In another setback for La Weekly, recently-hired interim editor-in-chief Hillel Aron has been suspended without pay, after old tweets deemed offensive by critics and by the publication’s new owners came to light. “La Weekly has zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. Past comments posted by Hillel Aron on Twitter that have come to our attention over the last 24 hours are extremely offensive and unacceptable,” Publisher Brian Calle and general counsel David Welch said in a statement provided to TheWrap. “They are not in line with La Weekly’s values and do not reflect the views of our team.

Hulu’s sci-fi anthology series “Dimension 404” has just added two new cast members, Joel McHale and Sarah Hyland.
McHale is jumping on board and will appear in one episode as Mr. Maker, a charismatic, eccentric, yet slightly patronizing founder of a matchmaking company that offers single adults a seemingly perfect solution to finding love. The “Modern Family” star will also be seen in another stand-alone episode as Chloe, an unassumingly cute, high school student who is just discovering that boys are into her. She pushes her uncle/best pal, Dusty, to take her to a screening of a new sci-fi action film in a fresh, never-before-seen cinematic format – “Cinethrax” – which gives the audience a strange, perilous movie-going experience.
After the news was announced, the “Community” actor joked with Hyland on Twitter, calling dibs on the front trailer.

She later replied by tweeting, “D**n it Joel! you always call dibs!”

Lea Michelle and Robert Buckley also form part of the ensemble as a couple brought together by McHale’s matchmaking service. Ryan Lee will be Andrew in another one-hour episode, in which he plays a secretly gay teenage introvert and video game addict. Andrew is viciously bullied by classmates and only finds comfort and courage at Ernie’s Arcade where he discovers a mysterious, never-played arcade game called Polybius, and investigates its dark and bloody provenance.
The series is inspired by the Internet’s “404” error code and hopes to evoke that 3am feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web, stumbling upon stories that cannot be explained in the world that we know. The show is created by Dez Dolly and Will Campos, with co-creators Dan Johnson and David Welch. The project hails from RocketJump and will be distributed by Lionsgate.

Attorneys for the city of Los Angeles are seeking an injunction to stop an outdoor medical marijuana farmers market in Boyle Heights. The California Heritage Market, operated by the West Coast Collective, opened for business over the Fourth of July weekend, attracting big crowds hoping to sample the offerings. City Attorney Mike Feuer will ask a judge Tuesday to block the operation, claiming it runs afoul of a voter-approved measure limiting the number of dispensaries in the city and is an unauthorized use of the property. David Welch, an attorney for West Coast Collective, tells City News Service that
