Season 2 are available to stream now (our review), doubling down on the charm and the werewolf complications introduced in season one. It makes for the perfect Halloween binge as October starts to wind down.
The series was created by Abe Forsythe (Little Monsters), who also serves as writer, director, and executive producer.
In season two, Mary (Isla Fisher) and Gary (Josh Gad) leap into the next phase of their relationship and face their biggest challenge yet: pregnancy. Typical anxieties for any expecting couple get exacerbated tenfold when the mom-to-be also happens to be a werewolf.
Without delving into spoilers, the second season ends on a cliffhanger, unlike the tidy, cathartic conclusion of season one. It’s the precise type of ending that demands a third season to see what happens next. Bloody Disgusting sought answers from series creator Abe Forsythe, and...

Directed by Lee Cronin, Evil Dead Rise is out now on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital, as well as streaming on Max, this year’s box office hit now available for everyone to watch at home. If you haven’t yet gotten the chance, however, you might want to skip this particular article.
This is your Spoiler Warning…
The final act of Evil Dead Rise gives birth to The Marauder, a brand new supervillain in the world of The Evil Dead. Essentially, The Marauder is an entire family unit blended together to form a monstrous and murderous beast, a big swing for the franchise that feels a bit more Resident Evil than it does Evil Dead. We’ll call the film’s final act… Resident Evil Dead.
In Evil Dead Rise, mom Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) and kids Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) and Danny (Morgan Davies) all become Deadites, the three quite literally...

One of the standout films from this year’s FrightFest was the debut feature film from writer/director Matthew Holness, who you’ll know as the co-creator/writer/star of Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace. It’s exactly the sort of film we love to champion, a labour of love with an assured hand and a truly unique take on the horror genre.
We called it ‘A quietly nasty gem that’ll make you re-think British horror altogether’ in our 4 star review of the film from FrightFest. We also spoke to Odd Studios’ Adam Johansen on the incredible creature design for the film, it’s an intriguing deep dive into a side of the business which sadly often goes overlooked. You can check that out here.
The film will be released in UK cinemas on the 26th of October. Here’s the nightmare-inducing new poster.

Premiering first in Edinburgh and now crash-landing in London at the August FrightFest event, Matthew Holness’s Possum has been topping ‘must-see’ lists for months now. And we were very partial to its grimy, patient, very British take on horror. Sean Harris’s exceptional lead is the sort that’ll stick with you, but even scarier than the Mission: Impossible villain’s trembling cheekbones is his co-star – a tentacled puppet made of pure nightmare fuel. We fired a few emails across the globe and spoke to the studio behind the titular Possum, to figure out what the hell is going on with what is surely one of the most terrifying movie monsters of the year.
Sydney-based Odd Studios have won BAFTAs, Oscars, and just about every other award under the sun for their work on everything from Mad Max: Fury Road, to Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix and Babe: Pig in the City.

The new trailer for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant was released yesterday, and we got to see the xenomorph aliens in full on attack mode. I'm sure you've figured it out by now that Scott is going back to his roots and is looking to give Alien fans a horrifically terrifying film.
During a recent set visit, /Film got to talk to the crew about the horror aspect of the film, the buckets of blood they used, and how it compares to the original Alien film and Prometheus. Producer Mark Huffam explains how Covenant is a much darker film than Prometheus:
“It is going to be more of a horror movie than Prometheus was. It kind of inhabits both parts very well. It’s got the scale of Prometheus, but also it brings in the suspense and the corridors get smaller, darker, and you’re just wondering what’s down there,...

Damian Martin and.Adam Johansen.
The founders of prosthetics and creature effects house Odd Studio, Adam Johansen and Damian Martin, have worked on everything from 'Farscape' to 'Pacific Rim: Maelstrom'. They talk to Harry Windsor about their partnership.
How did you guys meet?
Adam: We meet in .98 on the first season of Farscape. Damian and myself were among the first Aussies to join Jim Henson's crew and the only ones to do all four seasons. It was a fantastic series to work on, with so much creature effects and prosthetic work, and an invaluable experience for all involved, making new aliens and creatures on a weekly basis for four years. We both ended up working on productions like Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones and Revenge of The Sith, the Matrix films and a few others in between Farscape seasons. We worked very well...

Paul Trefry with one of his creations.
CreatureNFX.s Paul Trefry studied graphic design at Randwick Tafe in 1984. After graduating the next year, he admits he had .no idea what to do..
During the course he had already demonstrated a knack for making things with his hands, a skill which won him his first gig.
.At the end of second year we were given particular projects to do during the course, and instead of drawing them I.d physically make things,. says Trefry.
.And then a guy in the year before me who had gotten a job at an advertising agency wanted a little diorama made and asked me to do it..
Upon graduation, Trefry travelled to the UK and spent time with the Jim Henson Company, shortly after the company had finished work on Labyrinth. .I thought yeah, this is the direction I want to go in..

Emerging director Craig D. Foster has given insights into the making of his new horror/comedy, Overtime, which is set to open the St Kilda Film Festival.
The eight-minute short film, which stars Aaron Glenane, Adam Dunn, Arka Das and Anslie Clouston, is about a meek accountant, Ralph, who is forced to work overtime on the night of a full moon — which poses him a rather significant problem, given that he is also a werewolf.
Foster (writer/director/producer) tells If he wrote the film with his wife, Emma McKenna (producer/writer/editor), which was then taken through Metro Screen's Raw Nerve initiative.
Raw Nerve is an initiative funded by Screen Australia aimed at emerging filmmakers, enabling them to make a short film (5-7 mins) on digital video.
Every year, Raw Nerve gives three filmmaking teams, who have never previously produced or directed a film with full or partial...

Sydney-based short horror/comedy film Overtime is set to open the 33rd St Kilda Film Festival.

Damian Martin and Adam Johansen at the 2014.Sydney International Make up Artists Trade Show.
Damian Martin and Adam Johansen are the owners of Odd Studio, and created make-up effects on Mad Max: Fury Road.
The pair are still riding high after attending the Oscars in Los Angeles last month.
"We.ve all grown up watching Hollywood's night of nights and the opportunity to attend is something I think most people have dreamt of. To be nominated for our work is clearly a huge honour".
"When it was announced that Fury Road had won for best makeup and hair it was a true heart in mouth moment and quite overwhelming. It.s still all a little surreal"..
The pair paid tribute to the "massive group effort" that brought the film to the screen.
"Everyone involved worked very hard to bring George Millers vision [to life]"..
"The main thing is all of the awards...

Odd Studio.s Adam Johansen and his team jumped at the chance to illustrate the dangers of excessive alcohol, smoking, eating, stress and exposure to the sun on behalf of private health insurer Bupa.
"The TV campaign, which is running at the moment, was all about the emotional reaction you would feel if you met an unhealthier version of yourself," says Johansen. "The script planned to make people think about that moment when you realise you haven't made healthy choices in your life and you look physically terrible because of it."
The brief from director Steve Rogers was to create radically altered versions of the characters that were disturbing enough to make people feel determined to change their lives.
"He said it was important for the audience to understand that the older person was the same individual at the same age . just a lot unhealthier. We had to approach the...
