Details with regard to the pic’s plot are under wraps, but Thomas wrote it with John Micklethwait. Producers are Finola Dwyer and Steven Rales.
Back in 2017, it was reported that Thomas was making her feature directorial debut with The Sea Change, based on Elizabeth Jane Howard’s novel of the same name. This is not that project, nor did it come to fruition.
Miller received a 2013 Golden Globe nomination in the Best Actress TV Miniseries/Movie category and BAFTA Best Leading Actress nom for HBO’s The Girl in which she played Tippi Hedren to Toby Jones’ Alfred Hitchcock. She also received...

I’d never join a film that would have a guy like me for a lead character.
That’s something Groucho Marx might have said about “Raised Eyebrows,” a film about the legendary comic’s later years, which is solidifying its financing ahead of the Cannes Film Market.
Oscar, Emmy, and Tony-winner Geoffrey Rush will play Groucho (born Julius) Marx toward the end of his life, in the 1970s, when he staged something of a comeback as a cranky octogenarian. Powerhouse indie producer Owen Moverman will direct the film, and has co-written it with Steve Stoliar, upon whose memoir the book is based.
Stoliar, a writer-producer (credits include episodes of “Wkrp in Cincinnati”!) came into Groucho’s orbit as a young man, and will be played by Charlie Plummer. Sienna Miller has been cast as Groucho’s young personal manager Erin Fleming who brought the increasingly frail Vaudeville and Hollywood legend back into the spotlight,...

Exclusive: Ahead of the Cannes market, Bankside Films has picked up international rights to Oren Moverman project Raised Eyebrows.
As previously announced, Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech), Sienna Miller (21 Bridges) and Charlie Plummer (Moonfall) are set to star in the 1970s-set feature about comedy icon Groucho Marx’s final years.
The movie will follow Steve (Plummer) as he enters the world of aging comedian Marx (Rush) for his dream job, under the watchful eye of Erin Fleming (Miller) — a younger woman who had taken over Groucho’s personal and professional life. The ensuing generational power struggle results in a Grouchian comedy of horrors.
The Messenger and Rampart filmmaker Moverman directs from a script he cowrote with Steve Stoliar, based on his memoir Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House.
Bankside will be discussing the project with buyers at the upcoming Cannes Market. ICM Partners and CAA Media Finance are handling domestic rights.

Geoffrey Rush is set to play iconic comedian Groucho Marx in “Raised Eyebrows,” writer-director Oren Moverman’s upcoming adaptation of Steve Stoliar’s memoir “Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House.”
Moverman, whose credits include co-writing the Brian Wilson biopic “Love & Mercy” and writing and directing “Time Out of Mind,” worked on the “Raising Eyebrows” script with Stoliar. Rush will star opposite Charlie Plummer and Sienna Miller.
“Raised Eyebrows” is set between 1973 and 1977 and stars Plummer as Stoliar, who is hired by Erin Fleming (Miller) to work with an aging and frail Groucho Marx (Rush). Fleming was in charge of Marx’s personal and professional life as his manager, and the two had a controversial relationship.

That’s probably the strangest title I have ever written, but yes, the twisted mind behind the likes of House of 1000 Corpses, two Halloween remakes, and Lords of Salem, Rob Zombie has gotten his hands on the rights to Steve Stoliar’s memoir Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House, with an eye to direct, according to Deadline. Chronicling the last years of the legendary comedian's life, Stoliar’s book gives us a look at the time he spent as Marx’s personal secretary and archivist, where he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Marx’s brothers Zeppo and Gummo, Mae West, Steve Allen, Bob Hope, and Jack Lemmon, while butting heads with Erin Fleming, the frustrating woman in charge of Groucho’s personal and professional life. The script is written by Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy’s Oren Moverman. This is certainly a different movie for Zombie,...

Given Rob Zombie’s cinematic back catalogue, you might be forgiven for thinking that a project called Raised Eyebrows would be about a spectral pair of eye fuzzies that come to life and urge their owner to kill people. Not so! It’s actually and adaptation of Steve Stoliar’s memoir about the later days of Groucho Marx. Oren Moverman is writing the script based on Stoliar’s book, subtitled My Years Inside Groucho’s House. It chronicles his time spent as Groucho’s personal secretary and archivist in the years before the comedy legend died. His unusual job meant he not only got to know one of his heroes, but also some of those in the man’s life including brothers Zeppo and Gummo, plus George Burns, Mae West, Jack Lemmon, Bob Hope and more. And though it might have seemed like a dream assignment, he also had nightmarishly...
