A barefoot Kacey Musgraves opened her third appearance as Saturday Night Live musical guest by singing the mellow title track of Deeper Well, her new album that comes out March 15.
The 14-track LP, recorded at New York’s storied Electric Lady Studios, is “a collection songs I hold very dear to my heart,” Musgraves wrote in an Instagram post last month announcing her latest work.
The multiple Grammy winner later returned to the stage, this time with a classical guitar, to perform “Too Good to be True,” which follows “Deeper Well” on the track listing.

Grey's Anatomy is in the middle of airing its darkest season ever.
Grey's Anatomy Season 17 has been tackling Covid-19 in more depth than any other medical drama, showcasing how physically and emotionally exhausted its characters are.
One of the most beloved characters was recently stabbed and died after surgery to save his life.
It's been a difficult watch, for sure, but with Meredith in a coma, fans have been able to check back in with characters that died years ago.
In a new trailer for Grey's Anatomy Season 17 Episode Episode 10, airing April 1, Meredith meets with her half-sister, Lexie, on the beach that has served as the motif for the entire season.
The trailer is set to Anna Nalick's "2 Am (Breathe)" and teases the beach guest fans have apparently been waiting for.
A long-haired Lexie passes Meredith a towel. The sisters are then shown sitting on the beach, looking out to the water.

A federal lawsuit alleges that NBCUniversal, the National Football League, and recording artist Carrie Underwood are among those who plagiarized a YouTube song to create the Sunday Night Football opening theme song “Game On” that precedes the athletic action. Snf is typically one of the primetime ratings leaders during its season and a bright spot for the televised NFL games.
The lawsuit was filed in the Us District Court for the Southern District of New York by songwriters Heidi Merrill, Alex Wong, Jeff Cohen and Niclas Lundin, who claim they created a slightly different version of the Sunday Night Football theme song performed by Underwood. Read the complaint here.
The lawsuit also names various Underwood-affiliated music publishers and her recording company, as well as songwriters Chris DeStefano, Brett James and Underwood producer Mark Bright.

Taylor Swift rarely participates in interviews anymore, so when she sits down to share her thoughts, you know fans are going to listen. In the midst of speculation about her possible seventh album, the 29-year-old singer penned a touching essay about the power of music for Elle UK's April issue, which will be released on March 7. She opened up about the songs that have impacted her life as she's grown up, and coincidentally, we've added them all to our "throwback" playlist! Here are a few of Taylor's nostalgic picks:
"Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks: "I instantly recall the feeling of being 12 years old, sitting in a little wood-paneled room in my family home in Pennsylvania. I'm clutching a guitar and learning to play the chords and sing the words at the same time, rehearsing for a gig at a coffee house." "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic!

Never underestimate the power of music. It's no secret that millions of Swifties around the world have connected with Taylor Swift's personal lyrics and infectious beats. But as it turns out, the pop music superstar also has her fair share of artists that delivered impactful songs for herself. While covering Elle UK's Music Issue, the 29-year-old wrote an essay on the Power of Pop. Through her writing, Taylor revealed some of the artists and songs that got her through various stages of life. "When I hear 'How to Save a Life' by The Fray, 'Breathe (2Am)' by Anna Nalick or 'The Story' by Brandi Carlile, I immediately flashback to being 17 and on tour for months...

Now that Game of Thrones' most recent season has come to a close, it's been pretty hard to accept the fact that we won't be seeing Jon Snow, the saddest, sexiest bastard in all of the seven kingdoms, on our TV screens every Sunday. Luckily, Jon's offscreen alter ego, Kit Harington, is currently filming the movie The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, where he was spotted listening to music during some downtime in between shooting scenes. What's on his iPod, we wonder. What music might the great Jon Snow jam out to when he's not taking down Ramsay Bolton or fulfilling his destiny to save the world? We have a few ideas: "Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi "The Wall" by Bruce Springsteen "Zombie" by The Cranberries "Don't Hold the Wall" by Justin Timberlake "Daddy Lessons" by Beyoncé "Winter Song" by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michelson "Sometimes...

I watch American Idol for one thing and one thing only, and that's the sight of arrogant young men crying near Ryan Seacrest. I basically got a Trainspotting-sized injection of that sweet fix during Thursday night's solo round show, because there were tears, sniffles, anxieties, and sobs galore. Some were crocodile tears, as the astute barrister Nicki Minaj noted, but every salty drop was nonetheless a spectacle of drama king camp. Mmmmm. My absolute favorite.
The judges pared down the list of competing dudes to 28, and these five contestants were my five top selections of the evening. Grab your hanky, wave it in the air, and then cry into it, because this quintet is one weepy bunch of winners. Miss America-style.
5. Charlie Askew, "Somebody That I Used to Know"
First of all, I'm pretty sure that "Charlie Askew" is the cabaret name of Fran Lebowitz, because I'm getting major Public Speaking vibes from this child.

Something Borrowed
Directed by: Luke Greenfield
Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson, Colin Egglesfield, John Krasinski
Running Time: 1 hr 53 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: May 6, 2011
Plot: After her birthday party, Rachel (Goodwin) wakes up next to her best friend’s fiancee (Egglesfield). The two must decide what to do as the wedding day for her friend (Hudson) draws near.
Who’S It For?: Don’t be a sap – Something Borrowed is so skewered that it doesn’t romanticize love, but instead cheating. This movie about two gal pals isn’t even for friends, as friendship is made out by the movie to be deceitful. If anything, Something Borrowed is for those who just enjoy hearing people talk about their feelings, and putting themselves in “I’ve got to talk to you” moments. But you can get that in real life, right?
Expectations: Competing against Thor, it seemed like summer movies...

Sara Ramirez led her "Grey's Anatomy" cast mates in Thursday's (March 30) musical episode and now the soundtrack is available on iTunes.
Also, Ramirez just released her 4 song Ep, which includes "The Story," which is also available on iTunes.
The episode revolved around Ramirez's character, Callie, who got into a car accident with her girlfriend, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). That was the event that sent an extremely injured Callie hallucinating that she and her colleagues who were trying to save her expressed their emotions in song.
A Tony winner for her role in Broadway's "Spamalot," we already knew the girl could sing. But, what about her cast mates? They also showed quite a talent for the musical arts.
Here's a list of all the songs from the episode and who sang them:
"Breathe (2Am)," Anna Nalick - Chyler Leigh (Lexie)"Chasing Cars," Snow Patrol - Kevin McKidd (Owen), Chandra Wilson (Miranda), and...

The first scene of tonight's episode showed Callie and Arizona post-car crash. Callie was severely injured, but she managed to mention “music.”
Thus began the first musical episode of Grey’s Anatomy: "Song Beneath The Song." Overall, the concept worked since music really has always played a big part in the show. Some songs were more appropriate and/or better performed than others, though.
Callie first sang “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol from outside her injured body. Her rendition was amazing. Owen and Bailey also sang portions of the song and were impressive as well. In a touching moment, Bailey grabbed Callie’s hand at the operating table.
Lexie sang “Breathe (2 A.M.)” by Anna Nalick after telling Callie to ... just breathe.
The performance was great and overlapped with Lexie comforting Mark and telling him she did not hate him. For a moment, it appeared that she might return to him.

Last week we posted sneak peeks for the upcoming musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, which will be airing on March 31 (view them here). It looks like Callie and Arizona will be getting into a car accident, with Callie taking the brunt of the damage. In fact, the first sneak peek in the previous post shows her suffering significant damage. The musical part comes in with Callie's....spirit, if you will...moving around the hospital as her friends work on saving her.
Now RyanSeacrest.com has full versions of two of the songs from the upcoming episode (which are also embedded below). While the second sneak peek here showed us a preview of cast members singing The Fray's "How to Save a Life", below we have Sara Ramirez singing Brandi Carlile’s “The Story", and Ramirez, Chandra Wilson, and Kevin McKidd singing Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars".

It's an emotional roller-coaster for Lexie when Grey's Anatomy returns tonight.
Chyler Leigh tells TV Line that the opening scene of this week’s episode, featuring Lexie and Jackson, picks up where we left off. And that means it gets “a bit steamy ... not, like, literally steamy - it’s not a shower scene again! - but it involves other equipment.”
What the ... never mind. As for where she sees this new couple going?
“I think they support each other, care about each other and it’s easy for one another to talk to each other about whatever they need or whatever want - things like that.”
“They’re both in the same place in their lives, and they also have the physical attraction to one another, so ... it’s Grey’s Anatomy, so they want sex,” the actress adds.

We feel two ways about the upcoming "Grey's Anatomy" music event on March 31. On the one hand, we're excited to see the cast show off their singing voices and see how creator Shonda Rhimes, who wrote the episode, makes it work for the show.
On the other hand, we've been hearing a lot about something very sad happening in the episode, which makes us worry. And our recent chat with Chyler Leigh, who plays Lexie Grey, just intensified those feelings.
"We all had such a great time doing the episode," she tells us. "It was a lot of work and it was a very emotional episode.
