John Travolta's attorney has slammed reports suggesting his client attempted to grope his late Grease co-star Jeff Conaway during an awkward encounter six years ago.
Tragic Conaway's girlfriend Vicki Lizzi has gone public with the sensational claims in U.S. tabloid Globe in the same week as two unnamed masseurs both dropped sexual battery lawsuits against Travolta, in which they claimed the movie star had acted inappropriately during alleged spa sessions.
Lizzi tells the publication that the alleged groping incident that occurred at Conaway's California home came to light in a suicide note her late boyfriend wrote in 2006 before a failed attempt to take his own life. She claims the encounter put a strain on Travolta and Conaway's longtime friendship and drove them apart.
But the Pulp Fiction star's lawyer Singer insists the Lizzi interview is "reckless" and he has fired off an angry statement blasting the magazine's editors for publishing the report.
His statement, issued to Eonline.com, reads: "This spate of recklessly published tabloid stories is just part of a malicious tabloid agenda to boost lagging sales by running outrageous defamatory stories about my client sourced by people seeking notoriety or a payday."
Singer has also taken aim at Lizzi herself, adding, "Vicki Lizzi, the late Jeff Conaway's estranged girlfriend, has been a regular paid source... yet this is the very first time we are hearing this new outlandish story that is supposedly based on a six-year-old notarized suicide note.
"Vikki Lizzi sold more stories than we can count to (Globe parent company) Ami publications both before and after Jeff Conaway died (in May, 2011)."
Earlier this week, Singer was celebrating after the two masseurs dropped their lawsuits against his client, insisting Travolta had been "vindicated", and on Thursday, he told TMZ.com that reports suggesting the two men had been paid for their silence were incorrect: "Not one penny has been paid, nor do we have any intention to pay any money for these ridiculous and false claims."
The two unidentified masseurs, known only as John Doe #1 and #2, alleged Travolta had touched them inappropriately and propositioned them for sex during two separate appointments in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Georgia earlier this year.
The first lawsuit was dismissed on Tuesday and the second was withdrawn on Thursday.

High-profile attorney Gloria Allred is now set to represent two of the alleged victims to come forward with claims they were sexually harassed by John Travolta.
TMZ reports that Allred is now representing John Doe #2, the second of two anonymous masseurs to charge Travolta with sexual battery and assault, but notes "it's unclear exactly what Allred is doing with him."
The news comes one day after Allred confirmed she'd taken on the case of John Doe #1, who is described in court documents simply as a Texas-based masseur. Late last week, John Doe #1 was dropped by his legal counsel, Los Angeles-based attorney Okorie Okorocha, after the alleged victim revealed he'd gotten the date of his supposed encounter with the "Pulp Fiction" star wrong when filing suit.
As TMZ reported earlier, John Doe #2 -- said to be a masseur at an undisclosed Atlanta-based resort -- followed suit by firing Okorocha, and announcing...

Stars including Corey Feldman, Christopher Lloyd and Ernie Hudson turned out to pay tribute to Jeff Conaway at the actor's memorial service in California on Tuesday.
The Grease star passed away last month, two weeks after he was found unconscious at his home and admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia and blood poisoning caused by a bacterial infection.
He was remembered at a service in Encino, California on Tuesday afternoon and a number of famous faces turned out to pay their respects, including Back to the Future star Lloyd and Ghostbusters' Hudson.
Former child star Feldman spoke at the service and gave an emotional eulogy for his friend of 25 years, telling mourners, "Jeff was an amazing leader... He had a light inside of him that was so inspiring to many. I was one of those people that he affected so profoundly.
"He had energy, he had charisma, he had joy and laughter in his heart. And what he wanted more than anything was to share that with as many people as he could."
The service, hosted by the star's former fiancee, Vikki Lizzi, also included a special performance by Conaway's favourite band, soul group The Temptations, who sang hits including It's So Hard to Say Goodbye and a track written especially for the late actor called I'll Miss You, Buddy.
Guests also signed purple balloons and released them into the sky as a poignant tribute to Conaway.

Actor best known as John Travolta's sidekick Kenickie in Grease, and Bobby Wheeler in the Us sitcom Taxi
In the late 1970s and early 80s, Taxi was one of the best American sitcoms. It won 18 Emmy awards and its stars, among them Jeff Conaway, who has died in hospital aged 60, became household names. Conaway played the narcissistic, "resting" actor Bobby Wheeler, one of the characters working for the Sunshine cab company, all hoping for better jobs to turn up. In a way, the role mirrored Conaway's own struggle for greater recognition as an actor, which was not helped by his having been addicted to alcohol, cocaine and analgesics since he was a teenager.
In Taxi, the handsome Conaway , sporting the feathered hairstyle popular in the 1970s, had to compete with more fascinating characters in the avuncular Alex Reiger (Judd Hirsch), obnoxious Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito), sexy divorcee Elaine...

Jeff Conaway has died at the age of 60. The star of "Taxi" and "Grease" had been in a medically induced coma for more than a week after being found unconscious in his home earlier this month. His family decided to turn off his life support on Thursday, May 26 despite objections of his longtime girlfriend Vikki Lizzi. He passed away on early Friday.
Jeff's manager Phil Brock informed People Magazine, "Jeff was taken off life-support [Thursday] afternoon. His family chose to take him off of life-support based on advice from physicians. They thought for several days that the situation was hopeless." He further detailed that the actor died at 10:30 A.M. surrounded by his sisters, nieces and nephews.
Despite earlier report that Jeff was hospitalized for an overdose of painkillers, Dr. Drew Pinsky is adamant that "there is no evidence showing Jeff died from an overdose." The celebrity doctor, who treated...

Celebrity Death! Why did the family of Jeff Conaway pull the plug? [May 27] American actor Jeff Conaway, 60, has lost the fight against his cocaine, painkillers, and alcohol addiction. The Grease and Taxi actor lost his life the night of May 26th, 2011, when his family decided to take him off of life support. Remembered as a candid actor, having worked with Dr. Drew in the struggle with his addiction, the celebrity actor completed an unsuccessful season of Celebrity Rehab. With a life in the movies since his early adulthood, a Hollywood romance with Vikki Lizzi, and a strong personality, Conaway definitely made an impact on Hollywood. As Jeff’s health declined, family members considered removing his feeding tube and ventilator. Doctors indicated that Jeff’s condition was only detonating with time. When they went to court for the decision, girlfriend Vikki Lizzi fought with the family, trying to stop them from doing so.

All the drugs in the world could never take away Jeff Conaway’s pain and in the end, they may have played a part in taking his life. The former Taxi and Grease actor was taken off life support Thursday and was pronounced dead Friday morning, nine days after being put in a coma from what was originally thought as an overdose of painkillers on May 11. Dr. Drew Pinsky who treated him for addictions to cocaine, alcohol, and painkillers on his exploitative therapeutic show Celebrity Rehab, later determined his critical status was due to sepsis (blood poisoning) as a result of pneumonia.
The long-time actor began on the stages of Broadway and eventually rose up the ranks in a Main Step production of Grease to eventually play the lead part, Danny Zuko. He joined the cast of Taxi as the struggling taxi driver, Bobby Wheeler from 1978-1982. Conaway’s experience...

A battle over the removal of Jeff Conaway's life support machines may be brewing between his ex-girlfriend and his family. Just hours after it was reported that Jeff's family has decided to turn off his life support, Radar Online came out with the report that Vikki Lizzi, who has dated the former "Grease" actor on and off for years, is said taking legal action to stop the removal.
Vikki reportedly claims she has the power of attorney over the star of TV series "Taxi". A source close to her said, "Vikki has the power of attorney and also has a living trust from 2007 that names her as a guarantor of the trust. The hospital has assured the attorney they won't do anything until they re-read the trust." The source added, "The family only has the health care power of attorney."
The inside source also insisted that Vicki loves Jeff.

We are sad to hear that Taxi actor Jeff Conaway’s life support system will be shut off today, according to a source reporting to RadarOnline. The star of our adolescent dreams as Kenickie in Grease had been put in a medically induced coma after entering the hospital May 11. “Doctors advised the family that Jeff has had no brain function since he was brought into the hospital,” the source said. “The feeding tube has already been removed. The ventilator which is breathing for Jeff, will be removed sometime this afternoon.” Dr. Drew Pinsky has said publicly that the star was battling pneumonia and sepsis, which contributed to his coma. Conaway’s girlfriend Vikki Lizzi, who joined him in his battle with substance addiction as seen on Celebrity Rehab, was reportedly served with a restraining order preventing her from visiting Conaway in the hospital; Lizzi contested the restraining order, filed by Conaway’s sister Carla Sherve.
