(Photo by: Sophie Giraud/Hulu) Out in the real world, The Handmaid’s Tale has been referenced in terms of political debates over the past several years. And Elisabeth Moss is certainly aware of the way the show is being viewed through that political lens. However, when it came to filming the latest season of the series, Moss told us she had to sweep most of that real-world awareness aside. In order to play the role correctly, she told us, she really needed to immerse herself in the character’s world, not the real world. Brandon Larracuente and Savannah Welch (Titans) will join the ABC medical drama in major recurring roles for the 2022-2023 season. (The series was renewed in March.) Larracuente and Welch will play characters named Danny and Danni, short for Daniel and Danica. They’ll be introduced at the beginning of The Good Doctor Season 6 with the possibility to be bumped up to series regulars in the future, Deadline reports. Daniel will charm the hospital staff while keeping his personal life a mystery, and he’ll show an interest in “somewhat controversial alternative medicine.” Danica is an Annapolis graduate who went through medical school in the Navy, making her competitive, charismatic, and “ethical to a fault.” Despite her military background, Danni will have no qualms going against authority. Before their Good Doctor debuts, Larracuente starred as Emilio Acosta...

Exclusive: Brandon Larracuente (Freeform’s Party of Five) and Savannah Welch (HBO Max’s Titans) have been cast in major recurring roles on ABC’s The Good Doctor as the newest St. Bonaventure interns.
Their characters will be introduced at the start of the recently picked up Season 6 and, as is the case with any new class of interns, the recurring castings include options for Larracuente and Welch to become series regulars, I hear.
Larracuente will play Daniel (aka Danny). In the hospital he is known to charm doctors and nurses alike, even with his interest in somewhat controversial alternative medicine. Outside of the hospital, he is a bit of a lone wolf and an intriguing mystery to his coworkers.
Welch will play Danica (aka Danni). She is an Annapolis graduate, having completed medical school in the Navy. Danni is charismatic, ethical to a fault, and competitive both inside and outside the hospital.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Season 3 finale of Titans, “Purple Rain.” So if you haven’t caught up, first, maybe examine your priorities. And then come back and check it out.] After a wickedly inventive and emotionally packed season that saw the Titans heading to Gotham City to battle both DC Comics villains Jonathan Crane (Vincent Kartheiser) and the Red Hood—fallen Titan Jason Todd (Curran Walters), who was drugged into killing Hank Hall (Alan Ritchson) with an explosive device—the often-fractious superteam got it together and brought these two monsters to justice. Or at least the Gotham version of justice, with a repentant Todd run out of town and Crane locked back up at Arkham Asylum with just a headful of horrifying memories to drive him mad. Dick Grayson and his band of superheroes will have a lot more crime-fighting to do on HBO Max.
The hit drama has officially been picked up for Season 4.
The renewal became official during DC Fandome over the weekend.
The series follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong.
In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they reunite with old friends and face new threats.
The cast this season has included Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Conor Leslie, Curran Walters, Joshua Orpin, Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, Damaris Lewis, and Savannah Welch.
Moving the action to Gotham full-time has resulted in a much darker series, pushing all of the characters in new directions -- some to the dark side.

Did anyone else roll their eyes the moment Titans Season 3 Episode 6 took to the past?
What seemed like an origin story for another new character was actually a nuanced, deep dive into Barbara Gordon and her relationship with Dick Grayson.
We already knew they shared a past, but witnessing the finer details of their relationship was the perfect way to highlight why the pair stare at each other like they want to rip each other's clothes off.
There's burning chemistry between them, but when in Gotham City, things are never easy.
Out of all the newer characters on the show, Barbara deserved an origin story. She's a badass character with many layers, and peeling back the onion on some things we didn't know helped elevate the character to new heights.

It's been a long road, but Titans Season 3 is less than a week from touching down at its new home on HBO Max.
The transition has been a smooth process, and the look of the show remains a cut above the other superhero shows, so that's a major positive.
But the transition to Gotham City comes at a huge cost to the tone of the show. The series has typically embraced the darkness, but there has always been a comedic lick of humor that allowing for witty one-liners.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Titans Season 3.
After watching five episodes, they are the darkest in the series' history, and the drama rarely stops long enough for the heroes to breathe or share a laugh or two. It's all about moving on to the next plot.
If anything, it highlights the nature of Gotham City to a T, so if...

Batgirl will soon become the latest Bat-themed superhero to star in their own DC movie. After a very long gestation period that has directors and screenwriters come and go, Warner Bros. is finally turning the wheels on Gotham’s foremost female crimefighter, with the film set for an HBO Max release sometime in 2022 or 2023, according to THR.
While WB hasn’t announced a proper release date for Batgirl, it has found its Barbara Gordon. Deadline reports that the studio has cast actor and singer Leslie Grace (In the Heights) as Batgirl. Jonathan Crane is now locked up in Arkham Asylum
“Titans” has found its Scarecrow. Vincent Kartheiser will play Jonathan Crane on the third season of the DC Comics series, which now streams on HBO Max.
In “Titans,” Crane is past his Scarecrow days and is locked up in Arkham Asylum. As Scarecrow, Crane terrorized Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias. Cillian Murphy played the character in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight film trilogy.
Crane is part of a trio of new characters that will be introduced in the third season. Savannah Welch was cast as Barbara Gordon, who is the Gotham City Police Commissioner in “Titans,” long past her days as Batgirl. Although she has a past relationship with Dick Grayson (Brendan Thwaites), she is wary of the Titans now being in Gotham. Alicia Silverstone played a loosely based version of the character in Joel Schumacher’s “Batman & Robin.

“Titans” is adding another Robin for its upcoming third season.
Jay Lycurgo will recur on the now-hbo Max series as Tim Drake, who comics fans know to become the third iteration of Batman’s sidekick.
Lycurgo joins Curran Walters’ Jason Todd and Brendan Thwaites’ Dick Grayson on the series, each of whom has taken the mantle of the Boy Wonder. “Titans” sees Grayson after he left The Dark Knight’s side and has since become the hero Nightwing, while Walters’ Todd takes over the moniker of the anti-hero Red Hood this season.
Here is how Warner Bros. describes Drake: A streetwise kid who’s managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism. His easy-going demeanor is backed up by a near-genius mind, a natural detective with a perception of detail far beyond his years.
